The following are but a few of our favorite things to do within a short drive: visit Linville Falls, Caverns, Gorge and/or Winery; cruise the Blue Ridge parkway; pick apples at the Orchard at Altapss; tube/kayak down the Catawba river; hike beautiful Tom’s Creek Falls or Crabtree Falls; cross Grandfather Mountains mile high bridge and explore the nearby towns of Spruce Pines or Little Switzerland. The scenic drives to Asheville, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Sugar and Beech mountains make them each wonderful day-trip destinations as well.
We are happy to supply a comprehensive list upon request (including distance, drive time and links with directions) but there is also plenty of exploring to do right at here on site where nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts are encouraged to explore, on foot or mountain-bike, anywhere within our 170 acres (or the adjoining 250 acres owned by the US Forestry Service off our North Western border) and are likely to catch glimpses of turkey, beaver, deer, fox, eastern box turtle and the many species of songbird and raptor.

PLEASE NOTE, our rate is based on the number of vehicles in your group. The first vehicle is included in the nightly rate and admits 4 campers. WE CHARGE FOR ADDITIONAL CARS. The charge will be added to your booking once you select the number of vehicles at checkout.
Please note that each additional car admits four campers. For EXAMPLE, 2 cars = 8 campers total. If you only have two cars but more than eight people, YOU MUST select the "Extra Person" Extra for each night they are camping. Please select these extras at checkout. Our 95-acre farm was once owned by the Davis family who predominantly raised dairy cattle. We now raise the wooly Mangalitsa pig and sell to the best chefs and restaurants. We sell our pork at the farm too!
All of our campsites are next to running water except the two hilltop sites.
Two porta-potties are on the farm and private porta-potties are available for rent. Groups of eight or more are required to rent a porta potty should you not bring your own toilet system with you. We do not allow the use of our small wooded areas as toilets. No porta potties are provided b/tw Dec 15 and March 15

We are 1 mile off of I 40, 17 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 15 min. to Maggie Valley, 10 min to the Elk at Cataloochee, 25 min to Cataloochee ski area, 10 min to Lake Junaluska and 15 min to downtown Waynesville. Asheville is 20 miles to our East.

Festival season is fast approaching, and we are centrally located for you to take advantage of all the fun festivities! Sites are already booking fast, and we don't want anyone to miss out on the fun!
Please respect our land by not bringing firewood from off-site and burning it here. We are a working farm that allows camping, not a campground. Our native trees and crops could easily be devastated by outside diseases or pests that are carried in firewood. We offer firewood for sale from our farm (delivered to your site for no additional fee). You do NOT have to purchase it prior to your arrival, and we have large tubs too!
Our STORE offers firewood, meats, eggs, Tallow, lard (both rendered right here!), drinks, Amish ice cream and jams/jellies/preserves, hammocks, hammock chairs, smoked dog bones, soaps (made right here), rentals of: cast iron cookware, a tent, Coleman stove, fishing poles, ... and MUCH MORE!
Please note that all our sites are reserved with a one vehicle limit. Some sites are large enough to accommodate additional vehicles but each additional vehicle will incur a $10 per night charge. Free parking for additional vehicles is located at the office/store.
Looking for a camping experience with a little luxury to boot? Look no further than our Oasis at Harmon Creek Farms! You can drive right up to most sites, weather permitting. You will have access to a fire ring and picnic table (located at each site), firewood for sale on site (please do not bring firewood from off-site), clean well water (located near the pond), the creek to explore, our stocked pond to fish, and wooded trails to hike. Once roamed by Native Americans and now farmed by the same family for over 6 generations, Harmon Creek Farm is a working farm of over 160 acres. Peace, quiet, tranquility and privacy are overflowing along the creek, and hiking throughout the hills on the backside of the farm (and on the other side of the creek) leads to interesting and abundant flora and fauna. The stocked, spring fed pond is 'brimming" with angler challenges🎣

We're about 10-15 minutes' drive away from downtown Asheville and a $12-$15 Uber ride. Unfortunately, public transportation is not very accessible from the campground.
*FAQ: Is this a good spot to bring my kiddos?
Our campground is not equipped to handle the magical, whirlwind force that children release unto the world. There's a lot of breakable stuff, tempting treehouses (that might be occupied by other guests!), sites that are within earshot of each other, and hazards that aren't a good fit for kids.
WHAT'S NEARBY?
- There are approximately a bajillion breweries in Asheville, many of which are within 5-15 minutes away.
- Downtown Asheville (~10-15 minutes), West Asheville (~5-10 minutes) and the River Arts District (~5 minutes)
-Hiking! Waterfalls, mountain-top views, fog-drenched valleys, rambling rivers... There are some trails about 20 minutes away, but to get to the good stuff, you'll drive 40-90+ minutes.

