We loved the farm and everything about the property! The private lake is one of the best views you could get, and every animal is the most friendly!

What was supposed to be a quiet birthday getaway became emotionally exhausting and stressful. I shortened my stay because I simply no longer felt comfortable or safe remaining there. I lost money I truly could not afford to lose, including money spent planning a rare vacation for myself. Although a refund of 36 was provided today I spent 146+46. I purchased two bars of soap, which I did not receive; it did not change the fact that the experience itself was extremely disappointing. I also choose not to return for the goat yoga event I had paid 50.00 for as I no longer feel confident or comfortable returning to the property at all. I want to be very clear that I am not writing this review out of cruelty, revenge, or anger toward the owner personally. I believe she cares deeply about her animals and may genuinely want to create a place to learn about goats and mini farming and a mini retreat. The idea has potential. But at this time, I do not feel the property is accurately represented online, nor do I feel it is adequately maintained or properly prepared for paying guests seeking a safe and relaxing stay Nor safe. Future guests, especially those traveling alone, with pets, or expecting a calm retreat experience, should know that the actual conditions may be very different from the online presentation. Had the listing been more realistic and transparent, I would likely have chosen differently and avoided what became a very regrettable experience for my birthday weekend

I want to be very clear that I am not writing this review out of revenge, or anger toward the owner personally. I believe she cares about her animals and may genuinely want to create a place to learn about her animals, mini farming and a mini retreat. I donot feel the property is accurately represented online, nor do I feel it is adequately maintained or properly prepared for paying guests seeking a safe and relaxing stay even rustic. Future guests, especially those traveling alone, with pets, or expecting a calm retreat experience, should know that the actual conditions may be very different from the online presentation. Had the listing been more realistic and transparent, I would likely have chosen differently and avoided what became a very regrettable experience for my birthday weekend. I paid $148.51 the 1st night ; 2 ND 43.33. Then I paid $25 times 2 which is 50 for the goat yoga which is every other weekend. I bought 2 goat milk soaps ,1 loaf sourdough bread , one pack of biscuits to give Support. The owner refunded my account today $36.75 as I only stayed one night. I got there at 7:30 PM Friday night and left Saturday am Early, after another altercation with her dog who was not on a leash or contained but my dog was. I assume she needs money to run this mini farm, ;currently it is not safe for future paying customers. It’s overgrown ,buckets of water harboring mosquitoes and a gazebo that has rotted flooring,common area’s deplorable, no hot water. I took photos

Awesome Getaway

Great place to retreat and relax!! The cabin had just enough room for the three of us. The amenities were good, although it could use a stronger AC. Also, another bedside lamp could improve the lighting for reading. The goats were a delight, and Toby the protection dog was a real sweetheart. The chickens reminded me of when we had our own. Overall, great place to stay for a getaway.

One of the best and most unique places you can stay! If you are ever in the area or need a fun place to stay, we would recommend the chicken coop for budget friendly options and the cottage if youre needing more room! The chicken coop was perfect for us though!

Lovely stay with the goats

Lovely stay in the coop! The bed was SO comfortable, the goats, chickens and Toby (dog) were so cute, we had a lovely time overall. Will note the compost toilet was very full and wet, not for the faint of heart. As someone who has used many a compost toilet, i found this one tough! I think more substrate was needed. We ended up using the dollar general bathroom that was 10ish mins away. Regardless, highly recommend staying here, lovely and relaxing atmosphere very close to all Tallahassee has to offer. Also make sure to bring coal for the camp grill!

On Goat House Farm

This charming, rural enclave provides gentle fauna and flora surrounding the site. Due to my ignorance and unfamiliarity, the shower experience was satisfactory but inefficient [Lewis and Clark only dreamed of such luxurious accommodations]. The host and her guests treated us warmly and friendly. Old-growth hardwoods and Spanish Moss abounded. Tory, the guard-dog had the demeanor of a Galapagos tortoise. The 37-some-odd goats generally stayed inside their fence and behaved themselves. Orange trees supplied fresh oranges. Roosters abounded. Sand abounded. Our stay was delightful; all one could hope for on a wilderness adventure. Having electricity was fantastic for a fantastic trip.

A Happy Little Accident

I mostly wing it when I travel. I am often attempting to make same day reservations. I have the good fortune to be blessed by the unviverse in finding the most delightful places. The Goat House Farm is one of these places. It's a bit of tranquility among the crazy. The goats are so soo cute! They are very entertaining to watch. They are well kept and are nice goats. The chickens there are also beautiful and pretty quiet as chickens go. I went there as just a tent stay overnight. We were offered a little structure known as 'The Coop' free of any additional charge. She was sooo gracious about it and insisted on helping us out. The coop was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. There was an outdoor patio with 2 chsirs and a table. There was a rustic bathroom with a composting toilet and a shower on property. Her property also borders a state park with a lake. Just sitting near the water was balm to my soul. There is a hill down to the water. There was a group there as well. and I struck up a conversation with a woman in that group to find out she was from Tallahassee. She was there enjoying a weekend get away for peace and tranquility. I do have a regret though, I wish I could have gotten a loaf of her bread but there was no lead time for her to bake it because of my last minute reservation. I highly recommend staying there. Other Notes: 1. TMobile had 5G 4Bars 2. The road is a sandy road. I have low profile tires on my car and navigated it easily.

