Taste of Old Florida

12 sites · RVs, Tents10 acres · Palm City, Martin
A small but unique piece of land that was given to a family in the 1920s by the Florida Railroad Company. It stayed in the family until we purchased it. It is unique because the surrounding area does not have much tree coverage. This is due to the ground underneath, which is a vein of grey marl. This is why the area is called the Allapattah (an Indian word for Alligator) Flats. We are hoping that our county stays the way it is so people will know what Old Florida really looks like. Minutes from I-95, but surrounded by the Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Preserve. Located on Martin Hwy, which was recently designated as a Florida Scenic Hwy. Fifteen minutes to Stuart and thirty minutes to West Palm Beach, a world away from the hustle and bustle. We realize that people also love Florida for Disney and tropical paradises but if that is what you want than this may not be your kind of place.

Circle C Farm ArgiCamping™ RV Park

10 sites · RVs184 acres · Immokalee, Hendry
Circle C Farm ArgiCamping™ RV & Motor Coach Farm Park Welcome to Circle C Farm, Your home away from home! Our Rustically Primitive On-Farm RV & Motor Coach Park awaits You Boondocking / Dry Camping on Florida’s First & Only 100% Vertically Integrated Farm Our Peaceful Pastures will feed and nourish Your Body, Mind and Soul • Your Body will relax and take in the sights, sounds and smells of our farm from sunrise to sunset and even in the dark under the stars and moon light. • Your Mind will exhale all that has been overwhelming you, giving you an opportunity for finding your center, that balance you have been longing. • Your Soul will connect with the Earth around you in ways you never thought possible. Experience what it is like to … • Wake up in the mist of the morning with the cows and calves around you. • Where the sheep and baby lambs are nursing and taking naps. • Where the pigs run wild in the morning and evening sunlight. • Where the chickens and ducks waddle through the fencing, scratching and pecking for bugs and flowers throughout the pastures as they graze. • Watch and listen as the donkeys try and get your attention every chance they get. • Oh, and our livestock guardian dogs spend the days sleeping and the nights working diligently to protect all that you have spent the day enjoying and appreciating. AgriCamping™ Area… We have an open pasture area awaiting your arrival. This area is an open pasture that we use for pasture rotation and have opened up just for you. This is an improved pasture, so what that means is that when you get here, we have multiple sites to choose from. The area doesn’t have trees in it, so moving about or opening sliders and awnings can be done without anything in your way. The views of the rest of the farm, pastures and across the pastures is not obstructed and you will be able to see all the amazing sunrises and sunsets we have here in South Florida. Along with all the animals as they graze throughout their pasture rotation process. As for privacy... You can choose your location when you get here in the area that we have open and can make yourself at home there. If you are traveling with multiple RVs/Motor coaches together, then you can be close or not so close, whatever works for you. We get great breezes and often wind GUSTS throughout the day, so if you open your awnings, please make sure that you are aware of the wind. We have an Old Working Cattle Pen that is really neat and makes for great pictures and is super cool to check out! Our pastures smell like real grass (not like the stuff in town on concrete) and the livestock reminds you that there really are few things in this world that ‘have to be.’ Just watching them helps bring balance and perspective, if you are looking for that and if you are not; well, then you might just find something else that you didn’t know that you needed, but you did. Quiet enjoyment… Our farm is one that is low key and in constant motion, so while you are here, please enjoy the natural surroundings, peace and tranquility like we do. We are in an agriculture rich area/community and you will get to see the packing house that is located on our south side and the grinding facility in which they make Tiki Huts from the trees is located on our north side, both of which are operational during the work day/week. It’s not ‘loud’ but they are there, and we are here, so we want you to know that. You will also get to see the orange trucks moving about on SR 29 is the early morning. None of these are over the top, but worth a mention, as we are in the heart of AG country and our region feeds a great deal of the USA from right here from Hendry County Florida. If you want to enjoy music or entertainment, as we ask if that you keep it within your space so that others are able to enjoy their space and we have enough room for everyone, so that should be no problem at all. Farm Rules… Bio-Security, Farm and Food Security are of CRITICAL Importance for ALL of Us, so thank you in advance for being part of our Farm Bio-Security Team and contributing to our collective food safety and the serenity of the farm by … • Remaining in marked camping areas at all times. Camping near Key Largo guide

Fringed by lush tropical forests, sandy beaches, and a kaleidoscope of coral reefs, Key Largo is Mother Nature’s gift to the Florida Keys. A short hop from the mainland and just an hour’s drive from Miami, the first of the Keys is ground zero for snorkelers and scuba divers, and the gateway to the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical State Park. Campers have everything from 4-star RV resorts and glampsites to rustic coastal campgrounds at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. All you need now is a Rum Runner cocktail and a slice of Key Lime pie.

Where to Go

Upper & Middle Keys

The 113-mile-long Overseas Highway stretches west from Key Largo, and it’s a road trip like no other, passing 42 bridges and linking 800 islands. Campgrounds are easily found in the Upper and Middle Keys, where you can go boating and fishing around the six islands of Islamorada, take a hike in Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park, then cross the Seven Mile Bridge to Marathon. Curry Hammock State Park and Long Key State Park both have tent and RV camping away from the crowds.

Lower Keys

Wildlife refuges and marine sanctuaries await in the Lower Keys, and these tranquil islands provide plenty of options for campers, from seaside cottages and glampsites to ocean-view RV campgrounds. Don’t miss the wild beaches and bays of Bahia Honda State Park, a hotspot for snorkeling and stand-up paddleboarding, and the National Key Deer Refuge at Big Pine Key.

Key West & Dry Tortuga

With its eclectic architecture, colorful conch houses, and historic monuments—most famously the homes of Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams—Key West is the coolest camping spot in the Keys. Once you’ve watched the sunset from Mallory Square, dined at one of the restaurants along Duval Street, and tried out the latest adrenaline-fuelled water sports, hop on a ferry or seaplane for an island camping getaway at Dry Tortugas National Park.

Everglades National Park

Just a short drive from Key Largo, the Everglades National Park has more than 600,000 hectares of UNESCO-protected landscapes, where you can cruise through the wetlands, kayak around the marshes, and spot alligators, manatees, and wading birds. Explore on a day trip or stay the night at one of the park’s two campgrounds.

When to Go

Year-round sunshine and warm waters make Key Largo a hotspot for winter sun, and December through March is peak season. High prices and big crowds are expected at this time, so book ahead, but it’s also the liveliest time to visit, with festivals such as the Key Largo Boat Parade. Camping is possible through summer, but high humidity, temperatures over 90°F, and hurricane season (June-November) can temper travel plans.

Hipcamp is created with ❤️ and hope for our future.
