Wandering Caboose Ranch is the perfect getaway for nature lovers! We're located about 20 minutes from the Cabazon outlets, Morongo Casino and 25 minutes from Idyllwild! Come enjoy 20 acres of quiet green rolling hills and cool breezes. We have a designated hill top for your camping enjoyment. We can also provide a tent (fits up to 4 people) and queen size mattress if needed! Also included; BBQ grill, campfire, picnic table and lawn chairs. A camping toilet is on the campsite. Pets are definitely allowed, feel free to walk your dogs on our dirt roads. You can even stop by for a visit with our goats, ducks and chickens. At night, you won't want to miss the incredible view of the stars and the colorful lights of the Morongo Casino! Come see for yourself! Feel free to reach out with any questions. Happy camping!Come enjoy an entire hill top for your camping adventure! No hookups, just beautiful nature! The hilltop is cleared for tents, vans/vehicles or smaller RV's. We have a BBQ grill for your cooking needs and a propane firepit to enjoy at night. We also have a fire extinguisher available, just to be cautious. 2 lawn chairs overlook the gorgeous mountain and valley views. If needed, we can provide a camping tent (fits up to 4 people), a queen size mattress and a portable camping toilet. Feel free to bring your pets and explore the land! Look up at the night stars for an unforgettable view and in the morning, wake up overlooking a sea of clouds in the valley below. Tent camping on this beautiful hilltop was so wonderful! It was a bit last minute but everything was so lovely from the grill to view of the full moon rising over the mountains!

The campsite was breathtaking, such an incredible view! As the sun went down, we noticed the fire pit was out of propane. We contacted Mathew and he came over minutes later to check it out. He confirmed that the propane tank was empty and drove back into town to grab us some more! With how last minute we booked, Mathew was extremely responsive and helpful. He gave us recommendations for things to do in the area and offered to check out his farm animals! The directions are spot on as well, site was easy to find and not too difficult to traverse. Would definitely recommend this site

Sunset Overlook
Matthew and his wife have such a quaint and special mountain top spot overlooking the "chocolate mountains". The sunset with a propane fire was gorgeous and so beautiful to watch the stars come out! There was evertyhing I needed at the site with the bbq, propane firepit, propane tank and a fire extinguisher readily available! I absolutely adored the Caboose on the property and excited to see its future as a lodging option!

This spot was a pleasant surprise and very beautiful. You are on the very top of a small mountain with exceptional views at every angle. Our host was very welcoming and accommodating, they offered every small amenity that we could need. Just be aware that it can get a bit windy due to the location, but despite that it was a great time.
