BOOKING CALENDAR BLOCKED FOR THE REMAINDER OF 2025 INTO 2026. PLEASE SEND A MESSAGE IF YOU WANT TO CAMP AND THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE, WE WILL ACCOMMODATE YOU. Our little campground began as Bailey Wayne Bike Camp. In 2023 we learned that Wayne National Forest wanted to drop "Wayne" from its name, so we decided to rename our campground and campsites in memory of Raleigh and Blue, two wonderful dogs who we wish were still with us. This area was once a booming coal mining town in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The hollow was made up of hundreds of company homes, several mines, and other company buildings. As the mines died, the forest slowly took over. In the 1980s the National Forest began acquiring ownership. Today, we are just a stone's throw from the new Baileys Trail System. My wife and I have been biking for years; we've spent a lot of time camping and biking in OH, KY, WV, and NC. We primarily ride gravel routes on our tandem mountain bike around Athens and Washington Counties in Ohio. Our property is 3 acres, which offers enough room to open up a couple primitive campsites so we can share the peacefulness of the forest.

Special restrictions for any RVs due to space limitations. No RVs permitted if the RV trailer has more than one axel. No self-contained drivable (class A or C) camper RVs if it has dual rear wheels. Camper vans are OK, and short single axel travel trailers. Enjoy this private, level campsite as if it were your own backyard. National Forest surrounds the property with easy access to Bailey's Mountain Bike Trail System and thousands of acres of National Forest. This site offers a tent pad, picnic table, fire pit, and can accommodate a couple of hammocks. The first bundle of firewood is included, with additional wood available. A shared pit toilet is only a few feet away. This site is very convenient to Nelsonville, fast food, grocery store, gas station, and laundromat. If mountain biking is your thing, Baileys Trail System has 25 miles completed, with over 60 more miles in the works.  And, don't forget about the great MTB trails just a short drive away at Strouds Run State Park and Lake Hope State Park. For the adventure motorcyclists, use camp as your base to spend the weekend exploring the backroads around the National Forest and the scenic gravel roads this area offers.  We have plenty of room to unpack your panniers and lighten your load for a couple days, and just a short ride into town for supplies or fast food.
