John’s land is well kept. He and his wife are great hosts. The restroom and showers were very clean. It was wonderful having them available to use. The nights were peaceful. The night sky was beautiful. We’ll definitely be back here.

It’s everything other reviewers have mentione; quiet, private, and the amenities offered makes it easy to feel comfortable wherever you fall on the rustic scale. They were also so kind and quick to reply with any questions. Everyone agreed we found the right spot for our annual family camping trip!

Our summer camping tradition!

It became a tradition to come too John and Julie at their site with friends! We love the commodity of the gazebo, the shade, the showers and the kitchen with all the convenience. It is always beautifully maintained and we always have such a great time. We rented the 3 sites and come with a group of friend. We had a great time and plan to come back before the winter!

Beautiful location and grounds. Three well dispersed campsites with picnic tables and fire rings. There’s a pavilion with flush toilets, showers, a refrigerator and a large covered concrete area. They also built a stage area where they plan on doing more concerts. John and Julie were great hosts. We were there for three nights. John greeted us to show us the lay of the land and then stopped by the next day to make sure we had everything we needed. Julie gifted us some of her beautiful natural handmade soaps. We really enjoyed our stay.

We had such a great time up here! John and Julie were so welcoming and kind! The area was in a beautiful field tucked away on a hilltop. The area was very private, and each campsite was spread out, if each were full it would still feel private. The land was very well maintained, and so were the bathrooms! It was so nice to have the luxury of a private bathroom and shower while camping, especially on a hot day. The trail and walkways around the fields were fun to explore and full of butterflies and birds! It was also close to town too, so it was easy to head in to visit some of my Athens favorites :) I’d absolutely recommend staying here, and will be back! I think this would be a really great spot to come back with a group of friends!

Couldn’t have asked for a better camping trip for me and my friends,, the owners are so kind and helpful, the space is big and private, the bathrooms are accessible and clean, and is a short drive from town so we could easily get more stuff if we needed,, we would 100% come back here again <3

What a wonderful location for a fall girlie camp trip! The grounds and facilities were wonderful and clean. We stayed at Site 2 which was nice and flat for tents and our camp kitchen. We can’t wait to come back!

John and his wife are amazing. The site is perfect and huge! Even if all three sites are being camped on you have lots of privacy. The trails around the property are great for hiking as well. The hot showers were a bonus we truly loved having.

What a great experience we had at the camp. John and his wife were so welcoming. Our site was intimate and private in the middle of such beautiful view, huge area with a great pavillon that saved us from the rain! We also really appreciated the fridge and the shower which were very clean. John was very attentive to any of our needs and we had a good laugh with the owners playing darts! What a gem. We went paddle boarding at the Strouds Run state park which has a beautiful lake. We already plan to return!

Peace and quiet

This place was great for a quiet night, peaceful time with the family. John showed us around and even provided fire wood since a tree fell and he has been cutting it up. The shelter on site had showers and bathrooms. Our dog was able to roam freely and get some exercise.

John's site is a gem! This is our second time here, this time with a larger group. It is private, beautiful, and the access to showers and toilets is terrific. Such a great spot to stargaze, hike, and see deer.

The camp site was well manicured. It had a nice shelter house with two full bathrooms. One was equipped for a handicapped person. They are nice and clean. The shelter house was totally ran by solar power. Very cool.

I loved car camping!!! My daughter and I love the spot and the shelter house. The shower water was a good temperature for my daughter to shower after the OU swim meet. Nice and quiet and beautiful to wake up and watch the sun rise. Will be staying again!

Wow! This is a beautiful location! We tent camped in late October and the view was gorgeous. We had plenty of space, firewood and the shelter house was a great bonus. Our kids enjoyed the stage, entertainment and hiking paths. John was a fabulous host! He was very kind, helpful, and quick to answer any questions.

This is a wonderful set-up. Had a nice fire cooked dinner, hung out on the patio, slept soundly. Loved the refreshing cold shower! Was able to exercise my dog in the fields before back on the road.

Another great stay at John and Julie’s oasis. Such kind hosts and this place can’t be beat. A starlit night for my wife and I, with fresh Lake Erie walleye cooked over an open fire. Looking forward to coming back.

This place is a hidden gem! Me, and two of my kids who went on this trip with me had an amazing time! Their land is absolutely beautiful, and even though there is two other sites, we had plenty of room to ourselves. The solar bath house was a nice touch considering I had a 18 y/o, and 9 y/o with me on this trip. We were greeted upon arrival by John and his wife to some great hospitality, and I'm already looking forward to returning here in the near future!

Unique Space Great for Jamborees

Great site with unique setup that is amazing for large group events or small ones looking for tons of space. Definite sense of isolation with fun hill climb and dense surrounding woods. Nice fire pits and came supplied with wood. Hosts are super friendly and the bathrooms are very nice. Will be back.
