We have undeveloped farmland with small clearings for camping across from Riverside Park on the Northeast Cape Fear River.
Our land is located in Castle Hayne, NC, an equestrian community just north of Wilmington.
Swimming, fishing, kayaking, and sunbathing are available on the river. Down the road in Castle Hayne you'll find mountain biking, horseback riding, disc golf, restaurants and socialization (try Luck's Tavern for great live music and karaoke!)
We're also located just a short trip away from unique area attractions, including Masonboro Island, Screen Gems Film and TV Studios, The USS North Carolina Battleship, Fort Fisher, Wrightsville Beach, and Historic Downtown Wilmington.

Shady Grove 1
We loved the spot, clean and quiet and most importantly peaceful. Was able to just relax and enjoy the stars. No loud traffic and very short drive to wonderful places. Thank you Jane and Tucker

Shady Grove 1
Fine spot but no response from host
The Shady Grove 1 campsite worked well for my single overnight need as a place to park my vehicle. The shared field in which all of the camping spots are located is attractive, mowed, generally quiet, and just a little bit sloped. However, the directions to access the field could benefit from an update, as the actual entrance is not gated and is not located at the end of the road across from the park entrance. When I found the location described as such I followed the host's instructions to contact her to open the gate. After not hearing back, I drove up and down the road in the near-dark and finally found the actual entrance to the field and messaged her again but still didn't hear from her. I feel disappointed by the 100% lack of communication by the host, from booking through stay. It seems I would have been left high and dry if there had been an issue I wasn't able to solve myself.

Sunny Meadow 6
Peaceful and quiet
Lovely quiet spot to spend the night, open field walking distance to the river just over the road. We parked at the top of the hill near the Forrest and had the whole place to ourselves. Lovely quiet nights sleep!
Woke up to the sun raising over the trees, lovely!

Shady Grove 1
Just what we were looking for!
We actually camped the Forest Nook site (which shares a field with the Shady Grove site), and it was perfect. We woke up to about 8-10 deer walking through the woods on the edge of our campsite! The sites are peaceful and private, but still close to everything in the area. The river is right across the street. Our host, Jane, was very responsive and helpful. We will definitely book this site again!
