Our family "Riverhouse" is one of my favorite places in the world. We use it to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday professional life. The town of Harrisburg is such a cool, easy-going, quaint place to spend some time. Accessibility is one of its' key assets. Our campsite is nestled among the trees next to the river. There's lots to enjoy. Do you like hiking? Silver Falls State Park is only 36 miles away. Boating? You can put in your kayak/canoe at Gills Landing in Lebanon and float down the river back to the campsite. Fishing? Bring your fishing pole and try catch and release in our pond. Swimming? Take a swim in the cool water. Of course, you can just relax by the water's edge and enjoy the tranquility provided by the soothing flow of the river.
This 192 sq. ft. cabin is very basic. There is no shower, but there is a portable toilet with a wash station located outside. We do provide a full 5-gallon water cooler for drinking since there is no running water. For cooking there is a 24" Blackstone 2-burner griddle, and small propane cans are provided. Also, the cabin is furnished with a small supply of pots and pans. There is a battery that provides lighting, and phone charging is available in the cabin. During the cooler months, there is a small wood stove for heating, and firewood is provided. The cabin sleeps 2, but there is room for a camper and/or tents. This campsite is meant to be very simple, so you should plan on bringing whatever you may need/want for camping.

"Enchanting, magical, uplifting" -- those are words used recently by our guests, describing this wonderful space. Twelve sides, windows all around, surrounded by nature, yet close to town.

Picture a cabin made of cedar and glass. It has wi-fi, heated or cooled to your comfort, a super-comfortable queen-sized bed with memory foam, a chair for reading, a fold-out desk, and a table and a coffee pot. All the bare essentials, in one place.
(Not in all the the photos — we've added lush, room-darkening curtains all around for privacy and to aid those who prefer sleeping later.)
It's situated to be rustic and inspirational, nestled into the back corner of a deep lot. There are fruit trees all around and a seasonal pond that attracts ducks in the spring and early summer. Depending on the season, you can listen to birds and frogs from inside the roundhouse, or cross the footbridge to the south-facing deck behind the workshop -- another private space for your "get away from the bustle" contemplations. Or enjoy the firepit.
Follow the wending path to the front fence and everything is nearby.
The bathroom (with tub and shower) is at the rear of the main house, right near the back door (about 30 yards from the roundhouse). It's private and only barely shared. (We have another bath-and-a-half elsewhere in the house.) We have a clever curtaining and folding wall system that can give you extra privacy if you want it. You'll be left as alone as you choose to be during your visit.
With a little bit of planning, we're happy to share our full kitchen with you during daylight hours. Same with the laundry room.
We're sharing our home with you, so we ask you to be respectful of that. We love to brag about Eugene and Oregon, and we're happy to share what we have and what we know.
We cannot guarantee that your visit with us will be enchanted and uplifting, but that's what we hope it will be. We'll do what we can to make it so.
Our listings include a 9.5% room tax assessed by the city of Eugene. Those added funds are used to promote tourism and other good things around Lane County.
Guest access
Late arrivals are easy to facilitate. The house is easy to find, even in the dark. The street is well lit and we have path lights to guide you to the roundhouse. Since it's a completely separate building, there's no need to worry about waking anyone. "We'll leave the light on for you," as they say.
What will you need? Fridge, microwave, coffee pot, toaster oven -- all yours. Laundry, full kitchen, yard, neighborhood -- shared. (Just ask.) We have gorgeous red velvet theatre curtains and a clever folding glass wall to divide spaces, but the intent is to remain permeable for hospitality's sake.
Other things to note
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES:
#1. After over eight years on airbnb, this space is often "taken" for most times. If you'd like to try a similarly inventive space, on the same property, employing much of the same geometry (but larger and self-contained), check out our aloft apartment.
#2. Before you confirm your reservation, please double-check certain details. Have you inputted the correct dates and are you reserving for the correct number of (human) guests? This is important because those details may alter the price you're being quoted. (We give solo travelers the lowest possible rate. All others pay a bit more.)
#3. Our check-in time is usually (anytime after) 3 pm. Occasionally, we can accommodate early arrivals, or luggage drop-off before the space is cleaned. We always appreciate knowing roughly when you expect to arrive. That helps us prepare.
#4. We send all our guests an email with detailed instructions and up-to-the-minute details for their visit. Please include your best email address when you make your reservation.
#5. We have a (slight) presence on social media, so if you feel the urge to take pictures and share it with your friends, we'd love it if you'd tag us at "oreroundhouse" and "dksez"....
#6 We welcome dogs and other pets, but we ask for a couple of things. First, do let us know when you're bringing critters with you. Second, please don't let them roam our yard unleashed. The fence has holes. Third, leaving pets unattended for long stretches inside hasn't worked very well. Gnawed furniture, yelping, too much hair on the bedspread -- that sort of thing. We have two dog parks within walking distance, so there will be opportunities for them to enjoy themselves too!

