We love camping, and when we decided that state campgrounds and the like were just too busy, we found this amazing, secluded property on a small lake with no public access. There is a cabin on the property, which is available for limited rentals. However, we have a great flat yard just a short (2 min) walk to South Pond thats perfect for a tent. There's a rustic outhouse, fire pit, picnic table, and usually games like badminton setup. Our property is a couple miles down a private dirt road. Fishing is great (with a license of course), and the water is perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding.

This property overlooking the beautiful Connecticut river (no access to) has two cabins to choose from, one sleeps two people and the other can accommodate three. The property is such a peaceful spot! We have a rustic outhouse, and showers can be taken in the main farmhouse on the property if you would like, available Monday thru Saturday from 8am to 9am. So that means Sundays are not available or evenings. The cabin is outfitted with a comfy bed, fridge, and microwave and coffee maker. We sell firewood to sit around a cozy campfire at night and stargaze! You can even purchase a S'mores package as well! Enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings and listen to the birds. Bottled water is included as well and placed in your fridge upon arrival. Potable water also easily accessible. We will do our best to make you feel at home away from home. In a way that is never intrusive, we respect your privacy. Come and unwind with nature all around you. We are very pet friendly! And ask that all dogs are on a leash while outside. Also, pets are not to be left in the cabins unattended at any time. So, with all that said get yourself and your pets here and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on your deck looking out to the river. Don't set an alarm, the loons or geese may wake you first! Listen to the birds and relax! And if luck is with you, you might spot a bald eagle! Want to play with goats? We have them! Come say hi to Sam and Frodo! Wise Pines is a holistic and sustainable Inn/Hiker Hostel with a unique farm stay experience. It sits on 40 acres of land with wooded trails and a pond to sit by. The owners of the property, Chelsey and Jon live with with their two young kids and dogs on the premises. The property is in the woods rustic woods of Vermont, amongst all of its seasons. Please come prepared with a vehicle and shoes that are suited for the season of your arrival (mud, snow and ice) for both our property and the town road we live on. Checking in during daylight hours is advised. Nearby, the town of Woodstock in only minutes away with cute shops and restaurants. There are many local hikes, national and state parks, the Quechee Gorge, white water rapids, The VAST (snowmobile trails), ski resorts and array of local events to attend.

The river house is an off grid house/cabin on 20 acres surrounded by thousands of acres of protected national forest. It is a half mile hike-in or 4 wheel drive in up a logging road. It is very private, with running water and a shower and 1 1/2 bathrooms, a loft, 2 bedrooms and ping pong table. A stream runs through the property that has small swimming holes and larger swimming holes are just a short drive away. Hikes galore are just out the door, and many many more are just a short drive away.

The property features perennial gardens, a pond, open meadows, forestland, and picturesque southerly views from the top of the north meadow. The tent, van and glamping sites are thoughtfully located in protected nooks in the forestland and along the forest's edge. The cabin is in a natural setting. The amenities in the cabin and outdoors made for a flexible but relaxing stay. The surrounding towns were easily accessible for shopping and exploring. I had a great stay at Ryegate. The cabin was warm and homey, a nice break from camping when the rain and cold arrived. Jessica was welcoming, communicative and responsive. She provided good information about the stay and was kind enough to let me use the shower in the farmhouse, which was much appreciated. The cabin really has all you need... shelter, a cozy bed, a microwave, fridge, and coffee station. Sitting on the front porch with coffee overlooking the river and the mountain tree line is a wonderful way to spend a peaceful morning! The cabin is decorated very cute, which is a nice bonus. Note: You need to be up for a bit of outdoor life ... like using an outhouse and washing dishes in a sink outside. It isn't primitive but it is glamping.

Weekend Trip to Quiet Green Mountain Lake Camp

It was a great location to the pond. The addition of the kayaks made it even better. The cabin is cozy with the wood stove and perfect for our family. Loved the outdoor shower. The fire pit was perfect for making s'mores on the clear night among the stars. As I spent our last morning looking over the water with a loon swimming by fishing for breakfast, I realized that there is a reason this place is called Eden.

11/10 vibes. Caitrin and Hardy have set up an amazing little mountain bike haven at Slate Valley. Came in with some friends on a Friday and joined a group ride Caitrin organized for the community and then post ride pizza made by Hardy with this insane pizza oven he built by hand. Wonderful people and even better hospitality. This place is an absolute gem.

Weekend Trip to The TrailHouse

We spent this past weekend staying in the Cabin at the Trailhouse during the Slate Valley Epic and were highly impressed with all aspects of our stay. The cabin was recently renovated and slept 3 of us comfortably with an air mattress in the loft. The cabin is in a beautiful location next to a farmhouse surrounded by biking trails - it is a mountain biking dream location! We did several rides right from the house and enjoyed passing by the cabin during the Slate Valley Epic ride. This is an extremely cool spot and we quickly booked a return trip to come back. Caitrin and Hardy were awesome hosts - fun to talk with and super helpful during our stay. The cabin, showers, and toilets were built really well and we really enjoyed the porches on both sides of the cabin for hanging out. This spot is a gem and I would highly recommend a stay here (especially for mountain bikers). Looking forward to our return to this special spot!

Weekend Trip to Wise Pines

Our weekend at Wise Pines was an incredible experience. The lodging and ammneities far exceeded my expectations. Private rooms had fans and sound machines, very appreciated for the moms in our group enjoying undisturbed night sleep. The bunkhouse offered comfortable accommodation and our group loved the drawn curtains for each bunk. The treehouses were a joy to stay in, very comfortable and cozy. We booked the entire property for our weekend trip and spent a lot of time in the lodge enjoying the art books and games, as well as utilizing the stunning yoga studio for our own restoration. The space offers yoga classes as well! Highly recommend a trip to Wise Pines whether you're a solo traveler/hiker looking to connect with others or a group seeking a restorative nature getaway.
