Note: Flitterbug Farm is in a rural, agricultural part of South Florida. The setting is peaceful, but it’s also alive with the sounds of farm life and wildlife. Our property is 15 minutes South, from I75, 10 minutes from any restaurant or publix. We are a 2 mile drive down a dirt road, through the state forest. We offer 2-3 acres of a choose your own spot camping area. Located within the Picayune Strand State Forest, full of peace and quiet, and plenty of birds. We have a facility building that runs off a generator for running water. With that, we have a washroom, that consists of a large shower, and 2 bathroom stalls. we have then propane heated hot water for a nice hot shower. The sites are very " free range". Nothing that is too designated, so you have a free choice of where to pitch your tent, or park your camper van, or your RV.
Come and stay within the Evergaldes in Naples, of SWFL. A special private place like no other. You may have the place all to yourself, or share with others. It is not populated like other campgrounds.
The property is a designated farm, and we do have chickens.

Downtown Fort Myers is about a 20-minute drive and has many local restaurants and shops if you want to go out and about. They typically have events on the weekends like Art Walk and Music Walk!
We are a 20-minute drive from Babcock Ranch - a community open to the public that has several walking/biking trails, a beautiful lake for kayaking/fishing, and a small dog park. If you are looking for a full farm-to-table experience, Buckingham Farms is 20 minutes from us and is a 85-acre farm with fresh produce grown hydroponically! Flitterbug Farm is home to a collection of majestic oak trees covered in spanish moss, ferns, and flowering vines. The oak trees loom high over a glittering pond, which is great for swimming during the summer months when the water is high. Tropical fruit trees, vegetables, herbs, and flowers decorate our gardens while chickens and bees wander the land. Expect beautiful stars, local wildlife such as owls and chameleons, an outdoor shower, and a "hippie hot tub" powered by a campfire. Sunsets on Flitterbug Farm are truly epic.
The land is close to 180 miles of local kayak trails, a 10 minute drive from beautiful walking trails, and about an hour from the beach. We offer a rustic composting toilet, a heated outdoor shower, and a simple outdoor kitchen zone with a sink and stovetop.
Note: Flitterbug Farm is in a rural, agricultural part of South Florida. The setting is peaceful, but it’s also alive with the sounds of farm life and wildlife. You may hear roosters, dogs, owls, frogs, and the usual country activity from nearby neighbors. Many guests find the natural soundscape part of the charm, but we want you to know what to expect.

Our property is 15 minutes South, from I75, 10 minutes from any restaurant or publix. We are a 2 mile drive down a dirt road, through the state forest. We offer 2-3 acres of a choose your own spot camping area. Located within the Picayune Strand State Forest, full of peace and quiet, and plenty of birds. We have a facility building that runs off a generator for running water. With that, we have a washroom, that consists of a large shower, and 2 bathroom stalls. we have then propane heated hot water for a nice hot shower. The sites are very " free range". Nothing that is too designated, so you have a free choice of where to pitch your tent, or park your camper van, or your RV.
Come and stay within the Evergaldes in Naples, of SWFL. A special private place like no other. You may have the place all to yourself, or share with others. It is not populated like other campgrounds.
The property is a designated farm, and we do have chickens.
Day time check-in is 100% recommended.

But please know the camp sites are far from music stage, pavilion, and festival area, and the music is usually ONLY during the afternoons and over by 4pm, so the evenings are quiet.

We are centrally located in the rural area of the Bayshore Community with only a 5-minute drive to I-75, a 20-minute drive to Downtown Fort Myers, and a 20-minute drive to Babcock Ranch.
Being only 5 minutes away from I-75 makes it quick and easy to either drive down south to Bonita Springs to enjoy our local beaches or north to Punta Gorda to explore!
Downtown Fort Myers is about a 20-minute drive and has many local restaurants and shops if you want to go out and about. They typically have events on the weekends like Art Walk and Music Walk!
We are a 20-minute drive from Babcock Ranch - a community open to the public that has several walking/biking trails, a beautiful lake for kayaking/fishing, and a small dog park. They also have a restaurant (Lakehouse Kitchen and Bar) that looks out over the water and live entertainment on certain days of the week!
If you are looking for a full farm-to-table experience, Buckingham Farms is 20 minutes from us and is a 85-acre farm with fresh produce grown hydroponically! We are also a one-minute drive to "Blossom & Brie" which is another farm-to-table experience that offers brunch, lunch, and dinner on a 50 acre farm!
With just a 2-minute drive, we have two parks, Nalle Grade Park and Pop Ash Creek Preserve, for those who enjoy nature walks, fishing, or birding. There are also a handful of other nature preserves and parks in the local area that are around a 20 to 25-minute drive!
There are many other restaurants, parks, and local businesses nearby for you to enjoy if you want to get out and explore the local area!

Trina is a visionary who knows how to make it happen. This place is very unique and offers way more than the average campsite. There are areas you can have privacy as well as areas you can enjoy with other like minded travelers.
There is a house you can rent through Airbnb or reserve a spot for your tent or preferred camping method. I was in a camper van and there was another group on a caravanning kayaking trip with a small boat trailer, and all were able to drive to their spots without issue.
Trina and Zay were welcoming and knowledgeable about their land, made me feel right at home. As a solo woman traveler, I felt safe and slept like a baby .There’s a pond, chameleons, large open areas and a few areas that are a work in progress.
The best outdoor shower I’ve seen in years with hot water!
Would absolutely recommend and look forward to returning to see what new elements they add.
Oh, if you’re working remotely or need internet, I was able to use a hotspot through Verizon but also was able to connect to Trina’s WiFi network too.

A Very nice palm lined property with a very friendly host. There are 3 dogs on property, so be aware of this if you decide to book. They didn’t bark, and weren't invasive in any way, but if YOUR dog/cat is bothered by other dogs being around, you’ll just need to be aware. We had a lovely stay, and were close enough to the keys that we spent a whole day (left at 9am) and made it all the way to the southernmost tip of the U.S., with time to spare for Dinner on the way back home. Great stay! (full hookups BTW)

This was a great spot for our needs. It was a central location for visiting the Everglades and the northern keys. Quiet location with level spots. Saw some beautiful peacocks while staying here. Robert is Here fruit stand is just 2 miles away. Make sure to stop and try a milk shake.

We ended up not staying at site #1, but rather around the lake, under the palms. It was so peaceful. The night sky was amazing. Our dogs ran around and we got to know Bruno the farm dog, as well as the horses who visited us (and enjoyed carrots). I would stay in the same site again.

Before you go camping in South Florida, consider the weather, mosquitoes, and wildlife. Avoid coastal Florida during hurricane season, especially if you’re planning a getaway to the Florida Keys. Summer in the Everglades likewise brings bugs, whereas winter’s dry season opens the door for spotting wildlife. However, winter does come with crowds, especially in national parks and resort towns. Spring and fall make for the most neutral camping seasons.
