A former cattle ranch from the 1800’s divided up in the 1960’s into acreages. We have a benignly, neglected corner of the old ranch with native pecan bottom. We have been here since 1980, preserving and expanding the wild.

So nice, we went there twice! It was so easy and comfortable for a last minute overnight get away to take advantage of excellent camping weather. Friendly communication and a well maintained campsite made for a relaxing and peaceful visit. Thanks again!

The campsite was absolutely lovely - well cared for with great amenities. I loved the bamboo maze and the access to the creek. The hosts really did everything they could to make their land and the campsite something special. Unfortunately, I wouldn't choose to camp here again because of the incessant barking of the next door neighbor's dogs.

Beautiful private camp spot
This camp site was wonderful from beginning to end. The land itself is beautiful with many nice trees and a small creek full of frogs. The picnic/fire pit area was incredible, I spent a fair bit of my evening by a nice fire. The restroom and shower facility was very nice, well kept, and clean.
I met Virginia at arrival then got settled in. Virginia was incredibly welcoming and kind, she even showed my about the property and made sure I was comfortable in the site.
I highly recommend this camp site to anyone seeking a private retreat with some incredible beauty. I will definitely camp here again, and I greatly look forward to it.
Thank you Virginia and Steve for this wonderful site.

This spot fulfilled all of my 5-year-old’s camping dreams (and all of my needs for a few comforts of home!)
1. Nice fire pit = s’mores galore!
2. Well maintained campsite and paths to the creek = he could help set up the tent and draw a map of the site. He loved exploring the trail and searching for tadpoles in the water while I relaxed and read.
3. Clean bathroom and nice sink! This made the trip very easy. Such a clean space with nice sparkly lights that came on at night! I was glad I brought some Castile soap and a hand towel, but sanitizer and toilet paper was provided.
Virginia was so kind to greet us and show us the property, plus made sure all went well the next morning (and showing the kiddo some amazing fossils!). This was the perfect spot for camping as a family for the first time! We lucked out with perfect weather, clear skies, and bluebonnets to greet us, too. I’d definitely recommend this spot to friends looking for an easy and welcoming campsite. Definitely dogs barking in the background but far off enough that it didn’t disturb our sleep, but light sleepers might want earplugs.
