we love love love Grateful Acres! this is our third year and we can’t wait to come back again! Seeing Stephanie and Noah is like seeing old friends. They are so warm and welcoming and we are so happy to see them. Our stay at Sunshine Cabin was fantastic as usual and we especially appreciated that we can pay in advance for wood and for trash removal. We hope to see you again in the fall, but if not, we’ll definitely see you next year!

This was by far one of my favorite Hip Camps to date. If you’re looking for peace and quiet this is it. I had rainy weather so my regular hikes were canceled, but there are so many paths and rural roads to walk on in the woods around there. It was so nice to just be able to walk in the woods , right from where I was camping. The host brought warm, freshly made sourdough bread just as I finished my set up. Delicious! It made great breakfast sandwiches all week with his chickens eggs. Great add ons. I got the honey for my friend and she absolutely loved it. Great communication. Cell service is iffy, which I enjoy- I was able to walk to the end of the road to pick up my messages and texts, along with looking up what the weather was going to do. The spot where you camp with a RV is close to the road, but I think I saw three cars the whole week I was there and the rocks and trees pretty much keep you private. I am very sensitive to noise, and this place really fit the bill for being quiet.

I really enjoyed tent camping on Thomas’s property. My Cathedral Pines site really felt as though I was deep in the forest. It was so peaceful and relaxing.

Weekend Trip to Sunrise Farm

Stunning landscapes, one of the best sunrises in the state from site 1 in our 16' travel trailer. Clean, accommodating, easy to find. Just off the beaten path enough to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Relaxing hiking trails, easy but fun 3 hole disc golf course, and the dogs loved the pond and open fields! Having power and water is a nice bonus with the option of an outhouse, We will be back! Roy is an excellent host with excellent communication, felt like we were renting from someone we already knew. Can't recommend enough!

Weekend Trip to Tripp Mine Gemstones & Camping

If getting to collect minerals all day is your idea of a good time (like it is to me), this is the place for you! This mine has such great variety that you certainly won’t get bored. It was a treat to have the whole place to myself (most of the time). The ceremony site is beautiful. Very quiet and private and a great place to relax after a day of collecting. I will certainly be returning!

You would be hard pressed to find a better camp site. No showers here, but our site was ample, with a nice table and fire ring. Other amenities are close by. Best of all, you have all of Mt. Greylock at your very doorstep. Less than ten minutes to town. And Christian is an affable and thoughtful host, responsive and welcoming.

2 nights at Grateful Acres Vermont

Stephanie and Noah were very friendly and welcoming, we felt like we were at home. The Daydream Cabin was clean and cozy. The view of the sunset was fantastic. My wife and I will definitely be returning for more relaxing getaways. I highly recommend this campground.

We had a wonderful stay at John’s blueberry Orchard. Incredibly private and quaint. The campsite is tucked back into the woods away from the road by the little pond and the Orchard and Sugar shack created a very sweet and romantic atmosphere. John was incredibly kind and responsive to messages and the coffee, honey, and sourdough bread or to die for. Absolutely no trouble with wildlife whatsoever. With 100% stay here again.

This was our second time camping here, and it was again wonderful. Jo was incredibly accomodating as we navigated getting out of the city, and the a-frame is so cozy! We also loved the (brand new) outdoor showers. On the rainy day we checked out nearby restaurants and Berkshire towns - especially recommend Great Barrington. We'll definitely be back!

Our farm is nestled along a country road between several other farms, mostly horses and a special needs/therapy farm, we are hobby farmers/homesteaders. The Guilford Fairgrounds is less than 1/4 mile away and has many hiking and biking trails. The land was originally part of a colonial Glebe Trust with the Church of England and divided up, the original 100+ year farmhouse and barn can be seen from many of the campsites. Guilford, Vermont is located in the southeast of Windham County, resting along the Massachusetts border to the south and New Hampshire not far to the east. A community with a long and interesting history, Guilford was actually Vermont’s largest town as long ago as 1790. Now, with a population of about 2,100, Guilford is by no means considered a large community. Yet with its beautiful old covered bridges, churches, and one-room schoolhouse, Guilford maintains an unmistakable sense of history while at the same time having a reputation as one of the truly unique small communities in southern Vermont. Guilford has some of the most quintessential small town landmarks in all of Vermont. Sites like the Christ Church, Broad Brook House, and Guilford Center Meeting House were all built in the early 19th Century and are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Welcome to Wequamps Haven in South Deerfield, with one of the nicest views of Mount Sugarloaf and North Sugarloaf Mountain, which together form the body of Wequamps of the local native legend. We have one camper site available, located on the edge of our 40 acres of protected land. Your site is on the old farm road near open, farmed fields, behind a well settled neighborhood near downtown. It is out of site of the main road and most neighbors, but still close to all the amenities in town. Half the acreage is flat, tillable land currently farmed by local farmers. The rest is pasture and woodland located on the hillside, abutting state park land which is part of Mount Sugarloaf Reservation. The view of the mountains and open farmland is beautiful at any time of year and the hillside pasture is a great place to watch the sun set over the valley below. It is the perfect site if you want a quiet, peaceful place to relax without going too far from civilization. Since it is an in-town location, it is easy to get to, close to I-91 and Routes 5&10. We are centrally located between Northampton, Amherst and Greenfield, which are all a short ride away, along with all the restaurants and attractions they have available. There are plenty of places nearby to walk, hike, bike, fish, kayak and swim so you can take full advantage of all the region has to offer. You may see rabbits, groundhogs, deer, opossum and numerous birds on the property. We have a resident red-tailed hawk and often spot pileated woodpeckers. You may occasionally hear coyotes or owls in the distance. Feel free to stroll the old farm road or enjoy our large backyard and covered patio which are areas we are happy to share as common spaces with our guests. Explore the lush Pioneer Valley or the many hill towns in our cozy western Mass. mountain ranges for all the farm stands, antique shops, historic sites or outdoor activities you could possibly hope for within easy reach. There are too many wonderful sights to see to list here but let us know your areas of interest and we’ll be happy to help you find them. We currently have 11 newborn lambs all less than two weeks old (two new arrivals today!) and two ewes are still waiting to deliver. Who knows...maybe they will wait til you get here! Our farm was named after the summer home of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. Trollhaugen Farm means Troll hill, but the only real trolls around these parts are the sheep. Our farm has sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks that you are welcome to visit. The yurt sits under the trees next to a babbling brook. A suspension bridge connects you to the farm area. The yurt is private and has a fire pit right out back where you can grill or just sit and enjoy the fire. The colorful yurt offers a comfy four poster bed, a small kitchen area and a bathroom with shower and composting toilet. This is a great place for children, bikers, swimmers, hikers or anyone who just wants to get away from it all for a few days. There are many lovely hikes, one of which takes you to a pond you can swim in. You can also hike up in the woods behind the yurt. Newfane village is one of the most picturesque villages in Vermont, with a courthouse on the green. There are two restaurants in Newfane, two coffee shops, a flea market on Sundays, and a great antique store. We are close to Brattleboro, home to one of the best coops in the northeast, as well as many fun stores and an art museum. Please come visit us!

