Travelers Rest is an iconic and historical creekside playground. With only four RV and camper sites available, you can enjoy a private getaway where Steel Creek and Upper Creek converge into one of the most beautiful swimming holes on the mountain. This isn’t your typical campground; there is no office or formal check-in. Simply book online and pull right into your private mountain resort. Nestle your camper on the edge of the bank where the creeks meet within the Pisgah National Forest. Sites include full hookups with 30-amp power, water, and sewer. Cell service is available for some carriers using AT&T towers. Enjoy a campsite with the space and privacy to truly relax. You will be minutes away from the entrance to Table Rock and near popular attractions such as Linville Gorge, Upper Creek Falls, Wilson’s Creek, Lake James, Brown Mountain Overlook, and the OHV trails. This is a unique getaway spot for those traveling with an RV or camper. Please note that tent camping is currently not permitted unless accompanied by an RV, as there are no restroom facilities on-site. To reach your site, turn off Highway 181 onto Brown Mountain Beach Road, then take an immediate left onto Up The Creek Road. Continue down the private dirt road where you will find your gravel and sand site on the left, marked by a campsite number sign.

This is one of those places I don’t want to give a good review because I want it all to myself! It is THAT good. We met friends here for the weekend and found it to offer both relaxation and adventure . It is easy to find and private yet an expansive property with hiking, river fun and paintable views. All hookups worked perfectly and are easy to reach. Best place we have ever stayed.

Travelers Rest - Camper/RV Site #3
Traveler’s Rest is a beautiful camping site. We went with 2 friends and rented 2 sites for the weekend. We had a great time hiking, sitting in the creek and enjoying the weather. Traveler’s Rest is in a great location whether you want to rest and read a book, go see Table Rock or go to Newland. We will definitely stay there again.