Our farm is nestled in the Honey Grove Creek valley in the lush coastal mountains. The creek meanders through our seven acre property. The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. An extension to the Honey Grove Trail leads out of the property accessing a user maintained hiking/mountain biking trail with 1.5, 3, 5 and 7 mile loop options.
Other nearby activities include hiking and mountain biking in Mary's Peak and Alsea Falls recreational area. Access to the Alsea River is located 2.25 miles from the property on Honey Grove Road or at nearby Clemmons Park.
The guest cabin has two rooms and can sleep (4) guests comfortably and up to (6) guests. It contains (2) queen size beds, and one pull out couch. One bed is in a loft accessed by a ship ladder. There is a small kitchen and an un-attached bathhouse. The toilet is non-flush, composting. From the designated parking area there is a 200 foot walk along a gravel path to the cabin.
Other features include a fire pit, sauna, and creek access for cold dips and kid play. Internet is available in the cabin. There is a Level 1 vehicle charger available for guests.
The property also contains a host residence. The area around the residence is for the hosts but guests are welcome with permission from the hosts.
The cabin and the property are very quaint and inviting but also very rustic. Do not be surprised to see a few (or many) spiders, slugs and other bugs. There are occasional bunnies, wild turkeys, Garter Snakes by the ponds and Newts on the trails. Please maintain good situational awareness when enjoying the property as structures and grounds may have some inherent hazards.
The barn is off limits. Greenhouse and gardens are fine to explore as long as doors and gates are closed and dogs are kept out. Please refrain from harvesting produce and/or eggs unless accompanied or given permission from hosts directly.

What a beautiful spot! We tent camped down in the trees and had a wonderful time. Plenty of space for our large group. Our kids loved the treehouse and zip line. And every sunrise and sunset brought beauty to our day. The hosts were extremely kind and welcoming and have created a fun space to camp at.
Campers be aware-there are farm animals nearby and within earshot. At no fault of the hosts, you do hear chickens and roosters talking as well as farm dogs working day and night. Would suggest earplugs for tent campers at night but otherwise some of us were able to tune it out. There was a wonderfully loud cricket noise to help drown out any unwanted farm animal noise. And the horses that come say hi through the fence were such an amazing bonus to my kids.
Overall a great location that we hope to revisit. Thank you to the hosts!

This place is awesome! The host, Tabitha, is so nice and welcoming. The grounds are clean and thoughtfully put together. The view is amazing. My kids had a blast staying here! Definitely returning here in the future!

Great spot in the shade with nice creek access and so close to town. Ethan was a great host with excellent communication along the way. Nice having a picnic table and multiple benches to sit on and the fire pit is a real nice one when the fire band is lifted. Overall a very pleasant stay.

We had such an amazing time out here! It was so quiet and relaxing we extended our stay two more days and I’m glad we did. We were blessed with warm weather and no rain, but made our tent at the edge of a forest under the canopy of trees for shade. Plenty of spots to hang a hammock and plenty of level ground for campsites.
It’s a bit remote so we didn’t get much for cell signal which was exactly what I wanted. There is an outhouse when nature calls and running water for a garden shower. There’s also a small creek with a swimming hole close to the tree line, perfect for cooling off or just finding a bit of peace and quiet.
The woman that owns the property was awesome. True salt of the earth, and tough as nails. She was hilarious and also so kind; she shared fresh vegetables from her garden every day. We are extremely grateful for the hospitality, kindness, and respect. We will definitely be back again next year!

We had a lovely spot with a stream and fire pit. There were wild turkeys running around and the host had a farm stand where we could purchase fresh veggies, eggs, and nursery plants. A market just down the street. The host, Michelle, was delightful.

We loved the seclusion and peace and quiet, the peekaboo views of the valley the closeness to the river and the atmosphere from the neighboring cute little towns to explore surely was a win win. Plenty of lakes near by for a fun soak in the water . We will be coming back again

Aloha (the host) was super nice, allowed us to pick our campsite and offered us firewood since we didn’t have any. During the trip my car battery died and she was nice enough to help me jump it. Couldn’t say thank you enough.

We spent two nights on Tabitha’s land & it was 10000% the greatest campsite we’ve ever stayed at. We had three adults, one toddler, our dog, and two vehicles. We had more than enough space & privacy which was great for our kids nap time & our dog was free to be a dog. Be prepared to spend all of your time listening to birds & watching the clouds float by from the lookout. The pond & farm fields were so fun to explore. The bathroom was so freakin cool & full of the most fun trinkets and things. We had a blast playing the card games & made the best memories. Tabitha, our wonderful host was 10/10. There are no words to describe the effort and love you can obviously see she has put into this place. We would come back 100 times again, it was THAT awesome. :)

Absolutely AWESOME campsite with every amenity you could think of. All the small touches really made the whole experience that much better- from dishes and cutlery, to firewood precut and chairs ready by the campfire, to board games and bernoculors, towels, grill, cleaning products, EVERYTHING you could ask for! Found many cool rocks too, and a small trail to the main river which took less than 5 minutes to walk to. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. My only regret is staying just 1 night.

Great spot to Hipcamp! We love being on the river. Plenty of room to move around and park our 28ft trailer with 2 cars. The eagles every morning are super cool! Great host with excellent communication! We decided to book a few more day!

This camp is so great! Manicured mulch at the site. Friendly goats. Owls. Morning doves. Turkeys. And a hella clean outhouse. I live an hour away, a secret get away.
