The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

Great slice of paradise, climb in isn't for anyone with mobility issues, but able-bodied folks no problem but bring a tent if your staying the night, insects are big it's nature.. ants are unreal above the sink, not any within thankfully Clean with a single exception(sm PC overlooked debris), nicer than expected.. overall worth the novelty, notably cooler in sink, visited in the morning by turkeys, road noise is unnoticeable during the day, enough at night to want earplugs/ some other means of coping Crystal clear water, with small mosquito fish maybe? Definitely bigger/ deeper in person Water is spring cold

It is a neat place. The covered camping spot was nice. The dock was well built dock and felt safe. Water was very low but when it’s back to normal can see it being a fun place for kids to play and swim. Nice fire pit. We will definitely visit again

April greeted us shortly after we set up and sent us water sports options and directions to the best of the springs! It was a nice secluded spot. My husband saw deer in the morning and April's chicken greeted us, too! Port-a-pottie was clean, well kept and no smell! Everything you would need was there.

This site was great. My parents and I came here to kayak the Ichetucknee and Santa Fe River. I didn't get to meet William but his response time was super quick when I had questions. The site was as advertised. Everything was nice and clean. I would recommend bringing tick spray, especially in the spring but Florida does Florida things! You have to expect insects when camping. I will definitely book this site again! We had a great time making memories together!

1 night at Jewel’s Sink

Visited in August 2025. The sink is incredibly beautiful. The water is like a sapphire and you can see the light reflecting off the limestone. It was amazing to see such a natural sinkhole in today’s era of overdevelopment. Michael is a wonderful, accommodating host. You can tell that he takes pride in what he does. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience a piece of authentic old Florida.

5 nights at The Hatch Bend Hideaway RV Place

Capt.’s spot is just lovely. Super private, very peaceful with amazing sunset views! Perfect place to either paddle on the Suwannee River or a quick drive to lots of Springs! We did a few floats down Ichetucknee Springs about a 15min drive from Capt.’s place. He is a great host!

We had a great time at Bowman's Landing! The primitive camping was exactly what we wanted. Clean campsite, great view of the river, unexpected collection of amenities including a coffee maker at the host camp. Proximity to the springs was super convenient.

1 night at The Dood Ranch

We had a wonderful stay at this Hipcamp. The 10-acre property is primarily open field, which gives you plenty of options for pitching a tent or parking your rig with room to breathe. The “Dood” in the name refers to doodles (I missed that at first!), and they were friendly, well-behaved, and have their own large fenced area. They only barked briefly in greeting, at mealtime, or when alerting the host. The newer additions to the ranch—chickens and turkeys—were a fun bonus, and we especially loved the fresh eggs. The miniature goats were an absolute delight and added to the charm of the stay. This is a great place to stop over while traveling, especially if you’d like to explore the surrounding area and nearby springs. It felt comfortable, peaceful, and welcoming. Host Sandi was knowledgeable and kind. Coming from a healthcare background, she clearly understands caring about people and making sure guests have a good experience. She was also very interesting to talk with if you enjoy visiting with your hosts. Her son, who co-owns the property, was equally friendly—he showed us the farm animals, helped get us comfortably set up, and made sure we were hooked to power. Overall, a warm, enjoyable stay with genuine hosts and a memorable farm atmosphere.

Hammock camping? Is that even a question, cause if it is it’s definitely a yes! Just one of many fun and exciting features of this Sante Fe River-neighboring park just 30 miles north of Gainesville. The Sante Fe “disappearing” River, being another one of the park’s unique attractions. Connecting with River Rise Preserve State Park on the south, the two parks offer over 6,000 acres of sandhills, hardwood hammock, sinkholes and river swamps to frolic and explore! Bike, hike or horseback ride the 13 miles of trail that weave and wander throughout the park or swim, fish, canoe or kayak the scenic waters of the Sante Fe while keeping your eyes peeled for deer, squirrel, alligator, raccoon, turkey, gopher tortoise and other reptiles. There’s no limit to the adventures that are in store at this wild wonder!

Hey fellow hipcampers! If you have never been to O'Leno State Park before I have to recommend crossing the suspension bridge and taking the O'Leno Sink trail. Bring the cameras and be ready for picturesque river scenery and plenty of wildlife!
