Camp down by the creek at our private campground. Pan for gold or rock hound for gems in over 1/2 mile of pristine North Carolina creek. Outdoor shower and bathroom facility available. Bring all your camping gear, tents and headlamps for a fun adventure in the woods. We have a pack of German Shepard dogs that roam the land. They may visit you, eat leftovers and they will definitely keep predators away from your camp. If you want to bring your pets or aren’t comfortable with dogs please let us know in advance and we will make every effort to keep the dogs away. This is their home and they are a part of the land and experience when visiting. Our dogs are a big family, each with its own personality and mannerisms. Be prepared to get to know them!

Directly off the main path to the creek you will stumble upon this campsite by turning left at the forest school. It has a main open space where there’s a table and chairs and fire pit. Deeper into the woods there is a path that leads to a room in the forest. Here is enough from for a couple smaller tents. Past this room is another room where a couple more tents could be. So bring your besties and come on. This campsite is also close to the game area.

There’s plenty of room for everyone here. The campsite is located on the same elevation as where you will be parking so it would be suitable for anyone who may have difficulty walking. There are many flat places to pitch tents and setup a cooking area as well as walking paths throughout your camp. Explorer Camp is conveniently located close to the bathroom and shower area. The campsite is mostly shaded and level with several “rooms” or nooks scattered around for your party to spread out and enjoy a bit of privacy after lights out. All the while being close enough to share campfire stories. There are not any tables, chairs or lighting at this site. You are welcome to build fires anywhere you like. You can use wood that you find on the campground. This camp also includes an open field large enough to pitch a volleyball net or play catch etc. We are a dog haven so you are welcome to bring your pets and let them have fun too! We don’t require leashes or limit the number of animals you can bring. We are onTikTok or Facebook. Our username is TripleJFarmShelbyNC. Here you will find videos of our campsites and campground as well as a video guide to the campground from the main road. Once you arrive we will be glad to help assist you building a fire or anything else you may need. We are available on site or via phone or the app. Farm Tours are available upon request.

Our popular dispersed campsite is back open and better than ever. We have been hard at work clearing land to make this wide open camp even more spacious and fun. Setup as many tents as you want along the creek or higher up the hillside. Bring all your camping gear and a headlamp for a relaxing night camping under the stars. Adventure camp is a short walk from the parking area and also from the creek area. We have many trails to explore. We don’t recommend driving past the main parking area however if you have 4x4 you can drive down to the camp and creek areas. Our guests can also enjoy cornhole, horseshoes and a golf hole. Follow the clues to the treasure hunt. Learn about nature at the forest school. Find the cave. Listen for birds. We have heard over 50 different species!

Tucked away towards the back of the property this campsite is carved out of the creek bank. There’s no frills here just you and the creek. There’s a nice size beach you can set up on or just off the path up on the bank. The entire site is shaded and away from any other campsites. It’s a good walk to the bathroom but not too far. If you have a 4x4 you can drive in kinda close to it but not completely. It’s an adventure for sure.

Kudzu Bridge Camp

The furthest campsite on the property is located beside a large bridge and along the creek. 4x4 vehicles can drive directly to this area. It’s an open area along the creek. Your camp extends into the forest area if you want to camp in the shade. There’s not much traffic out here in the country so you don’t have to worry about too much noise.

Out in the woods along the trail to the bridge is Pioneer Camp. There’s a nice flat spot with trails and plenty of room to set up. We have a table and chairs set up there.

If all you need is a safe place to park overnight we got you! You will have access to our campground, restroom, shower and amenities. We don’t have power or water hookup or WiFi or anything except sunshine and creek and German Shepards. Well we have a bathroom and shower and a garden hose spigot and a flat space for you to park your van. No hot water either but we think a cold shower is rejuvenating and fun to do at least every so often. It’s important to note that this site can only accommodate a van or truck with small trailer. The road leading to the campground area is too rough for a big camper and rvs. It has a steep turn that would be too much. We have a video that shows the road on YouTube. TripleJFarmShelbyNC is our username. Look for the video that says guide to campground. This way you know in advance. While you are here feel free to roam and hike along the trails and just enjoy the peace of being in nature. Hangout by the creek or play horseshoes. We are building a massive food forest campground dog paradise. If you want to play on a farm and help out we have workshops where you can see what it would be like working on a farm. Those are available on Hipcamp and help support our farm. We have a pack of German Shepards too. They are super friendly and smart. All they want is for you to throw a rock or stick. When driving on the land please go slow. They all respond to puppy. If you have pets they are also welcome just give us a heads up so we can introduce them properly. We hope to host you soon!

Laid back camping; good hosts

Forest Camp

We had such a good time here! We camped right by the creek in the woods- and my son spent hours catching little fish and playing in the water. We also took the short hike to the waterfall, which was beautiful despite the drought. We had fun walking the trails through the woods too. Just keep an eye out for poison ivy- we definitely spotted some! We brought our dog, and he had the best time exploring and splashing in the creek. Jessica let us know they have German Shepherds, and without us even asking, she thoughtfully kept them put up during our stay. Our dog can be a little standoffish with new dogs, so we really appreciated that. We gathered wood for our campfire, and when we asked Jessica if we could buy a little more, she brought us some at no charge, which was really nice. You can tell they’re putting a lot of love into this place with all the cute little touches and decorations throughout. The shower was a nice surprise, and having a flushing toilet and sink nearby made camping even more comfortable. They had the little essentials covered too- toilet paper, soap, shampoo, and conditioner- which we really appreciated. This was a different experience than camping at a state or national park. It felt more personal, with the freedom to explore and enjoy someone else’s little piece of nature. We really appreciated Jessica and John sharing their property with us. We made some wonderful family memories here and would happily come back. ❤️

Pretty if you don’t mind dogs

The campsites were nice the whole place was very scenic. The only complaint we had was nowhere on the page did it say they had a whole pack of dogs that roamed free. It did say on the page that off leased dogs were welcome which we were excited about until pulling up to find a cute welcoming committee. We drove separate so we could bring our three dogs with us and sadly had to bring two of our dogs back home because they were terrified. This also made it hard when trying to explore with our kids and the one dog we kept at the campsite with us. Sadly we didn’t get to enjoy and explore as much as we wanted to. They had a very nice place and outhouse was super cute well maintained and clean.

