The following are but a few of our favorite things to do within a short drive: visit Linville Falls, Caverns, Gorge and/or Winery; cruise the Blue Ridge parkway; pick apples at the Orchard at Altapss; tube/kayak down the Catawba river; hike beautiful Tom’s Creek Falls or Crabtree Falls; cross Grandfather Mountains mile high bridge and explore the nearby towns of Spruce Pines or Little Switzerland. Our gateway to Pisgah camper van is set on top of a mountain on 10 acres. It is parked on the land in the front of my home, with a separate parking area for privacy. It is the perfect spot, centrally located between Asheville, skiing and tubing resorts, and national forests, each being between 20 and 30 minutes drive. It has a bed that sleeps two, as well as a seating area that the table goes down and converts into a small bed. The camper van is air-conditioned and has a space heater, has a conduction cooktop in the kitchenette, as well as running water in the sink. There is a portable flushing camping toilet inside. A grill, fire pit, hammock, and outdoor shower with shower pump sprayer. Linens, towels, toiletries, and kitchenware are provided.
Campsite has access to water and electricity, small grill and fire pit.
Located 15 minutes to shopping, and grocery delivery services are available.

PLEASE NOTE, our rate is based on the number of vehicles in your group. The first vehicle is included in the nightly rate and admits 4 campers. WE CHARGE FOR ADDITIONAL CARS. The charge will be added to your booking once you select the number of vehicles at checkout.
Please note that each additional car admits four campers. For EXAMPLE, 2 cars = 8 campers total. If you only have two cars but more than eight people, YOU MUST select the "Extra Person" Extra for each night they are camping. Please select these extras at checkout. Our 95-acre farm was once owned by the Davis family who predominantly raised dairy cattle. We now raise the wooly Mangalitsa pig and sell to the best chefs and restaurants. We sell our pork at the farm too!
All of our campsites are next to running water except the two hilltop sites.
Two porta-potties are on the farm and private porta-potties are available for rent. Groups of eight or more are required to rent a porta potty should you not bring your own toilet system with you. We do not allow the use of our small wooded areas as toilets. No porta potties are provided b/tw Dec 15 and March 15

Quiet hours are from 10pm to 9am.

Bald Eagles have been seen on April 27th, 2026! The views are hypnotic, looking down and out over the continental divide. Good morning, and sunsets can be seen from the same spot. Your car is parked within feet of your deck, so Car Campers and experienced campers can enjoy. Designed with campers and dogs in mind. The deck is large (384 square feet) with a tin roof. Some are two-thirds, and some are one-third, depending on what one wants for tent size or sun exposure. (See pictures of each site/deck) Each deck features sun and rain curtains to help keep you comfortable in both sunny and rainy weather. Dogs enjoy a two-gate system that allows guests and dogs to be leash-free and away from the road. All dog owners know to pick up after their pets. The human Private Porta John is cleaned frequently. Lights and electrical outlets are 110V (3 prongs) for YOUR coffee pots, electric grills, mattress inflators, crockpots, electric blankets, fans, etc. I do not provide any electrical appliances, other than counter area lighting and low-level string lights, so one can see the night sky. PMany of my campers will "Pay it Forward" and leave coffee pots, hot plates, fans and such, so count yourself lucky to find a deck with them. I provide chairs, 5 gallons of fresh water in containers, a fickle solar shower, and a pop-up changing room, along with an assortment of camping supplies from dog bowls to antimicrobial. I provide various-size garbage bags to manage your garbage. Your parking area is next to the deck. Black Mountain’s tasty restaurants are 4 miles away, and All Trails is an excellent app for finding trails suited for your interests. Be respectful, please.
Private Glamping Decks with a view that pictures do not do justice. Private decks on a dead-end gravel road mean hopefully the sounds will only be of nature. The conveniences of electricity, porta john, water, chairs, table, roof, cleaning supplies, rain curtains, and astounding views have my Glampers coming back often. Designed with Dogs in mind with a two-gate system and no need for a leash when on the deck. Obnoxious, barking dogs are not welcome, so bring only controlled and well-socialized dogs. Help me keep it dog-friendly. Never block the road with a park car.

