Site 1 (with entrance 70 yards south of the farmhouse) is best for camping in with up to 20 foot trailers or multiple tents …on the large flat spaces in the 25 acre field to choose from. Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear. We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest). - PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($12.50) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use). Beautiful and plenty of wildlife nearby... as well as Outhouses are marked on Map we provide with solar lights marking them at night. Do Not Leave food out when camping or away from site. The Guilford Fairgrounds is less than 1/4 mile away and has many hiking and biking trails. The land was originally part of a colonial Glebe Trust with the Church of England and divided up, the original 100+ year farmhouse and barn can be seen from many of the campsites. Guilford, Vermont is located in the southeast of Windham County, resting along the Massachusetts border to the south and New Hampshire not far to the east. A community with a long and interesting history, Guilford was actually Vermont’s largest town as long ago as 1790. Now, with a population of about 2,100, its by no means considered a large community yet with its beautiful old covered bridges, churches, and one-room schoolhouse, Guilford maintains an unmistakable sense of history while at the same time having a reputation as one of the truly unique small communities in southern Vermont. Guilford has some of the most quintessential small town landmarks in all of Vermont. Sites like the Christ Church, Broad Brook House, and Guilford Center Meeting House were all built in the early 19th Century and are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Council of the Elders is a more open (again circular) area that abuts The Pine Forest and has a large fire pit as it's centerpiece, surrounded by the Elder Pine trees. I have had up to 2 campers and an occasional van/camper at the Council of the Elders. I have most recently had requests to book the entire Pine Forest for guests who are traveling together and want privacy- and Ido my best to work with people to accommodate any needs. Please bring your own firewood if you intend to have a fire. I offered wood to guests in the past when I was able but found that tricky to manage as there are times I myself am out of wood. There is plenty of felled wood all around as the property is surrounded by a dense forest and guests are welcome to gather that to supplement fire making. In my experience as a host, I have noted that folks come together and build mini-communities, share food, fires and is generally a positive vibe. Some come for privacy and solitude, which has not been an issue thus far. All in all the energy is upbeat and folks make friends along the way- me too! Brattleboro is a funky, hipster town with many excellent restaurants and much to see and do. For winter enthusiasts Mount Snow is a 30 minute drive and folks can cross country ski and snowshoe right from their camp sites to the 36 mile trail. The Hipcamper can expect privacy yet easy accessibility to the homeowner for tips and ideas to support a positive experience. Campers may be greeted and visited my friendly Bernese Mountain Dog's, Loki Bear and Levi!

I loved being there. Easy to find. Lovely to walk around the farm. Enjoyed the alpacas, chickens and turkeys. The staff was easy to communicate with via text. Electric, water and fire pit all easy to find and use.

Gorgeous location! What a cool spot. Directions brought us right up the road that runs between the two main houses- Your classic white antique farmhouse on the left & the newer house on the right. Just past the house & down around back, we loaded up 2 big bins of firewood & headed down the hill to the campsite entrance on the right. There are 2 ponds along the road where RV's & vans can park, no fire pits, & kind of out in the open for us. The lower pond & camp site was lovely, but little tricky to get our little schoolie parked in close to the fire pit area, plus it was a bit wet & mushy, (understandably, in late November) so we decided to walk down & see if there was a dryer option. We found a few more drive-in campsites each with picnic tables, fire pits, a little outhouse & level, nicely woodchipped, tent spots. It's all pretty obviously marked with painted signs & little solar lights. Its adorable. We parked our bus down there since it was cold as heck & we wanted to be very close to a bonfire! This area was also more private, in the edge of the woods under the trees. We had the whole place to ourselves. We had a huge bonfire, while it lightly snowed. Beautiful.

We had a wonderful time. The view was spectacular. The accommodation suited our needs. Having to outdoor compost potty with a scenic view was a plus for outdoors camping. We had heavy rain, but we were prepared. Mike had that wonderful pizza oven that we took full advantage of making so delicious pizza. We plan on returning to repeat our adventure.

We had a great time camping here! We participated in two glass blowing classes while we were there and Robert & Kathy were such warm and hospitable hosts! We enjoyed some great meals at their fabulous recommended restaurants and even had a magical evening star gazing at their grand opening of their Taft Hill Farm Observatory!

Fantastic communication! The road into this site was fantastic! The site was as advertised. Noah and his mother Steffanie run a beautiful grateful Dead themed property! We stayed in sight one I had a picnic table and a fire pit Wood was close by and reasonably priced at five dollars!

The very best thing about our night here was the loaf of fresh sourdough bread we preordered. Delicious!! Exceptional flavor and texture. The site was great too. Very private, level enough we didn’t need leveling blocks for our van. Beautiful spot.

Weekend Trip to Grateful Acres Vermont

Absolutely wonderful place! The views of both sunrise and sunset are breathtaking, the location is perfect, and the property is very well maintained. Our host, Stephanie, was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Grateful Acres is just 25 minutes from great restaurants and coffee shops, and only 5 minutes from the stunning Somerset Reservoir and nearby hiking trails. We loved our stay and would love to come back!