Sleep under the stars while listening to the river run while staying on a working farm! During the summer months watch our vegetables grow and the pickers pick! The winter months you'll enjoy a sea of green as our cover crop takes over the field.
You can cool off in the river or check out the surrounding Pisgah National Forest. Dogs on leashes are welcome and owner is responsible for cleaning up after pet.
The farm provides a portable toilet but no other amenities. Campfires may be restricted, so check local regulations. This is a working farm, so please be respectful of the crops and workers and keep dogs on leashes. Fishing is NOT allowed on the river unless you have booked a trip with one of our guides. Please note, if it’s rainy the roads will be muddy and 4-wheel-drive vehicles are the best option.
Head 4 miles east to the town of Mills River for restaurants, stores, and services. You can find hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails within a short bike or car ride in Pisgah National Forest. Chimney Rock State Park is 25 miles east and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountain scenery. Or perhaps go for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Bald Eagles have been seen on April 27th, 2026! The views are hypnotic, looking down and out over the continental divide. Good morning, and sunsets can be seen from the same spot. Your car is parked within feet of your deck, so Car Campers and experienced campers can enjoy. Designed with campers and dogs in mind. The deck is large (384 square feet) with a tin roof. Some are two-thirds, and some are one-third, depending on what one wants for tent size or sun exposure. (See pictures of each site/deck) Each deck features sun and rain curtains to help keep you comfortable in both sunny and rainy weather. Dogs enjoy a two-gate system that allows guests and dogs to be leash-free and away from the road. All dog owners know to pick up after their pets. The human Private Porta John is cleaned frequently. Lights and electrical outlets are 110V (3 prongs) for YOUR coffee pots, electric grills, mattress inflators, crockpots, electric blankets, fans, etc. I do not provide any electrical appliances, other than counter area lighting and low-level string lights, so one can see the night sky. PMany of my campers will "Pay it Forward" and leave coffee pots, hot plates, fans and such, so count yourself lucky to find a deck with them. I provide chairs, 5 gallons of fresh water in containers, a fickle solar shower, and a pop-up changing room, along with an assortment of camping supplies from dog bowls to antimicrobial. I provide various-size garbage bags to manage your garbage. Your parking area is next to the deck. Black Mountain’s tasty restaurants are 4 miles away, and All Trails is an excellent app for finding trails suited for your interests. Be respectful, please.
Private Glamping Decks with a view that pictures do not do justice. Private decks on a dead-end gravel road mean hopefully the sounds will only be of nature. The conveniences of electricity, porta john, water, chairs, table, roof, cleaning supplies, rain curtains, and astounding views have my Glampers coming back often. Designed with Dogs in mind with a two-gate system and no need for a leash when on the deck. Obnoxious, barking dogs are not welcome, so bring only controlled and well-socialized dogs. Help me keep it dog-friendly. Never block the road with a park car.

The Confluence campsite is situated on 21 acres between the north and south forks of Mills River. This serene campsite borders native trout water and an an additional 45 private acres that have been passed down in the Brittain family since the 1790s. The upper and lower meadow provides canoe, kayak and fishing access to South Mills River.
Four-wheel drive is needed during rainy weather.
(Please respect the privacy of neighboring property across the river.)
This very private campground is a five minute drive from Pisgah National Forest and 10 minutes from the Asheville Airport and the Sierra Nevada Brewing company.
You can follow signs in the driveway.
Stay left all the way up the driveway.
After you pass the barn, you will see a small sign and stay left below the cabin. When you come to the field, follow the arrows to the right to your campsite.

A small homestead on the bank of Abbotts Creek near where it feeds into High Rock Lake. Peace and solitude , but close to the amenities of town. Less than a five minute drive to the grocery store, and less than a fifteen minute drive to uptown Lexington. Public access for kayaks is less than half a mile away. And the view is unbelievable!
We have a corn hole board and bags now available for use, as well as a few other yard games. Please let us know if you are interested in using them.

We had an awesome stay here with Brady. Everything was exactly as advertised. Site 9 was absolutely breathtaking. The sunsets and sunrises were unreal. Also seems to be a hawk living nearby as it would soar over our campsite each morning and then glide out over the valley. Absolutely awesome.
Brady was so great. We really enjoyed getting to meet and chat with him. Super friendly and helpful. Made sure we were settled in well and got us a great map to navigate the area - hikes, lakes, etc.
The location is gorgeous. Very remote, which is what we were looking for. But close to the Cherohala Skyway, Joyce Kilmer, Lake Santeetlah and of course fishing right on snowbird creek.
We couldn't recommend the place enough and plan to come back as soon as we're able.

Absolutely amazing campground. Location is 10 out of 10. Go up river for a mile or so for some winding swamps before it becomes a more straightforward river. The cove right by the campsite has the most impressive cypresses nearby. The backwaters near site 1 are beautiful and fun to crawl into. The current isn't too strong, my 70 year old dad could go a few miles upriver no problem. The sites are well maintained, the community area is superb, the beach and boat launch is beautiful, and wildlife is incredible! We will be back for sure. While you're in the area, definitely put in at Henrys Landing and paddle down through the swamp towards the Hunt's Bluff campground. 12 miles total, we did it in 4 hours, but I'd recommend at least 6-8 for a relaxed trip and time in the swamp.
Ask Lisa for Todd's number from Cape Fear Paddle (or go to capefearpaddle.com), as Todd will rent you kayaks, dropped off and picked up from the campsite for the cheapest rate in the state. Amazing service and it goes hand in hand with Lisa's amazing home.

