Learn more about this land: Mosswood is on 5 acres of mostly forested land, there's usually a project going (or three). We've recently finished building a barn workshop, a covered timber frame deck in the meadow, and a very unique woven tree net that you'll be sure to enjoy! No dogs living here, just one friendly cat, otherwise it's squirrels, birds, and the occasional wild turkey procession or coyote. There is a large garden, and when growing season is on, we may send you packing with some fresh greens or veggies! If you see us out and about, feel free to come say hello or ask questions. We love sharing good conversations and ideas about how to live well and stay excited about all things. Towns/Activities nearby: Veneta/Elmira are charming small rural towns with all the basics less than 10 min drive: Grocery Outlet, Bi-mart, Ace hardware, Auto parts, some decent restaurants. Fern Ridge Lake is 10 minutes down the road for walking trails, boating and paddling, plenty of other outdoor activities nearby. Eugene is 25 min, and the beautiful Oregon coast is 45 min drive if you want to smell the ocean air and visit Florence.

Foster reservoir is 30 minutes away and Green Peter Reservoir is 45 minutes away for boating, swimming, and fishing. There is a loop exercise trail that circles the property and offers 30-degree climbs. You can also play games inside or basketball outside. *Please read FULL site description and rules before booking so you know what to expect and what is expected of you!* 'Royal Heart Hill' is at the very end of a Dead-End road, which means no sound or light pollution from passing cars or nearby residences. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown CG (7 miles from the I5) and 30 miles from downtown Eugene. All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is connected to the Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit, electrical outlet and hammock. Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask! UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024. The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry. Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower. There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos. The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away. *Please note- if you do not respect our camp rules your visit will be flagged, hipcamp will be notified and you will be asked to pay 25% of your booking fee for cleanup costs.*

We have a one acre lot in the city. Our 22' Tipi with access to a full bathroom (shower, sink, toilet). You may also camp in your own tent or vehicle. Get a fire going under our 20' x 30' canvas shelter and cook dinner or work on crafts (we use this space to teach bushcraft and survival skills classes). Pick plums, cherries, pears, apples and wild blackberries when in season. It's a 1 minute walk to access the best coffee shop and cafe in town. Our camp feels a little like you are in the country while being within walking distance of large city parks (Avery Park and Willamette Park), swimming holes, grocery stores and restaurants. As an urban site, you will hear street traffic on Hwy 99, and there is urban light from both a street light and the storage units on the North border of the property. The Tipi itself offers some barrier to these lights, however, if you want to be in a really dark location and see all the stars, this is probably not the site for you. We are close to Oregon State University campus (15 min bike ride, 30 min walk) and easy access to I5 (about 15 min drive). We host you as a family of 3 including our young daughter who might try to get you to pick blackberries with her.

Umpqua National Forest is also nearby, with stunning waterfalls such as Spirit, Moon, and Pinard Falls only 45 minutes to an hour away. The Cottage Grove area is known for its covered bridges, mining history, and the scenic Row River Trail bike path. Your stay will also include space for 2 cars, access to the charcoal grill, deck seating, and access to pasture, creek, and forest to wander. We are located 15 miles from King Estate and other local wineries, 15 miles from the Covered Bridge Scenic Bikeway, 45 miles from Eugene, and 2 hours from the coast, the mountains, and Portland. While the location is quiet and secluded, we are still an easy 5 minutes to I-5. Yurt door is usually left unlocked, and we have not had any security issues. Upon request, we can provide guests with a key during their stay. Unfortunately these accommodations are not ADA-accessible at this time. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE People from all backgrounds are welcome, but hate has no home here. Please respect our neighbors - we tend to wave to each other while in the neighborhood. Other residents at this property include: 4 dogs (Duffy and Hamish, Leia and Suleyman), a flock of Romney sheep, 12 hens, 1 donkey (Gracie), 2 potbelly pigs (Hamlet and Pig), 3 cats (Apollo, Minerva, Zelda, and Opal), and multiple geese. Farm access is available upon instruction (proper gate security is a must!) Unfortunately pets are not allowed at this time because of the animals. No dogs living here, just one friendly cat, otherwise it's squirrels, birds, and the occasional wild turkey procession or coyote. There is a large garden, and when growing season is on, we may send you packing with some fresh greens or veggies! If you see us out and about, feel free to come say hello or ask questions. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown CG (7 miles from the I5) and 30 miles from downtown Eugene. All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is connected to the Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit, electrical outlet and hammock. Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask! UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024. The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry. Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower. There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos. The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away. *Please note- if you do not respect our camp rules your visit will be flagged, hipcamp will be notified and you will be asked to pay 25% of your booking fee for cleanup costs.*

