The Confluence campsite is situated on 21 acres between the north and south forks of Mills River. This serene campsite borders native trout water and an an additional 45 private acres that have been passed down in the Brittain family since the 1790s. The upper meadow provides canoe, kayak and fishing access to South Mills River as well as shaded private mountain trails. This very private campground is a five minute drive from Pisgah National Forest and 10 minutes from the Asheville Airport and the Sierra Nevada Brewing company. Four-wheel-drive is recommended for rainy weather.

Due to snowy conditions, 4 wheel drive vehicles are required for the winter season. You will likely be visited by deer, turkeys, heron, and an occasional bald eagle as you settle in to this very private campsite. Pitch a tent on your private campsite on a 10x10 platform or on the freshly mown meadow. There are many hammock options available at the upper Meadow. The campsite borders South Mills River and 65 acres of private forest. The Confluence is located a short bike ride from national forest, 10 minutes from the Asheville airport and Sierra Nevada, and 25 minutes from the Biltmore Estate. The campsites are provided with a picnic table, Fire pit ,a shared Port-a- Potty, and Trash can.

This has become mine and my friend’s favorite local spot! Beautiful, well maintained land, lots of wildlife, and feeling like you’re disconnected from the world even though Ingles is just down the road! Will most definitely be back!

Cute little tucked away spot on the river. Perfect for a quick night away to detox from the rat race. Host was responsive and friendly. We even had firewood left on site to use.

It was very private, perfect trout fishing, stargazing and plenty of room for the kids to play. The road in is very narrow as advertised, one car, just be aware if you are hauling something. There was a little road noise but nothing bothersome and we slept well. The camp site is ready so all you need is to pitch your tent and unpack. Water, logs, hand sanitizer and paper towels and toilet paper were provided. We would definitely stay again.

It was a beautiful property, close enough to town that it wasn’t a huge undertaking if you needed something from the store but far enough away you don’t hear any traffic or sounds from densely populated areas! Definitely enjoyed my time!

This was the perfect spot for our family. Easy enough to get to for the late arrivers but secluded enough for a peaceful weekend in nature. Plenty of room to spread out, open area for the small children to run and play, forest to explore, and the river is easy enough to get to without being a concern for our two three year olds to wander into. They loved playing in the river! Is was a delight to meet and talk to Phil, who is so gracious to share this beautiful land with us. Covered picnic tables, fire pit, portable toilets in a tent... Nothing more needed. I highly recommend and we're sure to be back!

Beautiful property with easy river access. Other camps but spread out so still private. Fire pit and tables with chairs & portable toilet set up made camping here a luxury. Definitely want to come back to this magnificent spot.

Location, location, location! This campsite was perfect for kayaking on Mills River. We were able to put in right at the campsite and paddle to (near) Mills River Park. The water level was low, but still deep enough for our kayaks. There were many small rapids - a little challenging, but in a good way. We loved it! The campsite is on the edge of the meadow, sufficiently distanced from the next campsite over. There are also campsites across the river (a different HipCamp host) - not an issue at all, but just know that this isn’t a totally secluded spot. There are portable toilets at each site, which we appreciated. We didn’t see the host during our stay, though he did leave us a gallon of water. Thanks, Phil!

Meadows #1 was a huge site. The river was easy to get to. Site inlcuded toilet, 2 table (1 covered) , chairs , fire pit. Less than 10 minutes to 4 breweries/resturants. Lots of hiking options. Great place to stay.

Our stay was amazing. Secluded, peaceful, and right next to the river—this site was everything we hoped for. The campsite was clean and well maintained, and the natural setting made it feel like a true getaway. Phil’s communication was excellent, making arrival and setup smooth and stress-free. We would happily stay here again and again.

Very secluded and private area on Upper Meadow site 1. The raised tent platform is also a plus as it kept the tent dry from morning dew. Access to the river is ok, but wouldn’t recommend it for very young children. The only disadvantage was that the group of campers across the river (a different Hipcamp site) were a bit rowdy in the evening. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend staying here. Upper Meadow 1 is definitely the best of the four campsites.

3rd year in a row going with my girls (10 and 8). We love it and had the place to ourselves this week which they love even more. Phil provides a great setup that make for a great outdoor experience!

We had a great time camping in this peaceful space. There is a huge tree that we picnicked under each day of our visit. Having access to the river was huge, as it was pretty hot and it provided instant relief. A nice space to unplug and soak up nature for a bit.

Site was very spacious and far enough away from the others to not realy be bothered. The only weird thing is that the field is fully fenced in with what seemed like electric fencing with a few open spots to access the river. Seems like meadow 1 has the best set up in the back and a nice beach. Would still come back it was a beautiful spot
