1 night at Pop's Place Camping

We enjoyed our stay at Pop's Place! They have a beautiful location full of country charm. Our site had a campfire ring, electric hookup and a gravel parking pad. There is also a large campfire circle with seating in the middle of the property. They have a clean porta-potty on site as well as a very cute outdoor shower. Even though our spot was near the road, there was hardly any traffic after dark. Michelle came out to greet us as soon as we arrived- she was a fantastic host! Thank you for having us Michelle- we had a very peaceful stay!

Weekend Trip to Triple D Retreat

If you’re looking for a quite place to relax With lots of fun things to do locally you will definitely want to check this place out. Lots of space for a couple or large group. The shelter is great along with a picnic table Fire Ring and a pit toilet. We will be back.

Excellent spot, great sites, peaceful surroundings, the fishing was fun and the Daniel's were very accommodating. Lovely property easy for us to get our 32ft Class C with tow vehicle in and out. We will certainly be back! My dogs loved it!

The drive up to the cabin was a bit tricky. I was a little worried the first time up the hill in the car. But let me tell you, once we were up the hill, it was our little place of solitude for the week. The pond was my daughter’s favorite! So many frog and toad sounds at night. So fun. Fire pit and hot tub were also a huge bonus. The bed was very nice, we didn’t attempt to raise it at all; we just left it for our trip but it was the perfect little cabin for us. Esther was extremely attentive with anything I needed during our stay or any questions I had. Brent even surprised us with some fire wood one day. They were very thoughtful! We would absolutely stay again!

This was a special gem ; like no other ,more like a scene from a children’s book , because it was so beautiful. The energy was peace. That’s his name. I don’t know what the hell their name is. The hospitality was outstanding. From the host , very kind people. Nice and clean.

Weekend Trip to Appalachian Retreat

I will be coming back here, guaranteed. The owner of the land I camped at, J, was a super cool, chill dude. The camp site was awesome with a huge space tucked right into the hills that provided the perfect mix of sun and shade. J even got the outdoor shower up and running for me. There was no cell service at the site but a 1 minute drive up of the hill and you've got it so you can efficiently post all your picks of this cool place to instagram 😊The local town, Marietta, also has anything you’d ever need. Can’t wait to go back!!

1 night at Hilltop Resorts and Campgrounds

This was a great campground!! The cleanest bathrooms and most wonderful showers that I've seen at a campground. The wagon was cute and cozy and fun!

Weekend Trip to Appalachian Retreat

This location was awesome! Quiet and beautiful, with trails that connect to the nearby forest, and no cell service! Perfect for disconnecting for a few days. Marietta, Ohio is just a few minutes away with shopping, dining, fishing, kayaking - so much to do and see there. J.R.'s property is huge, with lots of hiking opportunities. The fire pit has a bench seat that was perfect for cozying up when we got back to camp. Also, it was nice to have the composting toilet - it kept us from having to find a dump station on our way home to empty the RV tanks. We saw deer, turkey, owls, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, and SO MANY FIREFLIES!! The meadows matched the evening sky - it was awesome. J.R.'s father met us as we arrived and, let me tell you, that man is a gem! Through our conversation, we realized that he (at one time) not only worked in my hometown, but in Shannon's hometown, too! It's a small world. The amenities were just as described in the listing, with a steady power supply, picnic table, BBQ grill, fire pit, composting toilet, and a nice platform for tent camping. J.R. even gave us great recommendations for day trips (I even caught some fish!). Overall, a great escape from the rat race. We'll be back!

It was a really nice place and they were really chill. I just pulled up to my site, and nobody bothered me all night it was quite nice to have the solitude and nice to feel trusted as well. A feeling you don’t get often

Weekend Trip to Altenbrauch Farm

It was a great spot that we choose. I wasn't aware that the whole property was first come first serve in a sense but when we got there, there wasn't anyone else so we had lots of spots to choose from. It was very simple to get there despite not having an cell service which was great in my option. It wasn't too far to the nearest gas station or the local town, just drive carefully. The rules were very clear and easy enough to understand and respect. The bathroom was very well kept and clean along with the shower. Overall we had a great time and would definitely come back!