This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Located between the Harriman reservoir and Lake Raponda, both great for boating, fishing and swimming. As well as the Deerfield River across the street, which runs through town. There is a public hiking trail that goes through the property. It goes from the Fairview ave. boat launch in Wilmington, all the way up to West Dover. You can access this at the back of the site. The site is only a minutes drive from downtown Wilmington, or you can hike/bike there on the trail (approx 15 min). In Wilmington there is plenty of shopping, gifts, coffee, restaurants, gas, liquor store. I also have dry, split firewood available for $5 on site. Please don't bring your own unless it is prepackaged from shaws or bought from one of the local sellers right around me. Transportation of out of state firewood can bring invasive beetles to our forests...

Pitch your tent in a sacred private white pine forest or closer to the trail-head with access to a charcoal grill, a huge fire circle and a picnic table. If you prefer a roof over your head, check Fox Farm Cottage @ Fox Farm. Located ideally on a trail-head that leads to the West River Trail (a 36-mile scenic trail through the West River Valley – eventually linking Brattleboro, Dummerston, Newfane, Townshend, Jamaica and South Londonderry) and the West River, offering opportunities to hike, fish, swim, ski, snow shoe and bike. The Marina Bar and Restaurant is a 2 mile hike or bike ride from the camp site (via the West River Trail) and is a fun way to see the beauty of Vermont and partake in some excellent indoor/outdoor dining with views of the water. Currently there are two areas available to campers; The Pine Forest and the Council of the Elders. The Pine Forest is a shaded circular area that is very spiritual and quiet. There are currently 3 camp sites in the Pine Forest. The Council of the Elders is a more open (again circular) area that abuts The Pine Forest and has a large fire pit as it's centerpiece, surrounded by the Elder Pine trees. I have had up to 2 campers and an occasional van/camper at the Council of the Elders. I have most recently had requests to book the entire Pine Forest for guests who are traveling together and want privacy- and Ido my best to work with people to accommodate any needs. Please bring your own firewood if you intend to have a fire. I offered wood to guests in the past when I was able but found that tricky to manage as there are times I myself am out of wood. There is plenty of felled wood all around as the property is surrounded by a dense forest and guests are welcome to gather that to supplement fire making. In my experience as a host, I have noted that folks come together and build mini-communities, share food, fires and is generally a positive vibe. Some come for privacy and solitude, which has not been an issue thus far. All in all the energy is upbeat and folks make friends along the way- me too! Brattleboro is a funky, hipster town with many excellent restaurants and much to see and do. For winter enthusiasts Mount Snow is a 30 minute drive and folks can cross country ski and snowshoe right from their camp sites to the 36 mile trail. The Hipcamper can expect privacy yet easy accessibility to the homeowner for tips and ideas to support a positive experience. Campers may be greeted and visited my friendly Bernese Mountain Dog's, Loki Bear and Levi!

Our campground features a variety of sites, including several along the river available for nightly rentals. Each site is equipped with water and 30 amp electric service, ensuring a comfortable stay. For those on seasonal sites, cable TV and Internet service can be accessed through Comcast, although these amenities are not available for nightly rentals. Additionally, more than half of our sites come with direct sewer hookups for added convenience. At West River Camperama, you can enjoy a range of outdoor activities, from swimming in the pool to exploring the nearby river. The serene location, combined with friendly staff and fellow campers, creates a welcoming atmosphere that enhances your summer experience.