Great Location For Summer Camping!!

Yurt Camp by the Creek

Triple J’s Farm is a hidden gem in Shelby, NC! This sweet couple is new to Hipcamp and steadily growing their space, but it’s already absolutely beautiful and they are some of the kindest hosts you’ll meet. The property has everything you need for a peaceful outdoor escape: a real rustic style toilet in the woods, an outdoor shower perfect for cooling off after a day at the creek or exploring the trails, and plenty of space to unwind in nature. They have a pack of German Shepherds that make you feel both welcomed and safe they were such a fun and comforting part of the experience! We originally booked the yurt, but they upgraded us to their new cabin, which is nearly complete. It’s built from 100% natural materials and completely handmade every piece was hand-cut by the owner himself, which makes it even more special. We took a wood-shop class and we made a cutting board which was lots of fun. One of the best parts was relaxing on the balcony overlooking the creek, which flows year-round with incredibly clear water. You can find smoky and clear quartz right in the creek! Even during a drought, there was still a swimming hole and plenty of water to enjoy. There are also fun touches like a trail leading to a horseshoe and cornhole area, we ended up playing there a lot during our stay. John, the owner, is super laid-back and his wife is just as amazing. I’m out of space but 10/10 recommend to stay here.

Adventure Camp 2026

This was my family’s first camping trip! Not only was it a blast but now it’s one of our core memories! Jess and John have a very nice track of land! We explored most of it and still had lots more to see! Had plenty of privacy along with company, because they have a pack of German Shepard fur babies!! If you’re a dog person, do not visit, because you won’t leave! Definitely gonna be back once it warms up a little more! Thanks Jess and John! -The stairs around that tree are a lot taller in person! Definitely worth checking out!

Where do I begin!! Let's use the comment from the owner "this can be your home away from home"! We are so happy to have found this place. It's close to home and far enough away! The owners are so welcoming and attentive! From keeping up with us prior to our visit and promptly answering any messages to making sure we were settled and had everything we needed. The property was fun to explore. We had a 1 year old who loved going on adventures! Getting dirty and playing in the creek. There are veggies gardens to grab some home grown treats to use with our meals. Plenty of places to put a tent or more. The private Yurt looked inviting with its surroundings!! Watching the owners work and create more things for the guests was fun!! If you are a dog lover and like to travel with yours, this is the place. If your pet is other dog friendly there are many dog friends to make! We had several protectors during our stay. They were mindful and gentle. One female was even protective of my grandson! They loved when he dropped food! So if you are looking for a getaway whether you want privacy or a family adventure this is the place. We definitely will return, there is so much more we want to explore!! Thank you to both of you for everything!!

Yurt Camp by the Creek

The tent site was excellent. It was very private, with clean sheets, comfortable beds, and a well-maintained tent. The kids had a great time playing in the creek and especially enjoyed hiking the small loop after dark to see the fairy lights. The bathroom was cleaner and nicer than expected, making the stay even more enjoyable.

Really neat place! No true assigned camping, so you go to camp spot and set up wherever you want. This is a neat spot if you have littles that love adventures! Plenty of places to seek out!!!

The thing that stood out the most was how the hosts were very attentive and went out of there way to make us feel welcome on several occasions. They are relatively new to being camp hosts and still ironing out a few things but I would definitely camp there again.

Camping in the trees

We did the adventure camp and it was wonderful! Lots of trees and a little creek, it was quiet and peaceful. We went paddle boarding at John h moss lake and ended up driving to triple falls while we were there as well. We had a wonderful campfire and spent a lot of time relaxing in the hammock.

Yurt Camp by the Creek

We LOVED camping here ! We are not campers by sport and are in no way, experts but this was amazing. The property is sooo cute ! We went on a walk and picked a basketful of blackberries 🥰 The goats provided everything we needed to be comfy, the yurt area was perfect for our small family. The creek, swing, grill, and all. We loved it ! A really bad thunderstorm hit the night we stayed and we hunkered down and made it through. It was an experience we will NEVER forget and can't wait to visit again. Our kids loved them panning in the creek, and the shower - the outdoor shower was the favorite lol

Creek Time; Chill Time

I had a quiet, peaceful time at Triple J Farm. Jessica met me on arrival and led me out to the site. She helped me carry my stuff in and even came out at 10 p.m. to warn me there was a severe thunderstorm warning, and if I wanted to come in, I was welcome. The dogs on the property are super friendly. One even decided to hang out with me as I walked the creek. Even with the heat of summer, the air around the creek is cool and the water cooler. If you have sensitive feet, wear water shoes, lots of rocks, slate and mica. If you wanted to, you could definitely find some rough gems. The area is also heavy in wild blackberries. I was a little too early but still got to enjoy some sun-warmed juiciness! While there are plenty of spots to hang a hammock, I found a spot right next to the creek, where I peacefully finished a couple of books I was reading. It was beautiful! I’ll be back!
