Our cabin is $20 per person per night, but we have a minimum of 2 persons per night.  This means that the fee for a single person is $40 per night, (a single person must make the reservation for 2 people).  During fall deer hunting season, there is a minimum of 3 persons per nite, or $60 per night.

Our secluded one room rustic cabin is in a grove of trees looking over our 1/2 acre bluegill & bass pond.  It is well off the road in the Appalachian SE part of Ohio, and surrounded by the rolling hills of our grassfed cattle pasture.  We consider it rustic or primitive because there is a wooden outhouse & no electricity and no WiFi and poor cell service.  Expect to see chipmunks, squirrels, plenty of mice, and even deer.  After all, the cabin is in the woods surrounded by our cow pasture.  Please do not expect motel type conditions.  Please clean up after themselves, just as you would do on a camping trip.  This is not a modern cabin with conveniences, it is a rough cabin in which you are camping out under a roof.

Our farm is bordered by 5000 acres of The State of Ohio's mostly wooded Wolf Creek Wildlife Area open to public access.  Burr Oak State Park is 8 miles away, with boating, fishing, hiking and restaurant. The long distance Buckeye Trail passes through our farm. We frequently see deer, turkeys & over 120 species of birds on the farm. Nearby Chesterhill has Triple Nickle Restaurant offering our grassfed burgers & food from other local farmers.   McConnelsville is 11 miles away with restaurants, movies, grocery stores, etc.

Fresh frozen grass-fed beef available for sale at our on-farm store. Steaks, roasts, ground beef, and other cuts. Also fresh eggs and 13 kinds of Marjie's homemade jams & jellies & homemade apple sauce & apple butter.

We had a relaxing, comfortable stay at Pete and Marjies little cabin. The cabin is just like how a cabin should be, yes; there is some dust and cobwebs and a lil mouse poop here and there but it brought back all the childhood memories for me! We used the indoor propane stove for breakfast and the outdoor grill and fire pit for dinner. We bought 2 massive t bone steaks from their beef farm for dinner one night and they were incredible over the fire (only $20). The farm is surrounded by acres of hunting land and dirt roads that we cruised through in our free time. We also fished in the pond. Definitely bring a saw and you’ll have a endless supply of firewood. We also brought the dog and she had a blasts roaming all around the cabin and pond with no worries of running into anybody. We brought a sheet and just used the pull out couch but if you have a group going there’s more than enough beds upstairs although in the summer it gets muggy. Overall would definitely recommend and we will be coming back! \\ Only suggestion for Pete and Marjie is to cut a pathway down to the pond and around it for easier access to fish! //

Pete and Marjie’s land was perfect for what I set out to do - a solo retreat in the middle of July. My hope was to have solitude in a natural setting out of the way of endless mosquitos. This cabin provided just what I needed. I loved listening to the birds, walking the grounds, throwing a line into the pond, and spending time in the cabin as a cool breeze rolled through. The hot water for showering and dish cleaning is very helpful and the gas stove top made cooking easy. Marjie met me at the front house for check in and was warm and informative. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Had such a great experience here. Cabin was clean and well kept, as were the grounds. Pete was a very kind man who greeted us as we rolled up. The steaks we bought were delicious as well. Highly recommend!

Pete and Marjies cabin stay was awesome. We really enjoyed the seclusion. Marjie was so nice to me and my wife. The cabin was quiet, full of pots, pan, forks, spoons, and paper towels. Fishing in their private pond was a blast. My wife caught 7lb bass and to the hot grease it went...

Great scenery, quiet, cozy cabin! This sure beats setting up a tent at a state park. The hot shower and plumbing in the cabin was a nice touch. It is rustic, so be prepared for an outhouse and no electric. We will definitely be back!!

We enjoyed our two days at the hunting cabin. It’s very private and relaxing. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch watching the family of Canadian Geese in the pond and listening to the rain on the metal roof. We loved watching the several varieties of woodpeckers coming and going and all the blue birds,

Pete and Margie’s cabin was the perfect weekend hideaway from the chaos of the city. I came in on a cold weekend, and they had the cabin nicely heated and ready to go for me. It was tidy and had everything I needed for a rustic, back-to-basics reset. It’s a very well built cabin, and the loft is quite warm for sleeping, despite the cold temps. There is running water and a well functioning propane stove for cooking. The kitchen had pots and plates and mugs. I brought all my backpacking gear, and didn’t need a thing. The outdoor privy was just that, and perfectly adequate for a rustic stay.
I enjoyed a walk down the country roads and reveled in the traffic free solitude.

Pete and Margie are wonderful people, and keep a beautiful farm, with happy energy all around. I can’t wait to go back!