Update on Fire ban: I spoke with the forest ranger of Yadkin County, and You ARE allowed SMALL campfires for cooking and heating purposes only. No bonfires. Charcoal and propane grills are OK too.
Please respect our land by not bringing firewood from off-site and burning it here. We are a working farm that allows camping, not a campground. Our native trees and crops could easily be devastated by outside diseases or pests that are carried in firewood. We offer firewood for sale from our farm (delivered to your site for no additional fee). You do NOT have to purchase it prior to your arrival, and we have large tubs too!
Our STORE offers firewood, meats, eggs, Tallow, lard (both rendered right here!), drinks, Amish ice cream and jams/jellies/preserves, hammocks, hammock chairs, smoked dog bones, soaps (made right here), rentals of: cast iron cookware, a tent, Coleman stove, fishing poles, ... and MUCH MORE!
Please note that all our sites are reserved with a one vehicle limit. Some sites are large enough to accommodate additional vehicles but each additional vehicle will incur a $10 per night charge. Free parking for additional vehicles is located at the office/store.
Looking for a camping experience with a little luxury to boot? Look no further than our Oasis at Harmon Creek Farms! You can drive right up to most sites, weather permitting. You will have access to a fire ring and picnic table (located at each site), firewood for sale on site (please do not bring firewood from off-site), clean well water (located near the pond), the creek to explore, our stocked pond to fish, and wooded trails to hike. Once roamed by Native Americans and now farmed by the same family for over 6 generations, Harmon Creek Farm is a working farm of over 160 acres. Peace, quiet, tranquility and privacy are overflowing along the creek, and hiking throughout the hills on the backside of the farm (and on the other side of the creek) leads to interesting and abundant flora and fauna. The stocked, spring fed pond is 'brimming" with angler challenges🎣

1. 100 % Refund less credit card processing fee if you cancel before 14 days of your arrival date. 50% Refund if you cancel between 14 and 7 days of your arrival date. No Refund if you cancel within 6 days of your arrival date.

3. QUIET TIME. 10 PM - 8 AM
4. CHECK OUT PROCEDURES. Camp must be broken down by 11 AM on departure day. If you stay past time you could be charged for an additional day. Extension possible with pre-approval.

6. Trash must be taken to the Green Bins located at the lower corner of the upper field
7. No washing vehicles
8. PETS must be kept on a leash at all times. Please clean up after your pets and do NOT leave them in the campground unattended.

You get there on a gravel road with 2wd. 5.5" of clearance is recommended. (google your car)

Islandsite is an equally beautiful tent site ideally for two, but the 10x12 platform can accommodate a 6-man tent, best for 2 adults and a couple of kids!
You won't want to leave, but if you do there are many recreational opportunities in the area such as hiking, biking, rafting, fishing, and more! Stays of 6 days or more get a big discount!

Heartstone is located on a modestly pitched, terraced slope where a divided mountain stream, the tumbling Squally Creek rejoins itself! The sunlight filters down through the forest canopy providing a warm, inviting glow!! There is a 9'-6" x 10' wooden tent platform, and if needed a new, larger tent pad!
Islandsite is located at the top of the island where the tumbling Squally Creek divides! Access is provided by the 40' long fallen tree bridge! Islandsite is amazing and very unique!
Diamondstone, Heartstone, and Islandsite all feature a picnic table, charcoal grille, and comfort facility. They are all within a short walk from your private parking! Enjoy evenings at the new fire pit area with benches overlooking the fire pit and creek!
Explore the island on the 400' island trail, or go downstream to a nice pool for dipping!

We had moved to this beautiful quiet country road the year before after spending 15 years in the hustle and bustle of West Asheville. When our neighbor put the land up for sale, we jumped at the chance to protect our view (we live across the street) and own another piece of the heaven we have come to call home. This land has a creek running through it, and is in a quiet, rural, residential area that is a mix of newcomers and families who have lived here for generations. The property has a secluded feel to it while being very conveniently located to the wonderful hiking, mountain biking, and trout fishing this area is famous for. 10/9/2024 NOTICE: We had some damage to our road due to Hurricane Helene that made it impassable. It has since been repaired and is opened to traffic. There are still some remaining rough areas, but the road is easily passable by passenger vehicles and RV's up to 28ft.
Our site was once part of a much larger farm growing tobacco and raising
cattle and other farm animals.
The existing tobacco barn was built in the early 1960's.
The concrete pad used for RV camping was used to store silage for the cows.
The non-potable water source is a mountain spring that has been used on the farm since the 1930's.
While many tobacco barns in the area have been
torn down for their rusted tin roofing and rustic siding, we have worked to
restore the barn and preserve its history.

