Weekend Trip to Grateful Acres Vermont

we love love love Grateful Acres! this is our third year and we can’t wait to come back again! Seeing Stephanie and Noah is like seeing old friends. They are so warm and welcoming and we are so happy to see them. Our stay at Sunshine Cabin was fantastic as usual and we especially appreciated that we can pay in advance for wood and for trash removal. We hope to see you again in the fall, but if not, we’ll definitely see you next year!

Stephanie and Noah were very friendly and welcoming, we felt like we were at home. The Daydream Cabin was clean and cozy. The view of the sunset was fantastic. My wife and I will definitely be returning for more relaxing getaways. I highly recommend this campground.

This stay with definitely a very memorable one! Stephanie was such an amazing and thoughtful person and made our stay very comfortable. We had some rough weather that we were not expecting and she was kind enough to extend us her help in any way she could; offering us extra firewood if we needed it and allowing us to stay in the cabins for better shelter. 10/10!!!!

1 night at Grateful Acres Vermont

We stayed in the Daydream cabin on an 3 day bike packing trip through southern Vermont and it was an absolutely perfect “glamping” experience. The cabin and site were clean and well equipped. The location was amazing and very quiet, and we were even able to see a comet! Our hosts were both very friendly and accommodating! Truly a gem in an otherwise remote area that is a major upgrade from the first-come first-serve sites (bike packers take note). Definitely will come back in the summer to enjoy the lake.

Stephanie was a fantastic host. The cabin was exactly as pictured and more (twinkle lights, heater, cute wood furnishings, great firepit and picnic table set up). The view was amazing. And love the Grateful Dead theme!

Welcome 2025, this is our 6th season hosting campers! Enjoy all Summer has to offer in the Vermont Countryside yet closer than you think. Our farm is nestled along a country road between several other farms, mostly horses and a special needs/therapy farm, we are hobby farmers/homesteaders. We have three sites open anytime, during camping season (May thru October), they’re all three tent camping sites but after that closes down for the season (November 1st) we open up for camper vans and small trailers (also in early Spring). The Guilford Fairgrounds is less than 1/4 mile away and has many hiking and biking trails. The land was originally part of a colonial Glebe Trust with the Church of England and divided up, the original 100+ year farmhouse and barn can be seen from many of the campsites. Guilford, Vermont is located in the southeast of Windham County, resting along the Massachusetts border to the south and New Hampshire not far to the east. A community with a long and interesting history, Guilford was actually Vermont’s largest town as long ago as 1790. Now, with a population of about 2,100, Guilford is by no means considered a large community. Yet with its beautiful old covered bridges, churches, and one-room schoolhouse, Guilford maintains an unmistakable sense of history while at the same time having a reputation as one of the truly unique small communities in southern Vermont. Guilford has some of the most quintessential small town landmarks in all of Vermont. Sites like the Christ Church, Broad Brook House, and Guilford Center Meeting House were all built in the early 19th Century and are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These buildings are found in what is considered the historic Guilford Center; shop for great local products at the Guilford Country Store, visit the charming Guilford Free Library, or even see some of the exhibits at the Guilford Historical Society Museum to learn more about the area and its history. Green Gem Yurt Farm Stay

It's lambing time!!! This is the best time of year to visit us, as maximum cuteness is running around just a short walk across the suspension bridge from where you will be staying! We currently have 11 newborn lambs all less than two weeks old (two new arrivals today!) and two ewes are still waiting to deliver. Who knows...maybe they will wait til you get here! Our farm was named after the summer home of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. Trollhaugen Farm means Troll hill, but the only real trolls around these parts are the sheep. Our farm has sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks that you are welcome to visit. The yurt sits under the trees next to a babbling brook. A suspension bridge connects you to the farm area. The yurt is private and has a fire pit right out back where you can grill or just sit and enjoy the fire. The colorful yurt offers a comfy four poster bed, a small kitchen area and a bathroom with shower and composting toilet. This is a great place for children, bikers, swimmers, hikers or anyone who just wants to get away from it all for a few days. There are many lovely hikes, one of which takes you to a pond you can swim in. You can also hike up in the woods behind the yurt. Newfane village is one of the most picturesque villages in Vermont, with a courthouse on the green. There are two restaurants in Newfane, two coffee shops, a flea market on Sundays, and a great antique store. We are close to Brattleboro, home to one of the best coops in the northeast, as well as many fun stores and an art museum. Please come visit us!
