Frank Page purchased the Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground in 2008 which included the original seven acres of the lower portion of the Rendezvous. At that time there were only a few buildings and the primitive campground area. Frank started cleaning the area and stabilizing all the buildings. In 2009 another 20 acres was purchased, which is now considered the upper area of the Rendezvous. In 2010, another seven acres were added to the property. Frank planned and constructed the Upper Rendezvous area which was completed in 2012 and added 136 RV sites as well as the dog park, barn and pigeon coop. The dog park has five sections, for both small and large dogs, with ample room to run. Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground Pool Frank began raising pigeons in 2012. The first pigeons purchased were homing pigeons, which started the Pigeon Races that are still a fun, family favorite event on Saturday afternoons. Frank also bought and started raising other pigeons, the Birmingham Roller. Birmingham Rollers are a very popular breed of domesticated pigeons that originated in Birmingham, England, where they were developed via selective breeding for their ability to do rapid backward somersaults while flying. You can often see them flying around the Upper Rendezvous in the mornings and afternoons. These pigeons are used for our weekly Pigeon Races.

We offer three Amish built log cabins at our RV Campground. Fisherman and Hunter's Cabin has a one bedroom with queen size bed and a set of bunk beds in the living area. They sleep up to four people. Two burner stove top, full size microwave and refrigerator. Full size bathroom with large walk-in shower. The Gator Hut offers a queen bed with a bunk bed over and sleeps up to three people. All the cabins are fully furnished with towels and linens as well as dishes, cooking utensils and coffee pot, smart TV with cable tv and Wi-Fi is included. The Campground is fenced and gated and we are pet friendly. There is a laundry facility on site for the guests. There is a fire pit if you want to relax. In the summer we have a stock tank pool (opens in April) to cool off after a long day on the water. Steinhatchee is located in Taylor County Florida along the Gulf of America. Inshore and offshore fishing is year-round. Scallop season is June 15 to Labor Day. More than 20 springs are located within 45 minutes of Steinhatchee. Too numerous to count are the Florida Wildlife Management areas that are accessible by car and allow for bird watching and animal siting of deer and wild boar. Steinhatchee River is a kayaking, fishing and paddle boarding experience. The local restaurants/Marinas are within five minutes of the campground. Live music is available at the restaurants.

In the meantime a portable toilet is provided.  A potable water station is available and built from re-purposed materials and wood harvested locally. We are a working farm. We supply every Lucky's Market location with fresh turmeric and a host of stores with our blueberries. We also have an active u-pick program during the blueberry and peach harvests (late March to early June) that is available to Hip Campers. There are multiple springs within 30 miles in various directions - some of them of First Magnitude volume. We tried to book a last minute springs trip with our family. We fell upon Oaken River because the state parks were full. I am soooo glad of that. Oaken River is such a gem. It is so well taken care of and loved. The owners showed up around the campground, made sure we had everything we needed and truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. After seeing all of the potential camping site that Oaken River will have in the near future we will surely be back and bring our whole family. What a beautiful weekend with great hosts! We have had a wonderful time camping here. The new owner proudly showed us all his new projects for this beautiful unique spot on the Suwannee River. He and his wife are creatively adding glamping sites and cottage. The RV sites and tent sites are sheltered by beautiful oaks. The property has several ancient oak trees and the beach on the river is one of a kind. The farm animals are a cool bonus. We will be back. Stephanie, Andre and family were very kind and hospitable.

We had a great time! Firewood was pricey springs we found a spot offsite to get some, but we were absolutely wowed by the comfort station and bathrooms. Two well-lit restrooms with hot-water showers impressed us, but the coffee maker and icy pops for the kids, along with a book and game lending library were beyond our expectations. The sites were well maintained and the operators (please forgive that I forgot names) were personable and helpful. The chickens walking around were a nice bonus, too. Oh! Bring tick repellant and tick removers. That's standard op for campers, but definitely don't forget them. The chickens can't eat them all, though they did a great job trying. :)

We stayed on the Primitive tent site number 2 right next to the Santa Fe River and it was amazing for fishing and dipping our feet in if we got too hot. Highly recommend Bowmans Landing!

Had an amazing time at Bowman’s. The host met me at my site shortly after my arrival to tell me about all of the amenities. I stayed at campsite 2 which is primitive camping. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the Santa Fe River was less than a stone’s throw away from my campsite. I was able to launch my kayak rather closely from my site as well. The camp features a hiking trail, showers/restroom, a coffee stand, group fire pits and more. I highly recommend this camp for anyone doing primitive camping.
