the campground is under an ancient canopy of oaks. so youll always have shade. the center of the property is unique to say the least but the campground is nature at its finest.
there is a 2.6 mile nature trail across from the campground to explore.
also there is a boat ramp for fishing about 1/8 mile away. you are welcome to roam over most of the 80 acres. We have goats, cows and chickens as well. All super friendly.

This property is home to a farm/nursery operation and has a large pond on the west side. The pond is Spring-fed at the headwaters of Marsh Branch Creek which begins at our property and flows West about five miles in to Tampa Bay.
Approximately 33 private acres allows for plenty of space between our campsites.
Property is home to a farm with hundreds of fruit trees- Lychee, Mango, Starfruit, Papaya, Guava). Red Mombin, and thousands of banana plants.
Fishing can be great, wildlife and bird watching too.
Fenced and gated for safety, this old historic nursery property has good vibes and plenty to offer. Until you see it - you really may not understand.
Parts of property are wide open, other areas are rugged and difficult to walk through including some wetland areas.
The nursery has plenty of trees, and some fields -the large pond is surrounded by cattails and marsh/wetlands and has fish (Bass, Tilapia, Sunfish, Catfish).
Several species of wildlife have been seen on the property.
We think the property is lovely, and definitely want you to enjoy your camping experience!

The site has direct access to Pepper Creek Trail, a 0.75-mile paved trail that is part of the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. Our RV and Tent Campsites are located in a grassy field next to dense woods. Electric and water hookups are included in the RV/Camper sites, but not the Tent Site. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Our newly renovated restrooms on the property have toilets and one shower. A boardwalk takes you along the Cotee River to our two open air pavilions with several places to sit and enjoy nature. Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants.
This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers.
From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting.
We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. It is our intention to do our part to conserve and protect its natural beauty as long as possible. We hope you find it to be as restful and rejuvenating as we do.

We loved staying with Rob & Mike. We were escorted to our campsite and given a brief tour of the shared spaces. Live Oak had a wonderful tree canopy which kept the temperatures manageable. Each day we were visited by donkeys and horses who were all very curious and friendly. We joined the tour Saturday morning and meeting all the goats, holding a kid, and meeting Lucy and the mini horses was the best! Rob and Mike are knowledgeable and friendly. Felt like I knew them for years! We will be back for sure!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Tess’s property! The setting is peaceful and beautiful, with a barn providing a cozy, covered spot for the kitchen area—complete with a fridge, microwave, and morning coffee. The picnic tables under cover were a huge plus on rainy days. Tess was an incredible host—she welcomed us warmly, showed us around, and even offered bikes so we could enjoy a ride down to the river. We had all the comforts—bathroom access in the barn, water, electricity, and even an above-ground pool Tess generously offered. One morning, we woke up to free-range chickens and a rooster’s call, adding to the charm. Tess even brought us fresh eggs and peaches, which made the stay extra special. We also met a lovely couple staying for the summer and shared a picnic dinner with them. Overall, Tess’s hospitality and her property made for a perfect, relaxing getaway. We can’t recommend it enough!

Fantastic camping spot! The host Rob and Mike couldn’t have been nicer! They both met us at the gate and guided us to our RV camp spot! What a beautiful spot it was. All the necessities, potable water, 30 amp electric, sewer and great Wi-Fi reception. The view was outstanding overlooking a cypress forest with hiking trails. Friendly horses and donkeys roaming freely through the camp grounds. A bad thunderstorm rolled through and the electric didn’t even flicker! They also have showers and bathrooms. A kitchen with microwave and a deep sink for washing up. This is a working farm so you do have to navigate a few gates but very easy to handle. I highly recommend the Lucky U ranch either for a destination stay or just passing through stay! We will definitely be going back!

