Benton&#x27;s on the Baileys

The folks at this place seem absolutely lovely and it's not that they were misleading by any means. However, this spot is overpriced for what they offer. First of all, it is along a road that people drive fast on going sometimes 50 miles per hour. We found it very disruptive. And although during the night, very few cars passed by, while we were trying to set up our tent and cook dinner, people weredriving by at extremely high speeds on this dirt road and the whole camp got dusted out and it felt unsafe. It would have been nice to know that the road was directly next to our camp. The only place to walk around the area was on this road, and with the amount of cars flying by it was unsafe, and totally exposed with no privacy whatsoever. The facilities were nice, the bathrooms had toilets and showers, etc. But overall, we wouldn't recommend this spot to anybody for this price. It was not restful and relaxing. It was not secluded and private, and it was over priced.

We had a fantastic time here! Keith is amazing and we had 11 acres all to ourselves with our 5 kids and two dogs. Highly recommend!

Good spot! Creekside site is maybe a little small for tent camping but no issues with a 2-3 man tent. Good spot for a car camping rig though. Great host and the showers are great to have after a day of hiking!

Great camp site, great host

We loved camping here on top of the ridge! The site was beautiful, private, and with the UTV service was easy to access and transport our gear. The host was very responsive and kind, and was an excellent host. He got us more firewood when we needed it and even offered us farm fresh eggs. The bike trails near by were also excellent and provided a very fun weekend.

Gorgeous in the fall

We really enjoyed our stay! The land was beautiful, the spot was private, and we liked having the restrooms down the hill. The two bathrooms were clean and there were showers/towels provided and heaters on, we were surprised at how nice they were. Keith was friendly and carried our stuff up the hill in an ATV even though we had been expecting to do it ourself. The wood is a great deal for $5 and we had a ton of firewood including the deadwood on the ground. We brought our two dogs and it was nice being able to let them run around at the campsite, that was one of the reasons we didn't stay at a standard campground. This place is not too far away from the Hocking Hills trails (about 40 min), and next time we will have to check out the Bailey's trails as they are so convenient to this spot. We didn't have an issues with bugs or wildlife.

Perfect for Baileys and the NMF

Perfect spot to camp if you want to be close to Baileys for biking or the Nelsonville Music Festival. It was easy to park our pop up camper here. Keith was super kind and helpful.

This campsite is perfect for access to the bike trails. We camped with young kids and were able to go on rides with them. They could then hang out at the campsite while some of the group went on bigger rides that ended at the campsite.

We loved our stay! Keith’s shuttle made getting our gear up and down super easy. The bathrooms are clean with hot well water. Less than 20 minutes to drive to Athens. Thank you!

Great camp spot!

Great little campsite - perfect for a small camper or truck/car camping. It’s right on the main road with several direct access points to the Bailey’s trails, but was really pretty quiet and peaceful. The bathroom was nice, clean and spacious and a very short walk. The host, Keith, was very friendly and responsive. We will definitely be back!

A quiet and very relaxing place

I camp for quiet and peace. This campsite is perfect for that, but it's not suitable for women or children because you have to go down the hill to get to the toilet. It would be great if there were portable toilets nearby. The owner is very kind. We bought some fresh eggs for breakfast and they were huge and delicious. You can only get to the campsite with a 4WD vehicle. We were excited about that. If you don't have a 4WD, the owner will shuttle you there. So you need to let the owner know in advance what time you will arrive at the campsite. It's not suitable for people who prefer a well-equipped campsite, but I had a great time there.

Really enjoyed the privacy and peacefulness of the area. Plenty of space to spread out and Keith helped us get our stuff to/fro. I didn’t realize this was a walk in site and naively thought I could load up a wagon and drag it up the hill. Glad I listened to Keith. Bathrooms are also great, with running water and showers.

Had a great experience at Benton’s on Baileys’s. The campsite was clean and well maintained. The owner happily drove us up and down the path with our gear. The bathhouse was new and very clean with fresh towels. Would recommend for hikers and those looking to be surrounded by nature.

Keith was extremely helpful in getting all my gear up to the ridge! I just stopped for the night while traveling, and I had it the ridge all to myself. The bathroom is fantastic, and the campground is super close to the epic Baileys MTB trail system. Highly recommend!

We had a great time camping at Benton on the Bailey's. It was right near a dirt road but there was minimal traffic and was not an issue. The campsite is within riding distance from a couple mtb trailhead, which made it a nice spot. All accommodations were clean and nicely maintained.

A great campsite not too far from beautiful hiking trails and parks. The host was very nice. Campsite was private but not too far from amenities. Bathrooms were clean and having access to firewood onsite was a plus. I'd definitely stay here again.
