Absolutely loved the site. The views were lovely. Peter was super responsive and helpful. One thing to note, the water wasn’t visible from the site and required walking down a short overgrown path to get to. Other than that it was perfect and I would definitely stay again.

I loved camping on Peter's land- the sites are very comfortable, and it was by the stream/creek, and sleeping while listening to the running water was wonderful!

Really nice location that is well maintained.
Close to the Black River…will be back in the spring for some trout fishing!

Site 2 - VT Farm on Trout Stream
Needed a place to stay while I was working in the area. It was a perfect place to just pull up to and go to sleep. I didn't do much exploring but there was a nice big hay field there and I took some photographs of the night sky before I went to bed.

We had a great stay at Site 3 at Greenbush! This is a wonderful location convenient to all attractions, restaurants and things to do in Woodstock, great hiking (including right next door Mt. Ascutney), beautiful covered bridges and more. Pete was a wonderful host and was very thorough from booking and throughout the stay. He had great suggestions for things to do nearby as well!
This is definitely primitive camping setup but with some amenities like a portajohn nearby (we brought a luggable loo and privacy tent for convenience which also worked great), nice firepit, a picnic table and some chairs. The option to add on firewood is a nice bonus too and I recommend this!
Site 3 is fairly sandy and is full sun. For this reason alone, I’d recommend more self contained campers for this one such as small trailers, vans or rooftop tents. That said, we happened to be ground tent camping this time and still had a LOVELY time at this site!
I did take a walk around the property and the other sites are also great looking with similar amenities and setups.
This location is on a main road - though set farrrrrr back. There is occasional road noise and some working farm components - but these are normal and not an issue at all for most. I loved that we got to see the hay field being cut!
Overall a great spot to stay and I highly recommend it! Some of the best starry night skies I’ve seen in Vermont.

Tent camping here was fantastic! Host was very responsive, site was beautiful and easy to find, there was a picnic table, two chairs, two firepits, and a charcoal grill waiting for us. Our dog loved running around the grass and playing in the river. Be aware, as another review mentioned, there was about a 7’ drop down to the river from Site 2, but there was a plastic chair to step onto that made it possible. We didn’t see the other sites at all the first two days, but on Sunday from about 4pm - 8:30pm there was a tractor working in the surrounding hayfield (pack your allergy meds!) mowing down the tall grass separating the sites - still plenty of distance between sites but definitely a different level of privacy. We look forward to coming back on our next trip to Vermont!

Peter’s property was the perfect spot! We enjoyed the lovely creek directly behind the site. Water was waist high and super refreshing after a long day. Note the steep bank to enter/exit the water. I think a rope around the tree nearby would be helpful to access the water for those needing a bit more support. Peter was extremely accommodating delivering firewood and going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We totally lucked out with an Aurora sighting and a meteor shower all night long during our stay. Peter’s property is the perfect viewing spot with wide open spaces under the amazing Vermont sky. Would definitely recommend!

I have nothing bad to say about this site!! We loved it so much! The grass was perfectly mowed and we could all run around without shoes on. Then the path to the water was so short and it was safe and easy for my 6, 4 and 3 year old to run around and play. We wish we were still there!

Beautiful Setting & Solitude

Site 3 - VT Farm on Trout Stream
I found exactly what I wanted at Pete's; solitude and peace. The setting is beautiful and walking the stream is a must. Although you can hear nearby traffic, which is light, it's a perfect place to relax. The three sites are so far apart you won't know if the others are occupied or not. You can hear the sound of the stream and I heard multiple owls every night. Site 3 is big and was very clean. There is a fire ring, four chairs, and a picnic table. The picnic table is drilled for an umbrella so bring one if you have it. Some things to keep in mind if you plan to go there; Site 3 is the first site you come to. It's furthest north on the map. The sites don't go 1, 2, 3 but rather 3, 2, 1. If you want morning sun early then site 3 is the one, especially after a chilly night and waking up to a dew soaked site. Site 1 will get sun but much, much later than 3 so you'll be chillier longer there. Site one gets the last sun of the day and is the best for privacy because it's the furthest away. It's a great place to stay and I highly recommend it no matter what site you get.

We loved staying here! We booked site 1. The sites are well maintained and spaced apart. We had a large group and still had room for more. We loved being able to walk a few feet to the river for rock collecting and floating. Our site had a grill, seating, a few extra floats and a nice fire pit. We ordered 2 bundles of wood which were waiting for us when we arrived. There is also a porta potty at the entrance before the campsites. The host was very responsive when we reached out.

Camping on Peter’s land was a wonderful experience! It was a great environment to bring our dogs too, they loved frolicking in the stream out back. He was really helpful in telling us directions to a great water hole! And the firewood worked wonderfully! Thanks for a fantastic weekend, Peter!

We had a great time camping at greenbush farm. Close by to quite a few activities for if you want to get out and explore and plenty to do around the campsite if you’d rather just enjoy the outdoors. The stream is a blast to explore and great for a hot day.
We met Pete while there as he was doing regular maintenance around the sites. He was extremely friendly, gave us lots of recommendations for local activities, etc.
We will definitely camp here again in the future and highly recommend his campsite.
