We had such a good time tent camping! anytime I had a question or message I was met with a quick response and everything went smoothly! Loved having the full space to ourselves and the view was great!

What a great campsite next to Hanging rock state park! The site felt very private and such a great view of the sunset and mountains. The hosts take great care of the property and leave ample cleaning supplies for the poop shed. There is a dollar general only a few minutes from the site. Was a very relaxing experience!

What an epic spot! The view from here was spectacular, with a gorgeous sunset to boot! So clean, quiet, and set up perfectly with lots of seats and tables available, highly recommend this Hipcamp and I’ll definitely be back!

Loved our tenting stay at The Rocky Knoll. It was in the 90s but the site has areas of shade (and some sun to charge my solar fan). Cooling breeze, too. View is gorgeous.

We had a great time camping at this site. It’s easy to find and tucked away in the woods so very private. The site is quite spacious with room to spread out and a nice peekaboo view of the foothills. Big stone fire pit, multiple seating options, and 2 picnic tables. There is a large, flat, sandy tent pad and other flat areas for more tents. Nice loop around driveway for large vehicles. We did not try the bathroom amenities but they looked well maintained and a nice gesture. Looking forward to another stay here!

A group of my friends and I came out to enjoy the Rocky Knoll and we loved every bit of it! There was a beautiful sunset that peaked through the trees, a gorgeous view of the mountains, and countless options for hammocking. The firewood is an awesome touch, readily available and the host accommodates different ways to pay for it, which is nice. The "Poop Shed" is very clean and offers excellent privacy. We all joked about making this spot a quarterly trip, but have definitely agreed to come back in the fall!

Top-notch in every sense of the word. Wonderful hosts and the view is incredible. Trees perfect for your hammock, enough firewood to get you through a 50° day and even colder evening with no problem, a flat tent pad, and the most amazing poop shed/outhouse situation you’ll ever come across. Don’t think twice. Book this site.

Great spot. Good folks. Highly recommend. About as much wilderness as you can get in that area without owning your own plot. Woke up next to a turkey in strut. Pretty cool.

Great little spot to spend some time and relax.
Its proximity to Hanging Rock is really nice. Hosts were wonderful to communicate with and made everything really easy to understand about their place.
Would definitely recommend to others and would stay again in a heartbeat.

If this is available BOOK IT! Don't even think twice. Easy access, privacy, perfect views, it was like a different world up there. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you for such an awesome experience.

Reviews Don’t Lie! We enjoyed our 2 night stay immensely : ) The View oh the View! A nice level spot for vehicle camping. The nice fire pit was large well maintained w plenty of wood to purchase at a reasonable price (we didn’t use it bc of high wind gusts) w a good barrier to keep a fire with a breeze or light winds. The entire camp spot was clean even the poop closet (we have our own bathroom setup so we didn’t use it). The non-potable water and other touches was such a plus and there’s plenty of space to spread out and relax. Very private campground and we felt safe and relaxed during our stay. We got some unexpected rain in the early morning. The grounds dried out very quickly! We enjoyed the night sky and stars, the sunset and rise and the music of the birds and frogs and other living creature around us as we fell asleep and woke up. Great location to enjoy Hanging Rock (we hiked there before checking in) and Pilot Mountain if u so choose. There r also lovely and super convenient local parks to enjoy as well (we visited Horizons Park after checkout). We look fwd to our nxt stay at Rocky Knoll!

I only spent a brief amount of time here (arrived after dark and left in the AM) but you can feel the intentionality that went in to create a beautiful site! I had a great night and plan to come back to hopefully get to soak in the view!

Second time staying here and as before it’s perfect! Great views in the morning and a beautiful site. If you want to go camping and get away from city lights and noise without driving hours away, this is your spot!

We had a nice peaceful overnight trip. You can tell the owners take pride in their property to ensure a great guest experience. The site was clean. Stocked with wood, plenty of seating, the little gnomes was a cute touch. View was beautiful. We would definitely come back!

Lois and Mike's spot was just as described!!!! The view is gorgeous! We couldn't believe how big the spot was, and we had it all to ourselves! The sunsets were beautiful and the star gazing was incredible. We had a clear night both nights and the stars were all out!!! We are already trying to plan another trip. You will not be disappointed with this site!!!!

The Rocky Knoll is a beautiful little spot with an amazing view! Easy to access with additional seating provided, a lovely fire pit, and a well leveled tent pad. My dogs and I had a great time and the hosts were amazing! My battery ended up dying in my car the second night and they quickly helped me resolve the issue. I can’t wait to go back when it gets warm again. Thank you both so much!