Pick plums, cherries, pears, apples and wild blackberries when in season. It's a 1 minute walk to access the best coffee shop and cafe in town. Our camp feels a little like you are in the country while being within walking distance of large city parks (Avery Park and Willamette Park), swimming holes, grocery stores and restaurants. As an urban site, you will hear street traffic on Hwy 99, and there is urban light from both a street light and the storage units on the North border of the property. The Tipi itself offers some barrier to these lights, however, if you want to be in a really dark location and see all the stars, this is probably not the site for you. We are close to Oregon State University campus (15 min bike ride, 30 min walk) and easy access to I5 (about 15 min drive). While the location is quiet and secluded, we are still an easy 5 minutes to I-5. Yurt door is usually left unlocked, and we have not had any security issues. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE People from all backgrounds are welcome, but hate has no home here. Please respect our neighbors - we tend to wave to each other while in the neighborhood. We stayed with our travel trailer. All hookups worked just fine (water, sewer, electric). It was a busy road right across the fence during the day time but a very quiet area at night. The hosts gave us space but we’re very helpful and responsive via the app with any questions or needs. We had to leave a day early and the host refunded a night stay without even being requested!

I did hammock camping and it was awesome. The camp spots they have are super sweet, with a nice parking unloading spot right next to their outdoor kitchen. There’s a wheelbarrow to help unload your things(it’s not far, but comes in handy if you’ve got more than a handful) and lots of signs to help direct you to everything. The sauna was pretty much amazing.. almost as amazing as the people there! I would recommend to anyone and look forward to returning!! . Still kinda putting it all together but he has created something wonderful. It was a peaceful retreat in nature.

We enjoyed our stay on Jamie's land. The property is beautiful. Totally surrounded by mature forest and a large lawn with grazing deer. The RV pads were very well constructed and required no leveling. Jamie came to meet us right away to explain the hookups, give directions to forest and creek, wifi password, and even brought treats for our pup. We weren't able to take advantage of the sitting area because of the rain, but it was a nice space. We would recommend this property to other travelers in the area.

