This place was amazing. Super friendly vibes, made me feel like family. I'm a Florida Trail thru-hiker, I was out hiking through a heavy rainstorm and called ahead to book myself a cottage to get out of the rain and dry off. When I got to the St Marks River, John came out in his fishing boat and picked me up, made sure I had everything I needed from town, and then shared some of his fresh caught and cooked up redfish on the halfshell when we got in, which was totally delicious and seasoned just right. The cottage was great, plenty of space to call home for a day, mini fridge, high powered space heater, two AC window units, and a hot shower, everything a soaking wet dirty hiker could ask for. Plus a nice view of the water right out the front door. And yeah beyond all that, everybody working here is friendly and caring. Thanks again for making me feel like family! I'll never forget this experience.

You know, this is the second time that I have stayed here if you are looking for more, the outdoor look.
And to get a little bit more clean air.
Then this is the place you could not ask for a better place. The people are great. It's just a great environment. I highly recommend it

There is so much this little gem has to offer. We have been staying at the fish camp for over 15 years. When we first started staying there it was exact that a fish camp, but with LOTS of amazing character. The new owners have taken that character, and built open it. I can’t wait to see what improvements are done next. This is one of our favorite places to be.

This place is a piece of heaven on earth.
They are some of the most amazing host. They welcome you with open arms. Great place to stay and an amazing place to fish. They have events frequently. Bait shop and all. I highly recommend go and reserve your room and if you don’t have a boat that is fine they have charters and much more. Don’t miss out on this amazing chance.

We had the pleasure of staying for a few days, for the first time around the 1st of August. I've stayed at a few fish camps in my time, and Shell Island did not disappoint. In fact, it might of been a little to nice to be called a "fish camp". I mean, they had enough parts in the store to build a boat just about. The docks were well maintained and not falling apart, they even gave us advice on where to fish and scallop. The cabins were well stocked and the shower had good water pressure. Only complaint i can really muster up is we didn't get to spend a little more time with the owners because they were busy making even more improvements to the place. You can definitely tell they care about their place and their customers. If you want the Concierge Service to take your cooler from your room to the boat for you and make sure it's full of drinks and snacks, this probably isn't the place for you. If you want a nice family atmosphere to stage your family adventures from, go check em out.

Very nice RV parking with lots of really nice campers. People stick together around here so you will feel very safe when staying here. The people that run this place are very nice and helpful.

Woody and I had such an awesome vacation. We stayed at Shell Island Fish Camp, and what a great place. I can’t say enough good things about the staff there. First, of all the ladies in the store were so friendly. The service was awesome. Matt and Tony did everything they could to make our stay as good as possible. Hayden was running around like crazy, but he still stopped to say hello and acknowledge us as we walked by. The kindness, hospitality, and customer service from the whole staff made our trip a memorable one. I can’t thank them enough.

Spent 3 nights in RV Park - Shell Island Fish Camp - Sept 25-27, 2025. RV Park was very comfortable - spacious lots and full hook up (w/sewer) - really good experience (photo is of our RV w/ boat trailer in Shell Island RV Park) If you are looking for resort type accommodations with a pool and kid's park, etc., Shell Island is likely not for you. However, if you are looking for a good place to park an RV (or rent a cabin) and do some fishing - it is just great - pricing is good, accommodations are good and I understand that the new owner is working on better shower facilities and an overall upgrading of the facilities etc. The staff are the nicest folks you would ever meet - from the manager to the folks in the marina store to the guys helping with ice and bait and boat issues. We found it very easy to fish out of their marina and had no issues with parking to boat there overnight. We will certainly be back to St Mark's, FL in the near future and we will be staying at Shell Island Fish Camp. Jeff Curry and Eddie Russell, Ringgold, GA

Flordia trail hiker friendly. I spent two nights in 118 during a storm passing through the area. Location was easy to find, in the dark.
The staff here are great. From calling in and making reservations for a late arrival, to answering all my silly questions and requests. Thank you Tracy for helping me even AFTER I checked out and left.
The black cat let me hold him 😸
They had a party and a food truck while I was there too :) cool people here