I loved this spot so much. I can’t believe all the amenities Carmen has set up for her guests. Tables, chairs, awnings, fire pits, bathrooms it truly made for such a relaxing and enjoyable trip. Carmen was so sweet and friendly and went out of her way to make sure I had what I needed. Also shout out to Adam who helps Carmen out at the property, he helped me with the fire and even brought me some stater wood. Can’t say enough good things about this place 💜

We loved our stay at this quaint little cabin! We loved stripping back to the essentials and enjoying the property and the animals. If there was anything that we forgot, the host had it on hand! We loved giving treats to Jack the Donkey and laughed every time he cried when we walked away. We also enjoyed feeding the pigs our scraps. My daughter had a blast picking and arranging a small flower arrangement from the flowers on site. She also picked some herbs and we used them on our pork chops and potatoes that we cooked on the grill. The hosts were attentive and super friendly. We would stay here again if we had the opportunity!

Peaceful, beautiful and perfect. 5G cell service. The trees by the river provided wonderful shade and kept us cool even in this 90 degree humid weather. We saw cows in the river, humming birds not even 15 feet away and even heard the donkeys yelling around 5pm when it was feeding time. The ground by the river was good and flat for our tent with no sticks or rocks to worry about. We can't wait to come back.

Wonderful spot right on the river and convenient to so many hiking spots. The porta potty was super convenient and clean! Would definitely stay again!

The yurt and view were amazing!! The bathhouse was still being built when we we here, but the outdoor showers worked amazingly.

Camping on pebble beach was terrific. The bathouse was awesome as well and we were glad they were there as it was hot. Blair was a very reaponsive host and got back to me quickly and worked to get our campsite for an early check in. The area is very nice with plenty to do close by. Since we like to play disc golf, North Cove is just up the road and it was fun.

Weekend Trip to Kerr Lake Glamping at Holly Forest
I absolutely loved this place! Jim and Becky thought of everything. The tent was very well appointed and exactly like the pictures described. It was a wonderful solo travel experience and being close to the lake for early morning paddling was just perfect! Loved it and will definitely return.

This is a nice, clean campsite that is great for a weekend jaunt. Directions to the property were clear and the host was responsive. Camp site 1 has ample room for at least 3 small to medium tents. I timed my visit with a meteor shower, but alas, the stars were not aligned for good viewing that night! Site one is in the trees so did not have good star viewing, but I did get a good viewing of the sunset from the grill area! This area had lots of seating and open space. I appreciated the path lights on the way back down to my campsite because I can get lost in a straight line. Next time I want to see the stars I will spring for one of the yurts or the geodesic domes as these have much nicer viewing areas and are really where it's at. These sites had fewer mosquitos as well. The trail on the site was OK as far as hiking goes. I did enjoyed seeing wildlife such as wildflowers, deer and tons of types of fungi on the trail. I would recommend the yurt campsites to friends.

I loved staying here so much! I'm normally a tent camper, so this felt like straight luxury. Everything was so well thought of. It was so considerate of Doug to have water for us there and even a little picnic table to sit and eat at. I enjoyed the views so much I could never bring myself to close the curtains. But I'm sure of you needed to you could use them to block the sun if it gets too warm. There was also an electric fan already there to use which did come in hand even though I did bring a small camp one. My stay was mid August and it was about on the 80s mid day and in the 60s at night. I never felt too hot, but this Texas gal got cold at night. I never found the bugs to be too bad either, but bring big spray if you attract mosquitoes like I do. Overall, my pup and I enjoyed the stay so much and definitely plan on coming back. This place is such a treat.

This is honestly my favorite place to camp. I needed a break from life. It is so quiet and peaceful. The view is amazing. The rain on the tin roof was the perfect setting for a weekend filled with reading and recharging.

Loved the entire place. The hosts are so sweet and caring they really want you to enjoy your stay. I recommend staying here. It was peaceful the site was perfect. The donkey laughing in the morning made my day! If you want rustic amc primitive out of three way in nature camping but close enough to grab a coffee or groceries this is the place for you! We plan on coming back for sure! My dog already misses swimming in the creek!

2 nights at Kerr Lake Glamping at Holly Forest
Absolutely loved my first glamping experience! The Serenity Loft was absolutely beautiful and had everything you could possibly need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The stairs were a little tricky at first, but I got used to them. The property itself was gorgeous and so peaceful—it truly felt like a little getaway from the everyday hustle and bustle.
The host was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, which made the experience even more special. One of my favorite added touches was having a golf cart available to get around the property as needed. It made exploring and enjoying the beautiful surroundings so much easier and more fun!
I would absolutely recommend this experience to all of my family and friends. If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful, and memorable getaway, this is definitely the place to stay! I can’t wait to come back!
