This space was incredible and you have to experience it for yourself! It's private and perfectly positioned between 2 national parks (Biscayne and Everglades) and the hosts are so kind and laid back. The whole property is fascinating, with exotic fruit trees, beautiful lights at night, and wild Peakcocks, but there's also a casual energy to the host's style that makes you feel at peace, even though you're a stone's throw from huge metropolitan areas. Joe came over and made my quiet senior doggo feel loved and my big loud doggo feel welcome.
The site was safe and private and Joe was super friendly. The dwarf bananas he had were the most delicious things! He even gave us advice on how to cook them (they were delicious raw as well).
Lord willing, we'll be back to enjoy this gorgeous property again.

Jack is a polite host with a beautiful property and we enjoyed our stay. There's no "good and bad" in this review, but there is "great" and "less than great".
The great: Anyone that has stayed in the Keys knows that space is tight -- it's hard to find a private section of beach (and there's a dock!) while camping in an RV. The property itself is gorgeous, well maintained, and the sunsets are more beautiful than any photo. There's an abundance of sea life and sponges in the waters around the docs, which were just a short walk from the site. Jack kindly allowed us to use our Starlink on the doc and work from the ample, comfy furniture he supplies along the bay beach. We also enjoyed his list of recommendations -- the Fish House and Key Largo Fisheries were our favorites. For snorkle tours, check out Silent World -- it was a trip highlight.
The less-than-great: 1- If you have a bigger rig and are a novice or intermediate operator, coordinate with the host -- they will help! My advice (I have a 28ft toy hauler): don't pull through the gates, back your rig from the road down the driveway into your spot. 2-The rules for dogs on the property are strict, but fair. There are 3 camp sites very close to each other, an air bnb, and a dry camp site on the beach that necessitate the host rules. I do not enjoy campgrounds and this property is not that, but there are a lot of people staying in close proximity at any given time.
Overall, we had a fantastic time!

We had a great stay at Jose and Eileen’s Hipcamp in Miami. They were incredibly warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, which really set the tone for a relaxing visit. Jose went out of his way to suggest local restaurants and spots to check out, and his recommendations truly helped make our stay memorable. The whole experience felt easy and comfortable, and we’d definitely recommend staying here to anyone visiting the area.

We had a great stay in Loida and Alex's camper! The location was perfect for us -- just 10 minutes from the entrance to Everglades NP but also close to town, making it easy to pick up groceries. The camper was cozy, spotless, and well-stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The property was quiet with a lot of privacy, but it was nice having the hosts around in case we had any issues. Overall, a great way to end our trip to South Florida!

This property is in a suburban setting, close to shopping, restaurants and is central to many Miami attractions (within 45 minutes to most things). There is no real privacy or ambiance, but it was clean and all the utilities listed seemed to be in good working order. The host was attentive and had a relative on site as proxy as they were out of town at the time of our booking. The site is screened from the street behind a solid metal gate which adds to the feeling of security.

Overview
About
At 70 nautical square miles, this Florida state park is huge. Scuba divers and snorkelers love it here because the warm waters harbor a gigantic coral reef system. Crystal-clear visibility makes it easy to see everything underneath you.
Fish include sergeant majors, blue tang (Dory!), chubs, and bar jacks. Slow down a bit when you swim through Molasses Reef by Key Largo.
If diving isn't your thing, BYOB (bring your own boat). Explore the beautiful water on a canoe or kayak. Hire a tour guide with a special glass-bottom boat so you can see the reef without getting wet. You can fish, but it's permitted in designated areas only.
Campsites range from rustic to full facilities with hookups. Some sites put you near the water, while others have tropical hammocks for you to enjoy. Walk some of the trails near your campsite to find that secluded picnic spot.
When to go
The ideal time to visit John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park is during the dry season, from December to April, when the weather is mild and the skies are clear. Summer months can be hot and humid, with a higher chance of rain and storms, potentially affecting visibility for snorkeling and diving.

Love the location at the top of the keys. Sites are a little close for my comfort for a state park but still nice.

This is a wonderful campground. We stated 2 nights and had an amazing experience from the moment we pulled in until the moment we left. We took a snorkel tour right from the park and saw tons of fish (a lot of barracuda!), coral, and even a spotted ray. Full hook-ups and very clean restrooms / showers.

Most of this park consists of water and coral reefs. Boat rides can be purchased to take you out to the reefs for snorkeling. It also has two lovely beaches for swimming and mangrove canals for paddling.
