Taste of Old Florida

97%
(1512)
48mi from Sebastian Inlet State Park · 13 sites · Tents, RVs · Palm City, FL
A small but unique piece of land that was given to a family in the 1920s by the Florida Railroad Company. It stayed in the family until we purchased it. It is unique because the surrounding area does not have much tree coverage. This is due to the ground underneath, which is a vein of grey marl. This is why the area is called the Allapattah (an Indian word for Alligator) Flats. We are hoping that our county stays the way it is so people will know what Old Florida really looks like. Minutes from I-95, but surrounded by the Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Preserve. Located on Martin Hwy, which was recently designated as a Florida Scenic Hwy. Fifteen minutes to Stuart and thirty minutes to West Palm Beach, a world away from the hustle and bustle. We realize that people also love Florida for Disney and tropical paradises but if that is what you want than this may not be your kind of place.

If you are a surfer ask about a personal tour of Gary’s Surf Barn and we will try to accommodate. While we are familiar with the joy of camping with children, we are an adult destination and an agricultural working farm and are not ideal for guests camping with children. We are a 36 acre working farm, as well as a well-known live music entertainment venue. The weekends can be busy, especially in season with our more popular events. If live music and other campers here are not a fit for you, we recommend visiting us on a weekday or off-season. But please know the camp sites are far from music stage, pavilion, and festival area, and the music is usually ONLY during the afternoons and over by 4pm, so the evenings are quiet. Many of our HH customers come back several times a year for our weekend entertainment. Since we are a working farm property, there may be farm activity early some mornings, usually weekdays. We want you to know all this when deciding if we are a good fit for you to visit

45mi from Sebastian Inlet State Park · 3 sites · RVs · Cocoa, FL
First site is a 12x32 concrete slab with city water and a 30-amp camper electric service. The second site (near the rear of the property) is a 10x14 concrete slab with city water and a household electric service of about 13 amps. No sewage facilities for both sites, must have black water holding tanks. Located on an acre with Grissom Pkwy in the back. Very near the restaurant "Jabbers". Great views of rocket launches, just a few miles from Publix, other shops and other restaurants. About a mile to the Indian River, about five miles to the Banana River (and Kelly Park for windsurfing or launching boats) about 12 miles to Port Canaveral and the beach at Jetty Park or better yet (my fav) Cherie Down Park. CDP is great for surfing, beach fishing, viewing rocket launches or just beach walking. While there please visit Port Canaveral's host of bars and restaurants. Also, about 25 miles to the Space Center. PLEASE! Best way onto property is go west on Canaveral Groves Blvd 1/2 mi. to Alan Sheppard, left and left again at 1st. street (Atlanta St.). Back the 1/2 mi. to Knoxville Ave where the trailer/camper entrance lines up directly with Atlanta St. GPS does NOT know if you are pulling a camper/trailer...LOL!

Rugged C's Ranch

(46)
29mi from Sebastian Inlet State Park · 4 sites · Tents, RVs · Fort Pierce, FL
We purchased our property in 2017 and longed for the dream to build a home. Well, we built that home. We are now ready to share our place where we find so much tranquility with others. You can see how the old orange groves worked as we haven't filled in all the furrows yet. The old orange Grove is now home to cattle, horses, goats, ducks, and our little family. Learn more about this land: Bring your RV away from the hustle and bustle of the city to the wide open spaces of the country. The only sounds you'll hear are cows mooing, goats baaing, and horses neighing. Sunsets and the stars are a site to see out here. THE PROPERTY: The owners live on the property with their 2 children and are willing to be helpful in anyway. Children are more than welcome to tag along. Being kid friendly is a plus for us as our kids might be running around enjoying their property. Can't forget dog friendly either. Our dogs love to greet our guests. NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: If beaches are on your agenda, South Causeway and Fort Pierce Inlet State Park are only 25 minutes from the beach! Our favorite place to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner is Carter's Grocery, which is only 4 minutes from our property. ACTIVITIES: We have chickens that lay eggs and are great for eating so if you'd like some fresh eggs, feel free to go over to their house and grab some. We have a Pavillion with a fire pit that is welcomed to be used. Our dock provides a look out on our pond. Please feed the fish some food if you'd like. Also, take time to fish in our pond and catch some tilapia or blue gill. The kids have a blast fishing as the fish are easy to catch. THE SPACE: The site you'll be staying at is close to the owners house. There are 2 parking spots on asphalt that are available for the campers vehicles or park directly at your site. The ground will be grass that the camper will park on. Please note: we have 2 gates with gate codes that shut automatically. Please be sure each gate closes behind you! We have free roaming cattle and other farm animals outside the camping area. We are always open to recommendations on how we can make your stay even better! We cant wait to share our property with you and hopefully you'll find our place as somewhere you'd love to return!

The best camping in Sebastian Inlet State Park, FL guide

Overview

About

Golden sands and misty seascapes stretch along the Atlantic Coast at Sebastian Inlet State Park, where surfers congregate to ride famous surf breaks like “First Peak” and “Monster Hole.” If you prefer tranquil paddling to crashing surf, the central Indian River Lagoon provides a scenic spot for boating and kayaking, along with snorkeling, scuba diving, and saltwater fishing. Don’t miss a visit to the McLarty Treasure Museum to admire treasure from an 18th-century Spanish shipwreck, then check into the Sebastian Inlet Campground, where the RV and tent sites all have full hookups, fire rings, and picnic benches.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. You can reserve one of 51 full-facility campsites at Sebastian Inlet State Campground via the Florida State Parks Reservation website.
  2. Sebastian Inlet campsite reservations can be made 11 months in advance for Florida residents, or 10 months in advance for non-residents.
  3. Campsites can book up fast, especially in peak season (April-September) and over holiday weekends, so book at least three months in advance.

When to go

Summer is peak season at Sebastian Inlet State Park, so arrive early to secure a parking spot and expect crowds along the beaches. Spring and late fall through winter are the best times for birding along the coast, when migratory shorebirds flock to the coast. If you’re visiting in June or July, this is the chance to spot loggerhead sea turtles nesting along the beach, but you’ll need to book a ranger-led tour to do so.

Know before you go
