Welcome to our quiet 262-acre farmstead! We offer an immersive rural Green Mountain experience, yet only 25 minutes from the lively, artsy towns of Brattleboro and Wilmington. Enjoy a private campsite nestled next to a tranquil pond. Soar over our gardens on epic tree swings. Hidden trails bring you through dense forests, past ancient hemlock trees to secluded swimming holes. Ancient stone structures and newer stacked boulders and flower gardens add to the natural beauty all around you. We have one friendly off-leash dog, Oliver, an Lavender, that roam freely and may want to make friends with you. (And if you ignore them, they will leave you alone). We have laying hens, goats, and piglets that you are welcome to visit! We love animals -- as you can tell -- but are unable to host campers with dogs. While cozing up to a campfire, you might hear the calls of birds of the deep forest like the hermit thrush and the barred owl, or the call of coyotes on the far ridge. We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of unbroken forest that offer habitat to moose, bear, and deer, and numerous other wildlife. (Don't worry -- these animals are very shy and likely to run in the other direction if they see you.) Pitch your tent on Thistledew campsite and enjoy a cedar tent platform, fire ring, rustic picnic table, and direct access to the beautiful forest and miles of walking trails. The campsite is a gentle 25-foot walk from the parking spot. Quill Nook Farm is 25 minutes from artsy, outdoorsy Brattleboro, VT and I-91, and 25 minutes from the quaint village of Wilmington, with restaurants, breweries, and shopping. Mount Snow is 40 minutes away via Routes 9 and 100, and we’re only 45 minutes from the Mass MoCA art museum in North Adams, Mass. The Harriman Reservoir is located 20 minutes away and provides a variety of spaces for boats, kayakers, swimmers, picnic areas with grills and more! Do you want an “off the beaten path” hike or swimming hole with rocks for sunbathing? We can direct you to several secluded spots on our property or within 15 minutes. The Green River covered bridge and log dam is 10 minutes down the road, and you can sample from several farmsteads and art galleries in the area. Interested in homesteading or farming? Would you like a historic walking tour of ancient stone structures on the land? We love to share our expertise — ask about our tours and experiences.

"Romance" Private Pondside Campsite

100%

Tent site · Sleeps 4
This family-friendly, swim and tree-swing site is also a ripe spot for "Romance." Pitch your tent in a private forest nook next to our 1/2-acre spring-fed pond, just 200 feet from your car down a secluded woodland path. Fall asleep to the call of the barred owl and the sound of tree frogs and crickets around the pond. Walk up to still, tranquil water and dew-soaked grass. Sit in the Adirondack chairs or on one of our meditation boulders with the pond all to yourself and cook breakfast over the firepit. How about an afternoon dip in the pond, or a fiery sunset aglow with a ridgeline view of sugar maples? The "Romance" site is tucked away in the woods, with a woodland trail out the back of the site to the entire 262-acre property. The ancient stone cairns nearby and the stonewall intersecting the pond are places we like to visit often to get into a quieter frame of mind and fall back in love with each other and with nature. (Note: During set daytime hours, our family and other farm visitors may also stroll through and visit the pond.) Amenities are located 300 feet from the tent site at the Moonhouse bathroom. Trails lead to a private swimming hole on Pond Brook, epic tree swings, and miles of hiking trails. Walk down the driveway past our farmhouse to visit the farm animals (chickens and pigs, at the moment). You're a short drive from attractions like the Green River crib dam, Harriman Reservoir, and attractions in Brattleboro, Wilmington, and more. We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of unbroken forest that offer opportunities to have uninterrupted, secluded time in nature. 200-Acre Riverwalk RV/Tent Site

100%
(3)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 4 · Vehicles under 45 ft
The most vehicle-accessible campsite on our farm, Riverwalk is ready for you just a 1/4 mile drive up our quiet farm road. Pull your RV, van, or car into the large open "lumber landing" and you're here. Your campsite is a sunny, grassy knoll with 200 acres of forest to yourself. There's plenty of space to situate your camper. Set up your tent just steps away from your car. Either way, you've traveled a world away -- nestled under a majestic tulip-poplar tree, ready to sleep bathed in the sound of the Green River. Wake up refreshed and carry your mug on a short grassy downhill 5-minute walk to the bank of the Pond Brook and our epic brookside tree swing. A second woodland trail direct from the door of your RV or tent takes you past ancient troll-like white pines over the Green River. Want an easy roadside walk among colorful sugar maples (in season)? A nice hour-long 2-mile loop starts here. The Riverwalk site is "no frills" -- it's all about the secluded setting and direct access nature direct from your vehicle. Amenities are available to you by walking or driving (cars and smaller trucks only) 1/4-mile further up the farm road. There you can use the communal "Moonhouse shed" bathroom with sink, spigot, composting toilet and electrical outlets for charging. Firewood access is also provided there. We're there, too, if we or our dog, cats and farm animals can do anything to enhance your stay. Riverwalk is our most secluded campsite away from core of our farm. You'll sleep 1/4-mile away and out of earshot of either the road or the farmhouse, alone among 200 unbroken acres of our forest. Also, the Riverwalk site is directly adjacent to the quiet farm road that goes through our property. A couple of vehicles per day -- usually us, going to school or back from town -- pass through. Quill Nook Farm is in the rural Green River valley of the Green Mountains, 25 minutes from artsy, outdoorsy Brattleboro, VT and I-91, and 25 minutes from the quaint village of Wilmington, with restaurants, breweries, and shopping. Mount Snow is 40 minutes away via Routes 9 and 100, and we’re only 45 minutes from the Mass MoCA art museum in North Adams, Mass. The Green River covered bridge and log dam is 10 minutes down the road, and you can sample from several farmsteads and art galleries in the area. You may hear woodland birds like the hermit thrush, coyotes on the opposite ridge at night, and occasionally we see porcupines passing through. The Riverwalk site is currently our only site that allows pets. Please keep them on-leash.
