At Heirloom Hamlet, you will see us designing unique, functional cottages, using solar energy, composting organics, sewing and reaping, in a way that is fair to our environment. We're bread baking, pasta making, timber milling, woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. The goal is to evolve into a small world of self-reliance and harmony with nature.
Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" slow, simple living can feel. We all have personal priorities, and those will vary greatly. But within that, we can all include ways of being respectfully mindful to the earth and to our neighbors.
Visiting with us, we sure hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to life here, that they can appreciate our perspectives and some of our old-fashioned ways. Our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a refreshing hideaway from the norm. You can imagine, it has been a ton of work, sacrifice and expense to create a very special camp atmosphere. I was the first person to purchase property here in 1995 in what is known as Moultrie Plantation. This is a private property community with its own private dirt road. The plantation is rich in Civil War history and people still find arrowhead 's, Civil war buttons and other Civil War related items on the dirt roads where the soldiers marched through the plantation. It is a quiet, peaceful neighborhood where owners enjoy the country life.

Don’t get too close to the pond, our resident alligator (Allen) is close to 9’ long! We also have active honeybee hives. Fireflies can be seen during the summer months. Bug spray is highly encouraged during warmer months.

Welcome to our page! Oak Grove Campsite is a beautiful, private campground near Savannah Ga. The campsite is nestled underneath one of our large oaks completed with plenty of room to roam around. Some of the features include a picnic table, large lighted firepit, hammock, wood swing, etc. We also have swings sets and a few other features for the kiddos.
Oak Grove Campsite is located approximately 30 min from downtown Savannah and 40 min from Tybee Island. The site has 30/50 amp and clean water hookups. We do not have sever hookups but here is a dump station located 15min from site.

This a very simple site for 1 or 2 self contained RV's. It has rural feel but less than 15 minute drive to downtown Beaufort or Parris Island or MCAS Beaufort. Located among live oaks and pines on a salt water tidal marsh. No amenities, just a pleasant and quiet parking area. It's flat but you might need some leveling depending on where you park.

Great spot, private but not too remote - we felt safe having homes nearby. The land for the sites is nice wooded pine and it was fun seeing the farm animals nearby! Instructions were super clear and we really appreciated having a toilet tent 😊 definitely recommend if you’re staying in the area - not much to do right around it, but a good home base for visiting Charleston, Savannah and Hilton Head.

A beautiful spot! Great location and friendly hosts. There were other campers but plenty of space for privacy. Porta potty’s were clean and easily accessible. Our dog was able to run around and even made friends with the hosts two pups!
Best part was waking up to all the birds singing from the tree tops! :)

We were traveling with our 5 year old son in our truck camper and our water system wasn’t working so we stayed at Curt’s place in a simple site with a picnic table and fire ring. The sites are all close to the restroom and shower so it wasn’t very convenient. There were some camper vans and folks staying in the cabins but it was very quiet. The outdoor shower was awesome and Curt and his family have done a great job of building everything from scratch. He met us at our site and showed us how to use everything. The birds were singing and we saw lots of stars that night! Thank you Curt and family!!

I camped with no hookups, so the availability of the composting toilet (one of the nicest installations i've ever used), sink and shower (hot and cold luxury!) was great! Really enjoyed my conversations with Curt. Would absolutely recommend! I'll be back in the fall!
