Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.

This 6.5 acre property is a great stopping place for a stay in nature. Tucked away in a quiet wooded area just off Highway 321, this private campsite is perfect for small campers, vans, and travelers passing through the Lowcountry. Enjoy a peaceful overnight stay surrounded by nature, just a short drive from Hilton Head and Savannah. *****You MUST pack in and pack out- leave no trace! ****** Self-contained set ups only. We are just getting started on caretaking the property, so there is no rest room, no water, no electric. Currently a nature preserve, with some cleared areas and a small trail development. This is a safe space to enjoy a break from travel, play with your dog, go for a walk, cook a meal, etc. We have started a trail going into the woods towards the infamous Black Swamp. You can also walk freely around the property, but no trespassing in the antiquated house or other farm remains. A place you can really connect with nature without being far from creature comforts or the traveling roads, this type of camping is not for everyone- so please understand it is Primitive Camping style, raw land with neighbors but distanced and protected by trees for serenity. Low to no road noise from HWY 321. Park in the open area or into the space under the trees…. Your dog(s) can be off leash. Only small, contained, portable fire stoves are allowed (like a solo stove) or butane/propane stove. Carry In-Carry Out for EVERYTHING We only allow one camper at a time currently, so you don’t have to share space with anyone else.Depending on your preference or camp set up and vehicle, you have the option of staying at the end of the long driveway, near the antiquated house OR turn right just before the house and park anywhere within the wooded area infront of the building. This site is about 2.5 acres deep into the 6.5 acres. Behind the home is still in need of clearing and cleaning up so it’s safe to walk (wear snake boots!) or follow along the trails we are working on, you can even go as far back to the Black Swamp. Please don’t mess with the house at all or attempt to enter it. This is dispersed camping and YOU MUST PACK IN AND PACK OUT. Do not litter, dump anything unnatural or harmful, be respectful and LEAVE NO TRACE. Only propane, butane and wood pellet stoves allowed. I will allow a small “solo stove” that is on a table or on a concrete block. (Provided in the woodsy camp site) NO FIRE PITS ALLOWED at this time.

Relaxing overnight

Jodi's description from the post was accurate. She communicated really well and we were so lucky to be able to stay on her property for a late night set up and early morning departure. The property was easy to find. The land was flat and we enjoyed a evening sitting in their wood chairs enjoying watching a thunderstorm in the distance, under a full moon, and listening to the oysters making "popping" sounds! The only downside was that it was a bit strange popping a squat in the front yard in an upscale neighborhood and our truck/shelter was within easy view of the road (as described in the listing). There was a big, open yard, since they have the land from an electrical easement. The trees were beautiful. It was the perfect stop for what we needed for the night and so close to downtown.

Hands down best hipcamp

I would rate my stay a 12/10 because Jodi was so awesome and her property was so safe and welcoming! Im a solo female traveler and felt very comfortable here. Nice woody spot in the front and you can also use her fire pit, chairs and hammock in the backyard and it overlooks the salt marsh, just soooo BEAUTIFUL!! Cant wait to visit again one day

Wish I stayed longer!

What a stunning stay! Jodi provided all of the information that I needed to show up right at sunset and comfortably set up before dark (particularly helpful as a solo female traveler). The entire property is quiet and secluded (it’s at the end of a dead end street) with a lot of beautiful tree cover. The backyard is quaint and welcoming, with chairs, a fire pit, and a hammock all looking over a beautiful span of marshlands (ask Jodi when the tides are high and low!). I also highly recommend you wake up to watch the sunrise, the colors were spectacular. Jodi was responsive before we arrived but left us (me and my pup) alone for the night. The next morning she offered a cup of coffee and we chatted about hiking options while our pups played. It was just so pleasant and I hope I can return again soon!

Lovely place in beautiful area!

Hosts are very gracious and welcoming. This is a short drive from Tybee Island and not too far from downtown Savannah. They have a wonderful back yard with a view of the lake and nothing but nature in that direction. The front yard is shaded very well with large beautiful trees all around. Feels like a park! They provided plenty of space for our small travel trailer to park and provided water hookup. They even put out a birthday greeting for my birthday! We wish we could have stayed here longer!
