Bring the family for a secluded and private wilderness experience surrounded by 60 acres of forest. This wilderness camping paddock sits within our organic permaculture farm growing fruits, veggies, nuts and flowers. Set up camp in the shade on a gently sloping paddock all to yourself. A genuine wilderness experience with forest bathing, spring fed creeks and total peace for you and your group close to Melbourne. You can hopefully spot our resident platypus and kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, wombats etc. There’s also abundant bird life including lyre birds and eagles. Explore all the Yarra Ranges has to offer including a short walk to Shiprock Falls. Grab some farm produce from your hosts before you leave. We have added a composting toilet, a bush kitchen and shower with hot water and drinking water to our campground paddock. All materials are recycled or repurposed from other properties, wherever possible.

This was our second stay at Shiprock Farm campsite. Rob has done a great job of upgrading it with excellent facilities including a compost toilet, running water, fireplace, hot shower and kitchen shelter. Total privacy in serene natural beauty. We're already looking forward to our next visit. Rob is very accommodating, many thanks indeed.

Totally Amazing!
Totally amazing! Beautiful spot surrounded by Mountain Ash, with the ability to walk through bush to shiprock falls, and lovely hosts. The facilities are awesome, including composting toilet, hot shower and generous shelter with kitchen bench and sink. And best of all, you get the whole place to yourself. We only spent one night and it rained but this didn't dampen our enjoyment as the shelter was big enough to keep us all dry and comfortable as we enjoyed our dinner in the outdoors. We will definitely be back. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Connect with nature
We had a great camp. Rob has added some great facilities to make the experience comfortable whilst being mindful to take care of the natural beauty of the area. We were treated to some beautiful fresh basil from his permaculture garden. Lots of local wildlife to watch, fresh air and plenty of bird songs. A very pleasant stay.

Private and not far from city
We spent quite and relaxed Christmas at the Shiprock farm. Rob was kind enough let us wait for the RSA to fix my flat tyre at his nice place. Only issue we found is ‘electricity supply’. We were told there is an electricity socket we can use but it didn’t work. So we had to keep our cars running to generate electricity. Also the lights and water supply in the kitchen generated by rather smaller size solar panels and those stopped around 10pm to 9am next morning. Considering we stayed there very hot and sunny days, recommend bring your own generator in the winter time.

Wonderfully open space & kind hosts
Wonderful open space and the host’s were remarkably kind and attentive to our needs. Had more privacy than anticipated and it was everything we could’ve hope for and more. Rob even gave us a tour of the farm on our last day and his lovely wife shared some great insights into permaculture and their journey. Will definitely be back!

10/10. Beautiful location, excellent amenities, helpful host and great surroundings. Would definitely stay again. Shiprock falls just a 10min walk away and plenty of privacy from anyone staying nearby. Only recommendation is to bring gazebo or the like for shade in the summer as it is an open site.

Private camping for large groups
We camped at Shiprock Farm over the grand final weekend and it was spectacular! The camp site itself is private, secluded and extremely well kept. The compost toilet and shower were an amazing luxury, and the shelter was perfect for huddling around the campfire. I highly recommend this spot for groups of friends, families and anyone looking for a great time. Rob and Jesse were also incredibly helpful and responsive.

Shiprock Farm
We really enjoyed our stay at Shiprock Farm. Kylie and Rob are lovely hosts who are going to quite some effort to make their property as comfortable as possible for their guests. Since we first visited, they've installed a shelter, a fireplace, a composting toilet and a water tank. The site is a large, undulating, cleared area of approx 200m x 50m, surrounded by bush on all sides.
