We had an awesome time here! Close to Blue Springs State Park where you can enjoy the beautiful spring and rent kayaks. Down a cool secluded drive.

All details are listed perfectly. It really is a piece of land on someone’s property. Secluded, quiet, open sky, and nature. Which is exactly what camping should be.

Really lovely host, ideal location, but I couldn’t stay the night because of these horrible things called sand spurs. They’re some sort of plant that sheds seed pods/burrs (maybe?) from hell if you’re walking around barefoot or on four paws. My pups (who have weathered paws) were so worried the moment they got out of the car. They didn’t want to walk anywhere because the spurs were immediately a problem. I tried to relocate us to other less painful parts of the site but I couldn’t find one. All that said, if you have a pair of good shoes, a thick tarp to protect you and your tent, and no furry companions (unless they don’t mind wearing good shoes in warm Florida) then this is a great campsite. The host- John- is really cool and do nice. He’s trying to remove the wretched sand spurs so this review will hopefully become irrelevant sooner rather than later.

Exactly what we expected and more. Yes it is just a piece of cleared out land but at least it’s cleared, a safe space, and you can make it into anything you want. It’s in the perfect location less than a 5 minute drive to both Ginnie and Blue Springs and other cool springs, state parks and attractions. Firewood is sold at almost every neighbor so easy to obtain and Ice right as you enter town. I didn’t like having to take the trash with me but that was the smallest and only issue.

Camp was as described.
Upon arrival I met John.
being I camp out of my truck- I was able to park in the shade/alongside the road.
Directions were easy to follow.
John replied to any texting/questions.
AT&T signal: 1 bar 5g, was able to stream/download (using minimal bandwidth).
Solo female traveler; I felt safe here.
Had a good nights rest prior to getting back on the road.

We enjoyed camping on John’s property. John was very good about getting back to me with any questions. As others have said property is spacious, out in the open but private at the same time. All the other properties around have trees so you feel secluded. There are a lot of stickers(sand spurs). So if you have pets or small children something to think about. Wasn’t a huge deal for us. And seeing the stars at night was awesome. Would recommend bringing an umbrella or shelter for shade. The sun gets hot during the day. Only complaint was owner had company out on the tent site to lay cable line during our stay. This was disappointing as we were enjoying the quiet and being away in nature. Otherwise site was as advertised!

This is an excellent low key, peaceful site and John is an excellent host! He checked in on me every day, and is super knowledgeable about the area. If you are looking for a quiet site with zero light pollution and In close proximity to 3 rivers and tons of springs - this is it! I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!
Do bring a sun cover or pop-up tent for some shade!

This is a great location to access the beautiful State Parks in the area. It was so peaceful staying on John’s land. The spot we parked on, along the driveway, was level and we had great views of the sunsets and dark night skies. We would stay here again.

My pups and I thoroughly enjoyed staying on John's property over the weekend. John was a perfect host; friendly and knowledgeable of the area, kept the line of communication open while we were there yet respected our space and privacy throughout. The site itself is spacious and private, there is only 1 campsite available meaning you will have the entire place to yourself! The property is home to several gopher tortoise so you cannot drive up to it directly, just park along the perimeter and set up in the center. This is a PRIMITIVE campsite - you do NOT have access to water, bathrooms, or electricity. Being an open field, there is NO shade during the day. This allows for phenomenal night sky views, especially with no light pollution! This was literally one of the best stargazing experiences I've had. We cannot wait to be back!
