The site is secluded and spacious. Fencing provides a solid barrier between the camp and the railroad tracks, and I felt safe with my dogs roaming freely. The gravel, fire pit, and driveway are VERY well maintained - you can tell the owner has put a lot of work into it.
If you can tolerate the persistent noise from the highway, it is a gem. But, it could be a deal breaker for some.

This was our second time staying here. We really appreciate the generous check in time (1pm) because we can drop our trailer and easily get in a hike, etc instead of losing a day. Easy access to 97 and we were left to ourselves. It’s a big area where you can easily position your equipment to maximize privacy- though we only saw 2 vehicles drive by the whole time we were there. We will be back!

We really appreciated having such a nice sized lot to ourselves. Our dogs were able to just relax outside of the van which we dont get to do often. Lovely sunsets and great access to everywhere we wanted to go.

Beautiful spot with a nice view of Smith Rock. Just a few miles from the park and completely private. I would definitely stay again! Oh and they were nice enough to let me keep my trailer there until I finished hiking. Super friendly and accommodating hosts. Definitely recommend.

My favorite hip camp spot so far... I've stayed here a couple times and will be back. It's relatively private, close to town, gravel area with lots of room. May not be ideal for kids, and the highway and railroad tracks are near by. It's worked grat for me and it's nice if you're looking for a group site

Wits End RV Camp
We really enjoyed this Hipcamp and will definitely return.
It was a perfect base camp and is located at the back of the property creating a great deal of privacy… we never encountered anyone during our stay.
We enjoyed the generous check in time (1pm) and the proximity to Hwy 97. Although dogs need to be on leash (cliff) the red cinder road on property is a perfect no traffic spot for a morning/evening walk after a day full of activities around Central Oregon.
One thing to note that we missed initially; once you arrive at the address, look for a “Red Rock Rd” sign that leads to a red cinder road. We got confused looking for a sign that said “Red Cinder Rd” and missed the turn.

The camping site is very clean, spacious and secluded, 18 Apr 2025. Our only concern is/was we send 2 messages to cancel the 19 Apr reservation 72 hours prior and didn't get a refund, disappointing.

Great place near Smith Rock! A bit difficult to find though. The location shown in Google is not quite right so just reach out to the owner if you are lost. It's a bit of a shame that we can't have campfire but that's because of the fire ban in the area. I can see a campfire in the spring or late fall in this place would be great!

The site was nicely traveled and level. It was not as secluded as we thought but it was off the main road and enjoyable. The train is near the sight but it was not too loud or intrusive to our stay. We even got to enjoy a local prairie dog everyone in a while! We didn't use the fire pit but it is very nice and has a lot of room for friends!
We would definitely stay there again. Thank you Dennis!

We loved camping at Wit's End Campsite. Beautiful scenery and well maintained. It was easy to get to town from the site. There are a couple of trains that come through around 2-3 a.m. but other than that the road noise is just like background white noise. It is very spacious so there is plenty of room depending on how many people there are in your group. The established firepit is very nice and there are rocks for people to sit on if you want or bring your own chairs. We also saw a couple of deer walking around the camp area.

This site is not as remote as I was hoping, but its a nice large, level site and relatively private. I will probably stay here again especially with a group. Nice and close to town if you're using this as a Basecamp to explore from.

Great site and amazing views of Smith Rock state park! We booked this site last minute needing a place to stay and we’re very impressed! Very clean, private and the train was a minor inconvenience only going by twice during our stay. Would def come back again!