- Bath House: The restored bathhouse is split into boys’ and girls’ sides. Each side has 2 private showers, 4 flushing toilets, sinks, hot water, and gas heat.
- Community Pavilion: The Pavilion is a large 40x30 ft. open sided structure overlooking the Nantahala River. It has an ample fireplace, running water sink, counter space, couches, and table with benches.
- Pack Room: Where the adventure begins! A cozy hub where all guests get local information, view maps, and grab some local seasonal groceries. Also available to all campers are washing sinks with hot water, toaster oven and microwave.
- Communication: Or rather, lack thereof! There's no cell service on the property so it's a great time to get away from it all. There is limited Wi-Fi available near the Pack Room and an emergency landline available.
- Charging: Traveling in an electric vehicle? Recharge for free at our dedicated EV 50amp outlet when you stay at any of our sites. First come, first served.

The cozy A-frame cabin sits beside the creek and offer tons of charm. Three rustic, historic cabins have been thoughtfully restored to preserve their old charm while adding modern comforts. Each cabin features either a roll-down cover or glass doors that open you to the outdoors, plus the amenities that make camping easy. We also offer two tent sites and a lovely bathhouse with two private rooms (each with sink, shower, and toilet), plus an outdoor shower in the warmer months.

Venture out and you’re surrounded by some of the best small mountain towns in the region, including Flat Rock, Saluda, Hendersonville, and Asheville. Just up the road you can explore nearly 100 miles of trails and stunning waterfalls at DuPont State Recreational Forest. Tellurian Family Campground offers conveniently located spacious travel trailer, camper, RV and tent camp sites with incredible views and access to a pristine mountain river. The property consists of 93 acres and 2780 feet (1⁄2 mile) of river frontage on the First Broad River. The First Broad River offers canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and fishing. Smallmouth and freshwater sunfishing is incredible on this stretch of the river and there are also opportunities for mountain river catfish.
Tellurian’s scenic location offers stunning vista views of the surrounding countryside, sprawling views of the South Mountain and Cherry Mountain ranges, as well as long range views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The sunsets are amazing and the star lit skies are uninhibited by city lights. One of the few lights that can be seen at night lights up a steeple silhouetted against the mountain ridges. It’s truly a peaceful site.
Tellurian is centrally located between Charlotte NC, Asheville NC, and Spartanburg SC in the small town of Casar, NC. We are located in a rural setting in the foothills on the edge of the South Mountains Range, a branch of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Thank you for checking out our place! We are Jud and Amanda Wortman. We have three children – Emma Grace and Baxter (twins) and Elena Jo. As a family, we enjoy canoeing, kayaking and camping. We live 9 miles from Tellurian on a family farm.
We have always enjoyed quiet secluded campsites, river floats and sitting by the river. After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We dream big and Tellurian remains a work in progress, but we feel we have created a place where folks can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, the river and incredible views.
Naming our campground proved to be one of the most challenging tasks throughout the process of developing it. After many ideas and brainstorming sessions as a family, we decided to go with Tellurian. We know it’s a bit different; that’s what we like about it. We think our place stands out and, after visiting Tellurian, we think you’ll agree it does too.

The Confluence campsite is situated on 21 acres between the north and south forks of Mills River. This serene campsite borders native trout water and an an additional 45 private acres that have been passed down in the Brittain family since the 1790s. The upper and lower meadow provides canoe, kayak and fishing access to South Mills River.
Four-wheel drive is needed during rainy weather.
(Please respect the privacy of neighboring property across the river.)
This very private campground is a five minute drive from Pisgah National Forest and 10 minutes from the Asheville Airport and the Sierra Nevada Brewing company.
You can follow signs in the driveway.
Stay left all the way up the driveway.
After you pass the barn, you will see a small sign and stay left below the cabin. When you come to the field, follow the arrows to the right to your campsite.
Four-wheel-drive is required for rainy weather.