First and foremost, this was such a peaceful and amazing campsite. Having electric hookups was a huge bonus since most places I camp don’t offer them, and the water hose was only about a two-minute walk away. It really felt like an upgraded primitive camping experience. My daughter wasn’t a fan of the outdoor bathrooms at first since it was her first time camping without plumbing, but she adjusted quickly. There were also several stores within 10 minutes if we needed anything.
The area itself was incredibly tranquil. I loved relaxing in my hammock and listening to the cicadas in the evenings. We also visited the rescue animals a few times during our stay, and I absolutely love that the money from bookings helps care for and feed them. There are no roosters on site, so you don’t have to worry about loud crowing early in the morning. You may hear occasional soft animal noises depending on where you’re staying, which I personally found really charming.
The campsite had tons of space, and even though other families were staying there, we barely saw anyone. It honestly felt like we had the entire place to ourselves.
The location was perfect too — only about 15 minutes from Rainbow Springs and around 30 minutes from Crystal River, which was exactly why we chose this area. Finding a campsite conveniently located near both was ideal.
Overall, this was a fantastic stay and we will definitely be back!

Such a lovely spot not too far from home. Plenty of space between sites, the most adorable bathrooms and showers, and the farm animals - oh my heart!
Horses and donkeys do roam the property during the day and will absolutely come into your campsite to explore and potentially wreak some good natured havoc.

It was a wonderful time camping out there, there were others near by bit ot wasnt a problem at all. It stormed while we were there and we still loved every bit of it. The way they have their property set up is wonderful, beautiful boardwalk and gazebo area to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. 10 out of 10 would recommend and would definitely stay again and again!
PS. Their dog is the sweetest lil boy!

My family and I love to camp. We decided to treat ourselves to a little break from our tent and stay in the RV at Happy Campers Rescue Ranch. This was a delightful upgrade from sleeping in a tent! It rained most of the evening and we stayed nice and dry. The mattress was very comfortable and the hosts were friendly. There was a firepit for us to grill our dinner. Great location near state parks!

Rob and Mike were great hosts and very accommodating! The sites are well-placed and the bathrooms well-maintained. We enjoyed the animal guests on the property, although I recommend keeping your distance with the horses. The donkeys and goats were our personal favorite.

Amazing atmosphere and such a beautiful property! Waking up in the morning to goats, chickens, a donkey, and a pig freely grazing around the property was an unforgettable experience. Being able to play with them and pet them made the stay feel so peaceful and special. 10/10 would highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a unique and relaxing getaway!

First of all this was one of the best Hipcamps we used. Teresa has such an amazing place. We had our own camper but if you came with a tent you wouldn't need to bring much with you. She has everything you can think of to use. The bathrooms with hot showers and flush toilets are wonderful. The community kitchen is such a bonus and the fresh eggs were amazing.
It's a cool hip place to stay and Teresa is so friendly and helpful. She was amazing with my grandson, showed him how to play the meditation drums and got the pool ready for him to use.
We will definitely be back! It was a wonderful place to make memories

Orlando and the Lake Country

Explore the hiking and horseback riding trails around Lake Apopka, cool off swimming and kayaking at Wekiwa Springs State Park, or seek out a tranquil campsite in Seminole State Forest. Further north, Ocala National Forest has 12 developed campgrounds and miles of backcountry camping.
Florida Heartlands
Florida’s rural heartlands stretch north and west of Lake Okeechobee, the state’s largest freshwater lake. This is the spot to escape the crowds, whether parking your RV on a farmland Hipcamp, hiking and paddling the wetlands of Lake Kissimmee State Park, or fishing for bass on Lake Placid.
Atlantic Coast
Just a 40-minute drive from Orlando, the Canaveral National Seashore has some of the best backcountry camping along the Atlantic Coast, where you can boat or kayak to remote islands and pitch your tent right on the beach. Further north, there are plenty of RV parks and campgrounds between New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach, and Palm Coast, with easy access to the beaches, dunes, and lagoons.
Gulf Coast
Urban campers have plenty of options around Tampa, the gateway to Central Florida’s Gulf Coast. Pitch your tent by white-sand beaches at Fort de Soto Park or Cayo Costa State Park, go fishing and hiking at Little Manatee River State Park, or enjoy some of Florida’s only whitewater rafting at Hillsborough River State Park.
