A no frills place to camp for the night under a beautiful starry dark sky. I camped here in November when it was dark both arriving and departing and the place was clearly marked with signs.

Dave's place was absolutely gorgeous! We woke up to the sound of cows after a restful nights sleep on flat ground. He was super kind and even surprised us with baked goods the morning we left. The view of the stars is unbeatable!

So quiet and beautiful! No facilities, so plan accordingly! Sunset was amazing and my only neighbors were the curious cows. Stars really put on a show on a clear night. David greeted me, brought me eggs and showed me where to park

Loved our stay here!!! It was a last minute booking, and it worked out perfectly. Peaceful stop among the pecan trees. The eggs were also fantastic!!! Thank you so much. Would definitely come again😀. David is a great host.

This was pure rural awesomeness! David is a great host who greets you then leaves you to your peace. I loved seeing the cows in the adjacent pasture and there are a couple of friendly horses across the road who might come to the fence and say hello. I had a relaxing few days here and will come back next time I'm in the Abilene area.

Dave was a good host. He communicated well and was accommodating (I had a late check in). The site (and instant booking option) worked out great for me as I booked only a few hours before my arrival. All in all a very good camp.

Great site for a stop for the night. Very secluded and quiet. The host is very friendly, came to my site and we talked for a couple of hours. And you really can't beat the price. 10/10, would stay again if in the area and needed the value.

Nice quiet spot to boondock. We saw some horses in a pasture next to us. Traffic wasn’t loud. Good place for a few nights of peace and quiet in a farm setting.

This is a beautiful slice of Texas countryside with wide open views. I’m sure the stargazing is amazing but I had a full moon so I didn’t get to see many. We did hear and see coyotes and hogs in the area so be smart with your trash. Get out there and enjoy the outdoors!

Pecan Orchard is a great primitive camping site. There is plenty of room, clearly defined, clean and the grass is mowed. Although the site is relatively close to a road it is quiet and isolated. There is plenty of space for kiddos or pets to safely roam. The site is within 10 minutes from Anson, and 30 minutes from Abilene. Cows, chickens and coyotes can be heard in the distance. Initially the goat heads were a bit much for my Shiz Tzus. I simply walked the dogs on the driveway. The sunrise, sunset and stars are spectacular at the Pecan Orchard. There was a heavy rain storm with high winds. David reached out to make sure e were okay.

I drove in at night (which was well come and I got great instructions that made it easy to know what to expect at the gate) and waking up was really neat to see the wide open surrounding. I think I was expecting to be able to drive my 4runner to a "square site" among the trees, but I guess maybe you bring your tent in like that if desired. It worked out fine though and I found a spot in the more grass amongst the other car campers. Ultimately, it was exactly what I needed for the night. A designated place to land and sleep before leaving the next morning.

Great deal, convenient stopover - as commented by another camper, careful with the goats head in the grasses, we had to pick several out of the dogs’ feet. Convenient drive to local Spring’s Shop for groceries. Only a potion of the field was cut but enough space for the several campers that were there overnight.