I loved camping at the Brass Camp. Peaceful location in close proximity to the Bath House and Camp Store. Even on the high ground you can still hear the sounds of the Nantahala River. Be sure to spend some time walking around the Farm visiting all the animals.

What a magical spot this property offers! I feel full of gratitude for all of the moments we enjoyed: visiting the animals and noticing the tiny piglets scurrying after their mama, taking the long walk to put in tubes at the top of the property and enjoying the gorgeous meadow, relaxing into the slow and steady water - a welcome relief from some serious heat this week, walking up the hill to see the sky change color in the evening, and returning to waves of fireflies twinkling over the grass and up in the trees, mimicked by the occasional shooting star.
The mist in the morning is other worldly.
Worries I had (how far will the porta john be?), will there be enough shade, how many mosquitoes will we smack…. Turned out to not to be issues at all. Catherine gave us a great welcome. Camp neighbors are spread out and kind.
Cows bathe in the water on the far side of the river - a fun sight each morning from this spot. Entry to the water from the shooting shed site is a bit mucky, and there is still debris in the river: wear solid water shoes and it’s fine. Tubing upstream a bit felt less worrisome re cows, and if water play is our goal, I’d book rocks or rapids next time. And there will be a next time!
Shooting shed site has perfect trees for hammocks and a fantastic location for fireflies, lawn games, and cover for your kitchen! Also a great location for viewing the pigs.
We can’t wait to return, with friends!

We loved our trip. We did "Above the Fray "platform camping in Black Mountain #285 . It was our first time and we stayed just one night. We went with minimal items and just blew up an air mattress and slept under the stars. Very quiet. We will go back.

We booked both Big Ian and this spot in the river so we could have the views from the top as well as river access for the very hot days we were there. It’s so peaceful along the river! We caught a couple rainbow trout for dinner and enjoyed cooling off riverside. Andrew is a phenomenal host (this was my 3rd visit) and we will 100% be back for more.

Second time to Big Ian, third time to Lil Snowbird and if it was possible to love it more, I do. Booked a site on the river also because it was due to be in the 90s the whole visit and that was the perfect way to enjoy the view from the top and cool off and catch some trout at the bottom. Andrew is the best host around and I’m so grateful to have found this place years ago. Already talking about our next visit. Thank you!!!
We love that there’s no cell service. It’s nice to truly disconnect from the world in such a gorgeous place. The views are unbeatable. Cooking all our food on the open flame is awesome. Andrew’s fire pits are perfect. We are also grateful for the composting privy. A brilliant addition that gives a bit of glamp while still being completely primitive.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is it! The campsites were clean and private, with a lovely creek bubbling past many of them. The bath house was amazing! Clean, cool, and totally private. Other options for camping included a tiny house, a cabin, and safari tents. I highly recommend Tanglewood Creekside!

The camp site was beautiful and well maintained! Just enough shade to keep you cool. The views of the river and mountains were gorgeous and the sound of the water at night was very peaceful. Above the Fray completely lived up to its name! I didn’t want to leave. Doug has created something really special, and you can tell how much love and care he’s put into every detail. His communication was excellent from start to finish, and check-in and check-out couldn’t have been easier.
The platform shelter was solid, comfortable, and perfectly positioned to soak in the incredible views. Watching the mist roll through the Continental Divide made it feel like I was camping above the clouds. I camped through some storms, and the rain tarps were amazing—the bungee cords kept everything secure, and I stayed dry the whole time. The camp shower was another added convenience. It was refreshing and invigorating.
Electricity, plentiful water, and probably the cleanest porta-potty ever were huge bonuses. My electric kettle was worth bringing, and next time I’ll definitely pack an electric griddle. Pro tip: stock up on ice before heading up—you may not want to leave!
My dog, Kaya, loved it too. She spent hours relaxing on the platform enjoying the view and had plenty of room to wander the stairs and settle in for peaceful nights.
If you head into Black Mountain, support the local businesses. Lookout Brewing, the General Store, Sister Gifts, and a walk around Tomahawk Lake were all highlights. The strength and recovery of this community after Hurricane Helene are truly inspiring. ❤️

First time camping and we brought our littles in tow! (4, 4, 7months) perfect site. There are areas around the water that are more beach like for kids to get in and play. We were on site 1 but would definitely suggest 2 or 6 with kids. Andrew checked on us through the stay and we had no issues.