Eagle Mountain Farm and Retreat is located in a picturesque, healthy forest outside Cottage Grove, Oregon. We offer two tent sites, a 20' yurt, and an intimate bedroom bungalow, available year-round for Hipcamp guests. Our mountain property sits at the end of a private residential road, close to I-5 and downtown Cottage Grove. Alongside the hosts’ house, there are a few other residents on the property. The area is rich with recreation opportunities, including biking, hiking, canoeing, boating, mushroom hunting, swimming, hunting and fishing, gold panning, rockhounding, and wildlife viewing. Eugene and the University of Oregon campus (including Hayward Field) are just 30 minutes away. It’s about an hour to the Oregon Coast, 15 minutes to Cottage Grove Lake, and 30 minutes to Dorena Reservoir. Umpqua National Forest is also nearby, with stunning waterfalls such as Spirit, Moon, and Pinard Falls only 45 minutes to an hour away. The Cottage Grove area is known for its covered bridges, mining history, and the scenic Row River Trail bike path. Film buffs may recognize local spots from Buster Keaton’s The General, Stand By Me, and Animal House. You’ll also find nearby farms, breweries, and vineyards offering tours and tastings. Situated next to our home on a 55 acre farm, our yurt provides a peaceful, relaxing space for up to 5 people. THE SPACE The 20' Pheasant Creek Yurt is completely yours during your stay. Bathroom area in the main house may be shared. For the yurt, there is a queen futon for sitting or sleeping, a double futon bunk/couch with a twin above, dining table with chairs, sink and counter space with toaster/convection oven, mini-fridge, dishes and cutlery, coffee pot, rocking chair, wood stove, and other amenities. Your stay will also include space for 2 cars, access to the charcoal grill, deck seating, and access to pasture, creek, and forest to wander. We are located 15 miles from King Estate and other local wineries, 15 miles from the Covered Bridge Scenic Bikeway, 45 miles from Eugene, and 2 hours from the coast, the mountains, and Portland. While the location is quiet and secluded, we are still an easy 5 minutes to I-5. Yurt door is usually left unlocked, and we have not had any security issues. Upon request, we can provide guests with a key during their stay. Unfortunately these accommodations are not ADA-accessible at this time. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE People from all backgrounds are welcome, but hate has no home here. Please respect our neighbors - we tend to wave to each other while in the neighborhood. Other residents at this property include: 4 dogs (Duffy and Hamish, Leia and Suleyman), a flock of Romney sheep, 12 hens, 1 donkey (Gracie), 2 potbelly pigs (Hamlet and Pig), 3 cats (Apollo, Minerva, Zelda, and Opal), and multiple geese. Farm access is available upon instruction (proper gate security is a must!) Unfortunately pets are not allowed at this time because of the animals. Foster reservoir is 30 minutes away and Green Peter Reservoir is 45 minutes away for boating, swimming, and fishing. There is a loop exercise trail that circles the property and offers 30-degree climbs. You can also play games inside or basketball outside. We thought it would be great to have family gatherings and get togethers here and think of this as our slice of heaven, and hope others enjoy it as well.

Learn more about this land: Mosswood is on 5 acres of mostly forested land, there's usually a project going (or three). We've recently finished building a barn workshop, a covered timber frame deck in the meadow, and a very unique woven tree net that you'll be sure to enjoy! No dogs living here, just one friendly cat, otherwise it's squirrels, birds, and the occasional wild turkey procession or coyote. There is a large garden, and when growing season is on, we may send you packing with some fresh greens or veggies! If you see us out and about, feel free to come say hello or ask questions. We love sharing good conversations and ideas about how to live well and stay excited about all things. Towns/Activities nearby: Veneta/Elmira are charming small rural towns with all the basics less than 10 min drive: Grocery Outlet, Bi-mart, Ace hardware, Auto parts, some decent restaurants. Fern Ridge Lake is 10 minutes down the road for walking trails, boating and paddling, plenty of other outdoor activities nearby. Eugene is 25 min, and the beautiful Oregon coast is 45 min drive if you want to smell the ocean air and visit Florence.