Weekend Trip to Limestone Bluffs

Finding the turn for the property was a bit tricky as the sign is covered by foliage but other than that directions were very straightforward! Our site was nestled in the back and was perfectly shaded to beat the heat! Everyone (pup included) was able to enjoy without being miserable in the heat/humidity. Great site for us to be able to have 2 hammocks, kitchen station, tent and dog zipline tie out set up and not feel cramped. Toilet was really well kept and just steps away from the site so really convenient. Wish the trails were more clearly marked or communicated though. There was also a picnic table in a center location that could be used and great spot for stargazing. Would come back!

Weekend Trip to Limestone Bluffs

Located on the back of the loop, the wolves site felt very secluded! The tent platform made for an easy setup. We were able to barely get a 10x10 tent on it while using ground stakes and tie outs for the anchors. Site was clean as well as the bathroom. My only suggestion, noticed with Hipcamp in general, bring your own wood. The wood stack was completely empty and when we asked ahead of time about it, the response felt automated in favor of not needing to bring your own supply. We ended up grabbing a bundle ahead of time based on other reviews. Other than the wood, this was a great camp and we’d surely revisit!

Daniel was very kind and accommodating. It was our first time RV camping and we had a great time. Our 2 year old loved walking down to the pond and watching for fish. Our dogs appreciated having some space to run. Daniel even gave us some fresh potatoes from the garden. We will be back!

3 nights at Benton's on the Baileys

A great campsite not too far from beautiful hiking trails and parks. The host was very nice. Campsite was private but not too far from amenities. Bathrooms were clean and having access to firewood onsite was a plus. I'd definitely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Baileys Basecamp

The campsite was secluded, spacious, and lovely. The hill to the site was quite something. We were so thankful for Keith who hauled our gear with his UTV up to the site. We would have never made it without him. The trail system within a short walking distance from the site is an added perk. We sadly decided to leave a day early due to the heat (camping in almost 100 degrees is tough with a 6 year old). Keith was kind enough to take time on his Saturday to haul all of our gear down the hill. To also note, the bathrooms and showers at the bottom were spotless. After returning home we had a notification from Ross that we had left an item behind. We are so grateful to him for reaching out and making arrangements for us to get our gear. I would definitely recommend this site. The overall experience was wonderful.

You’ll encounter abandoned historical sites and relics dating back to the early 1800s, hidden away among the wooded hills of Ohio’s least populated county. If you're a lover of outdoor recreation, this is the place to be. Within about a half-hour drive, there are many opportunities for hiking, biking, horseback riding, kayaking, hunting and fishing, and birding. Nearby parks and forests include Hocking Hills State Park, Hocking Hills State Forest, Lake Hope State Park, Zaleski State Forest, the Moonville Rail Trail, Lake Alma State Park, Tar Hollow State Forest, and more!Set up camp wherever you like! There are 12 acres of open field space, surrounded by 50 acres of wooded hills and hollows with hiking trails and level spots to pitch tents. Vehicles can be driven to the field sites; we are still working on a road to access the hill sites by vehicle. The fields have about a dozen "permanent" sites with stone or metal fire rings and log seating. Portable fire rings are also available that can be moved anywhere. Dead wood for campfires is free to gather, or split firewood is available to purchase for $5/bundle. A toilet and solar shower are located at the center of the property. Forked Run State park features hickory and maple trees lining lake shores, making this a classic Appalachian beauty. Walk along one of the hiking trails where you can keep an eye out for white-tailed deer and gray foxes tucked away behind the blue phox and bloodroot wildflowers. Catfish, bluegill, largemouth bass, and crappie are plentiful for the taking if you plan on bringing your fishing pole, and a ten horsepower limit on boating guarantees to keep the waters calm. If you're interested in catching some deer or turkey for a pre-emptive Thanksgiving feast, be sure to bring your hunting license with you. A small sandy beach and athletic courts provide that perfect balance of recreation and relaxation.