Cute and cozy

The coop was a perfect little size for a solo traveler. I stayed on a cold night and it was warm and cozy. There’s a little trail close to the coop that goes down the hillside to the lake. The goats were so cute! I walked back for just a little and they were all so funny and friendly. I enjoyed my over night stay and felt very safe but secluded when I wanted to be.

Very rustic camping option

The property location and goat education is worth way more than the stay price. The coop was a good place to say you are camping without having to drag your own tent out. There are the bare necessities that are better than roughing it. You have a plug, bed, space heater, window a/c, screened windows, and small table. The woods right next to the property have state forest trails and the lake.

We had the absolute best time! All of the animals were very friendly and the Coop was adorable and perfect for us. It’s right by where you park your car and right by the bathroom/shower. The A/C works great and the bed and bedding was so comfy that we didn’t want to get up! The common room and fire pit area were gray also. There are barbecue grills to use and places to sit outside as well as a microwave, coffee area, TV with an Xbox and couches to lounge on. The property is right on the lake with plenty of woods to explore. I wished we lived closer so we could volunteer, I really can’t say enough about it and loved this experience so much!

Farm yard friends.

Gray farm and lived the goats and their protector Tahoe. A great playmate for our pup Bailey after a long car ride. The Coop was quaint and quiet. Felt very safe with Tahoe on night duty. We loved our cinnamon sourdough loaf and soap! Roosters crowed in the morning- not the best at telling time 😊but sweet nevertheless. All the animals were friendly. Got to see several newborn goats!

I want to start by saying my room was very lovely. It was very small, but it had air-conditioning and a heater as well as an electric light. The bed was super comfy, and the sheets were really nice. Unfortunately, the rest of my trip was not as excellent. I never received the host telephone number and when I arrived, even though I had sent a message saying I was there she acted like I should’ve called her. She never explained anything about the property and I never managed to have water the whole night. I also discovered that the electric light worked in my room about three hours after I’d been using my lantern. I only noticed because I moved a pillow. It would’ve been nice to be told about the light and water when I checked in. Be sure to ask, even if it seems the host is stressed which was the general vibe I got from her. Even so, the goats, Toby, the big farm dog, and the location make this a great spot to stay.

Enjoyed seeing all of the goats! The hostess was friendly and welcoming. She accommodated my requests, and offered me lots of peace and quiet. A rustic property in a pretty rural setting...just "What the Dr ordered!" I met another guest who was so friendly, and inviting. I enjoyed the comfortable space in the Workshop, set aside for reading, with comfortable couches, good lighting, and warmth... especially since I was traveling in very cold temps. The view of the nearby lake was so pretty

I loved tent camping here! I have been here once before and wanted to come visit again—especially since it is in such a great area. The ammenities (bathroom, potable water, and commons room) make it all a little more comfortable without necessarily taking away from the beauty of being in nature. The farm animals are almost always very gentle and sweet, and the farm dog Toby was super loving and protective. The Goat House Farm were very sweet to all of us and answered any questions we had.

We had a great time at the Goat house Farm. I have a Tacoma with a Roof top tent and it was the perfect spot for that. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. All the animals were sweet and well behaved. We will definitely be back with some friends next time!

The Goat House Farm provided the perfect yet affordable getaway for my partner and I. The farm consisted of friendly goats, adorable chickens, and a dog named Tobi that made us feel right at home. The location of the farm was great, as we were able to go to various springs and state parks during our 2-night stay. The cabin included all the necessities and was comfortable. The host, Melissa, was very sweet and welcoming. It was a short hike to the lake that provided even more beautiful scenery. We quickly made friends with the orange cat that hung out outside the cabin, played fetch with Tobi, kicked our legs up outside, and made the most of our ideal summer evenings on the farm.

The cottage

This place was a nice little goat farm. It was a little more over run than pictures suggested but it was cool and the host was very nice. Hipcamp overbooked us but luckily a different cabin was open and the host was nice enough to allow us to use it even though it was an upgrade. We got to bottle feed a couple of the goats and wonder around among them. The dog, was also extremely friendly and fun to play with. There were a few kayaks by the water down a little path that I believe we could have used but never got the chance. The drive in wasn’t terrible, I drive a dodge challenger and made it no problem.

For a truly unforgettable experience, move the review over to the Goat House Farm! It’s rustic, it’s quirky, and if you’ve ever dreamed of hanging out with goats all day—this is the place. Seriously, if you love goats, this might just be the greatest thing ever. A quick tip: bring hiking boots, Crocs, or any shoes that can be easily washed. You’ll be around a lot of goats, and let’s just say… you don’t want to be wearing your nicest sneakers. If you’re planning to stay the night, we stayed in an RV and were able to plug in—super easy and surprisingly comfy. All in all, it’s fun, it’s rustic, it’s a goat-lover’s paradise!