Twelve sides, windows all around, surrounded by nature, yet close to town. ***************** Picture a cabin made of cedar and glass. It has wi-fi, heated or cooled to your comfort, a super-comfortable queen-sized bed with memory foam, a chair for reading, a fold-out desk, and a table and a coffee pot. All the bare essentials, in one place. (Not in all the the photos — we've added lush, room-darkening curtains all around for privacy and to aid those who prefer sleeping later.) It's situated to be rustic and inspirational, nestled into the back corner of a deep lot. There are fruit trees all around and a seasonal pond that attracts ducks in the spring and early summer. Depending on the season, you can listen to birds and frogs from inside the roundhouse, or cross the footbridge to the south-facing deck behind the workshop -- another private space for your "get away from the bustle" contemplations. Or enjoy the firepit. Follow the wending path to the front fence and everything is nearby. The bathroom (with tub and shower) is at the rear of the main house, right near the back door (about 30 yards from the roundhouse). It's private and only barely shared. (We have another bath-and-a-half elsewhere in the house.) We have a clever curtaining and folding wall system that can give you extra privacy if you want it. You'll be left as alone as you choose to be during your visit. With a little bit of planning, we're happy to share our full kitchen with you during daylight hours. Same with the laundry room. We're sharing our home with you, so we ask you to be respectful of that. We love to brag about Eugene and Oregon, and we're happy to share what we have and what we know. We cannot guarantee that your visit with us will be enchanted and uplifting, but that's what we hope it will be. We'll do what we can to make it so. Our listings include a 9.5% room tax assessed by the city of Eugene. Those added funds are used to promote tourism and other good things around Lane County. Guest access Late arrivals are easy to facilitate. The house is easy to find, even in the dark. The street is well lit and we have path lights to guide you to the roundhouse. Since it's a completely separate building, there's no need to worry about waking anyone. "We'll leave the light on for you," as they say. What will you need? Fridge, microwave, coffee pot, toaster oven -- all yours. Laundry, full kitchen, yard, neighborhood -- shared. (Just ask.) We have gorgeous red velvet theatre curtains and a clever folding glass wall to divide spaces, but the intent is to remain permeable for hospitality's sake. Other things to note MISCELLANEOUS NOTES: #1. After over eight years on airbnb, this space is often "taken" for most times. If you'd like to try a similarly inventive space, on the same property, employing much of the same geometry (but larger and self-contained), check out our aloft apartment. #2. Before you confirm your reservation, please double-check certain details. Have you inputted the correct dates and are you reserving for the correct number of (human) guests? This is important because those details may alter the price you're being quoted. (We give solo travelers the lowest possible rate. All others pay a bit more.) #3. Our check-in time is usually (anytime after) 3 pm. Occasionally, we can accommodate early arrivals, or luggage drop-off before the space is cleaned. We always appreciate knowing roughly when you expect to arrive. That helps us prepare. #4. We send all our guests an email with detailed instructions and up-to-the-minute details for their visit. Please include your best email address when you make your reservation. #5. We have a (slight) presence on social media, so if you feel the urge to take pictures and share it with your friends, we'd love it if you'd tag us at "oreroundhouse" and "dksez".... #6 We welcome dogs and other pets, but we ask for a couple of things. First, do let us know when you're bringing critters with you. Second, please don't let them roam our yard unleashed. The fence has holes. Third, leaving pets unattended for long stretches inside hasn't worked very well. Gnawed furniture, yelping, too much hair on the bedspread -- that sort of thing. We have two dog parks within walking distance, so there will be opportunities for them to enjoy themselves too!

Our farm is nestled at the end of Honey Grove Valley in the lush coastal mountains. The creek meanders through our seven acre property. The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. An extension to the Honey Grove trail leads out of the property accessing a user maintained hiking/mountain biking trail with 1.5, 3, 5 and 7 mile loop options. Other nearby activities include hiking and mountain biking in Mary's Peak and Alsea Falls recreational area. Access to the Alsea River is located 1.5 miles from the property on Honey Grove Road or at nearby Clemmons Park. The guest cabin has two rooms and can sleep (4) guests comfortably and up to (6) guests. It contains (2) queen size beds, and one pull out couch. One bed is in a loft accessed by a ship ladder. There is a small kitchen and an un-attached bathhouse. The toilet is non-flush, composting. From the designated parking area there is a 200 foot walk along a gravel path to the cabin. Other features include a fire pit, wood fired sauna, and creek access for cold dips. Internet is available in the cabin. There is a Level 1 vehicle charger available for guests. The property also contains a host residence. The area around the residence is for the hosts. The cabin and the property are very quaint and inviting but also very rustic. Do not be surprised to see a few or many spiders, slugs and other bugs. There are occasional bunnies, wild turkeys, Garter Snakes by the ponds and newts on the trails. Please maintain good situational awareness when enjoying the property as structures and grounds may have some inherent hazards. The barn is off limits. Greenhouse and gardens are fine to explore as long as doors and gates are closed and dogs are kept out. Please refrain from harvesting produce and/or eggs unless accompanied or given permission from hosts directly.
