This space was incredible and you have to experience it for yourself! It's private and perfectly positioned between 2 national parks (Biscayne and Everglades) and the hosts are so kind and laid back. The whole property is fascinating, with exotic fruit trees, beautiful lights at night, and wild Peakcocks, but there's also a casual energy to the host's style that makes you feel at peace, even though you're a stone's throw from huge metropolitan areas. Joe came over and made my quiet senior doggo feel loved and my big loud doggo feel welcome.
The site was safe and private and Joe was super friendly. The dwarf bananas he had were the most delicious things! He even gave us advice on how to cook them (they were delicious raw as well).
Lord willing, we'll be back to enjoy this gorgeous property again.

Jack is a polite host with a beautiful property and we enjoyed our stay. There's no "good and bad" in this review, but there is "great" and "less than great".
The great: Anyone that has stayed in the Keys knows that space is tight -- it's hard to find a private section of beach (and there's a dock!) while camping in an RV. The property itself is gorgeous, well maintained, and the sunsets are more beautiful than any photo. There's an abundance of sea life and sponges in the waters around the docs, which were just a short walk from the site. Jack kindly allowed us to use our Starlink on the doc and work from the ample, comfy furniture he supplies along the bay beach. We also enjoyed his list of recommendations -- the Fish House and Key Largo Fisheries were our favorites. For snorkle tours, check out Silent World -- it was a trip highlight.
The less-than-great: 1- If you have a bigger rig and are a novice or intermediate operator, coordinate with the host -- they will help! My advice (I have a 28ft toy hauler): don't pull through the gates, back your rig from the road down the driveway into your spot. 2-The rules for dogs on the property are strict, but fair. There are 3 camp sites very close to each other, an air bnb, and a dry camp site on the beach that necessitate the host rules. I do not enjoy campgrounds and this property is not that, but there are a lot of people staying in close proximity at any given time.

We had a great stay at Jose and Eileen’s Hipcamp in Miami. They were incredibly warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, which really set the tone for a relaxing visit. Jose went out of his way to suggest local restaurants and spots to check out, and his recommendations truly helped make our stay memorable. The whole experience felt easy and comfortable, and we’d definitely recommend staying here to anyone visiting the area.

We had a great stay in Loida and Alex's camper! The location was perfect for us -- just 10 minutes from the entrance to Everglades NP but also close to town, making it easy to pick up groceries. The camper was cozy, spotless, and well-stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The property was quiet with a lot of privacy, but it was nice having the hosts around in case we had any issues. Overall, a great way to end our trip to South Florida!

This property is in a suburban setting, close to shopping, restaurants and is central to many Miami attractions (within 45 minutes to most things). There is no real privacy or ambiance, but it was clean and all the utilities listed seemed to be in good working order. The host was attentive and had a relative on site as proxy as they were out of town at the time of our booking. The site is screened from the street behind a solid metal gate which adds to the feeling of security.

About
Set sail to explore a scenic slice of the Florida Keys, where much of the fun is found on–and under–the water. Biscayne National Park preserves Biscayne Bay and several islands. Explore the underwater wonders of the Florida Reef and the Maritime Heritage Trail. Go snorkeling amid the ruins of a shipwreck, catch your own lobster, or canoe through a lagoon to observe marine life. Two campgrounds are located on islands accessible by boat, with campsites for tent camping only. RVers and campers seeking more amenities may enjoy camping at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, Everglades National Park, or private RV parks and glamping rentals in the Homestead, Florida, region.
Notable campgrounds
- Best for amenities: Elliott Key Campground offers restrooms with sinks and cold water showers. Drinking water is also available (though campers should bring a backup water supply).
- Best scenery: Boca Chica Key Campground is on the park’s most popular island.
- Best for RVers: John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park offers tent and RV sites with full hookups.
- Best for national park lovers: Combine your trip to Biscayne with a visit to Everglades National Park, where Long Pine Key Campground offers dry camping and Flamingo Campground has partial hookups.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- Both campgrounds in Biscayne National Park are first-come-first-served.
- Download the Recreation.gov app before arriving at Biscayne National Park. Campsite payments may be made on the app.
- You may book a dock site for a boat along with a campsite.
- Reservations for John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park open 11 months in advance.
- Reservations for the Everglades National Park campgrounds are recommended for the busier months of December through April. Reservations are made through a concessionaire online and by phone.
When to go
No matter when you visit, you are likely to find sunny skies at this subtropical paradise. Summer brings on the heat and humidity, with highs in the 80s and 90s and afternoon thunderstorms. June, August, and September tend to be the rainiest months. Insects may be abundant, especially during the summer. The rest of the year isn’t significantly cooler, as daytime temperatures are generally in the 70s through spring, fall, and even winter. You won’t find freezing temperatures or snow here, either. No matter when you visit, bring sun protection.
Know before you go
- Visiting any part of the park beyond the visitor center requires a boat. Guided tours depart from the visitor center.
- The Biscayne National Park Institute offers a variety of eco-adventures and guided tours.
- Hiking trails and open exploration may be enjoyed on the various islands. Elliott Key is the most developed, with restrooms and more.

Plan ahead
Be sure and book the boat ride or snorkel trips to the island. They book up fast and there is only a mile trail to walk on from the Dante Fascell visitor’s center.

Definitely splurge for one of the longer paddle or snorkel trips. I went on the Jones Lagoon SUP/Kayak tour with Pablo and it was magical!

We loved our time at Biscayne NP. We went on an interesting walk which was led by a park volunteer, watched many of the videos and loved the exhibits. The history of the park, especially Stiltsville and the Spite Highway are fascinating. The only thing that would have been better, would have been to do a guided kayak or snorkel tour, but unfortunately, I thought to do that too late. Learn from my experience and book early

Yes the Dante Facell Vicitor Center at Convey Point had a nice boardwalk and fishing is allowed . The visitors center offered several movies about the area and its history. But Biscayne National Park is mostly water…. We took the boat ride to Boca Chita Key . The narration about the history, marine life and conservation was very interesting and informative. We were able to explore the lil key on our own .

This park needs planning, but it might give you the best experience of your trip. Book a snorkel tour! We went in March and were thankful we got short wetsuits, some people in the group didn't have them and were OK.

We only had a short time to enjoy Biscayne before the government shutdown and wish we could have had more time. It's a beautiful park and the staff who run the tours are excellent.

Take the ferry ride out Boca Chica Key
If you find yourself in Miami making your way down to visit the Everglades be sure to swing by Biscayne and catch the ferry shuttle out to Boca Chica Key. Fun little half day adventure.
