Tellurian Family Campground

The campground was extremely clean. The views were amazing. The owner was very friendly and was there trimming weeds and overgrowth. Their bathhouse is an old single trailer they converted into a small play space for kids with a couch and a recliner and currently has 3 bathrooms with showers. Super nice to have access to that. It was a little on the higher end of price but was totally worth it in my opinion. Very nice place.

Great! Go slow down & rest.

I booked this site for the hopes of having a peaceful, slow weekend as we constantly find ourselves camping in busier settings, resulting in feeling less rested by the constant go. When I found this site, I knew it was exactly what we needed. Small setting, open sky, quiet life, and time by the river. No obligations or big outings. Just sitting, and enjoying the peace for once. Jud was a pleasure to meet and we could tell the amount of time that he and his family have put into their campground. Having a family ourselves while building toward a business, it’s easy for others to forget how much time it truly takes to make something of a vision. Even while there, we noticed his dedication to checking on the needs of the grounds and on us to make sure we were aware that we could reach him or Amanda by phone any time. I see the difference in this campground. It feels like it should and it was nice to camp here and just go with the flow by slowing down our time and taking a break for once. We will definitely come back here to explore more of the river in the summer season. Our weekend nearing fall, left us with fishing and a chilly morning (loveddddd it) but we do look forward to returning for some tubing fun!

I loved tent camping on Jud & Amanda’s land. The area was soo beautiful with an amazing view, & the river felt so goood! we had the whole campsite to ourselves which was a bonus! I recommend The Tellurian Campground if you’re looking for a nice beautiful spot to hang out for a few days. Also Jud came out to introduce himself & tell us a little bit about the land, super nice guy! I appreciate for opening your land for us to enjoy. Thank you I had an amazing time!⛰️✨

Tellurian Campground - Site 3

We had the most exceptional week camping here. You can’t beat the views and our hosts Jud and Amanda treated us like family!! Extremely responsive with any questions and great day trip suggestions. The dogs had an amazing time. It was very stress-free, clean, and the best getaway we have had in a very long time. We will definitely be back!! 10/10!!!

Perfect Labor Day Weekend Getaway!

This is our second trip to Tellurian campground and it won’t be our last! We love the amazing mountain views, and access to the river. Sites are always clean, quiet and perfect for a get away. This weekend, we were lucky enough to participate in a scout fundraiser for Judd and Amanda’s son, and we had a tasty rack of ribs delivered to our campsite! Love it!

Friendly owners came and checked on us. Nice bathhouse with games and air conditioned very very clean.. a little walk to the river. I would suggest bringing a wagon, but it was accessible. We were able to get down with a child and two dogs and the wagon. Nice views of the mountains. We were able to use or phones and tablets. We recommend.

Solo Site

We were switched to their solo site and I would highly recommend. Didn't get a chance to stay at the campground, but it was a welcomed and pleasant offer. Full hookup, goats, horses, and cows in the nearby pasture nestled mountain side, it was perfect for us. They were friendly, the site was clean, and it was an overall easy trip and experience. We look forward to booking again.

The view of the mountains were amazing. The bath house was very big and spacious with games and floats to use for the river. The campsite is all gravel so keep that in mind if your doing tent camping like we did.

This campground was an absolute delight! It’s off the grid and not a large resort campground, which makes it perfect for those seeking a more relaxed camping experience. The views are breathtaking, and the river access is beautiful. My two small children had a blast there. However, if you’re looking for a campground with a ton of amenities and all the things that come with resort camping, this isn’t the place for you. But if you’re looking for a peaceful and off-the-grid camping experience, this is the place to be! The owners were also incredibly helpful. A huge storm rolled in, and they were concerned for our safety. He recommended that we hunker down in the bathhouse/recreational space until the storm passed. We definitely will be returning!

Tellurian is a gem of a campground with beautiful views in WNC. It is a quiet location and has two river accesses. The campground has a very clean bathhouse/game area. We had excellent communication with both Jud and Amanda. This is a small campground, with only 7 sites but it is laid out very well. We would definetly utilize this campground again and look forward to returning.

Site 1 had an unobstructed view of the open meadow that sloped down to the river that was hidden beyond the trees. This Hipcamp was a great place to relax and do nothing because of its remote location in between towns and its distance from most anything. We didn’t use the river because the rains had the water level higher than we expected and the folks immediately across the river seemed to be having some kind of substantial multi tent gathering.

There is a nice view of the mountains and it was really nice having the clean bath house to use. Very nice and quiet, and great to have the full camper hookup. I enjoyed hearing all the different species of birds.
