Named, unsurprisingly, for its mildly crescent-like shape, this large northern Florida lake is a great place for swimming and fishing, as well as hiking over four miles of walking trails. Primitive group camping and a covered picnic pavilion are available in the adjacent Haw Creek Preserve State Park, while plenty of reservable Hipcamps can also be found on the western side of the lake. Tent and RV sites with hookups are available at Faver-Dykes State Park, about a 40-minute drive from the eastern part of the lake, a portion of which is protected by the Crescent Lake Conservation Area.

We have it all here at Seminole Springs. We are open for tent camping.First come, First serve. We also have 3 units inside the lodge for the people who need just a step up from glamping, but not quite the whole hotel experience. These are beautiful comfortable rooms with half baths in the rooms. The showers are located in the lodge bathhouse. WE have the Jungle themed room, the Equestrian themed room and the Honeymoon Suite. Just go a little bit further until you see the sign for Camp Seminole Spring. Bring bug spray and sun screen. If you need something, don't worry! There is a Dollar General, a gas station and a small cafe within walking distance. We have 38 acres of camping sites nature trails for hiking and mountain biking. Guests can park right on their site, or they have the option of parking and hiking into the woods to set up their site a bit more remote and off the beaten path. This is rustic camping. We have a bathhouse located at the campsites with showers. The bathhouse at the Great Lodge hereas we do have garbage cans, we prefer that anything you bring into the property, you bring out with you. We allow campfires. The fishing is amazing in these parts, so if you are an angler, come and visit. We have .75 miles of frontage on the Orange Creek. The creek flows into Lake Ocklawaha which just so happens to be one of the best bass fishing lakes in the USA. In fact, ten-pound bass are not uncommon from the Lake Ocklawaha River in the winter. Recently (2020), a 17.2-pound bass was caught there. The combined Ocklawaha and St. Johns drainage basin is possibly the most significant river-estuary waterway of Florida. This water system is of legendary reputation among anglers of largemouth bass who seek 10 pound plus trophy fish. Conveniently located between Ocala and Gainesville in the heart of Orange Springs, Florida, Camp Seminole Spring is perfectly located for the traveler who wants to really connect with nature. It appears to be ‘off the beaten path’, yet it is close enough to civilization so that even the most seasoned camper can make a quick run to store should he or she need something not found in nature. Camp Seminole Spring is mid-way (approx.. 22 miles) between Ocala and Gainesville, Florida, which are two thriving cities in this area of Florida. Ocala, the ‘horse capital of the world’ showcases a brand new multi-billion-dollar equestrian center which draws people from all over the world. This scenic property has an artesian spring which pushes out 1.6 million gallons of water per day rated among the top three percent of water in the world with an 8.4 natural pH. This water fills the pond and then continues on to flow into Orange Creek. Camp Seminole Springs was established in the 1940’s as a honeymoon resort and campground. The founders built a heart-shaped ‘pond-spring’ which is filled with the crystal-clear water pushed out from the spring where guests can lounge by the beach or gaze down into the bottom through the glass-like water or take a refreshing swim. At the top of the hill overlooking the heart-shaped spring, one will find the rustic Great Lodge where guests can come and mingle with each other, enjoy a relaxing conversation and a drink on the veranda or just sit and watch the activity in and around the spring.

Our two level (full hookup) RV pads are on beautiful Anastasia Island within walking distance to the Atlantic ocean, Pier Court Park and the St. Augustine Amphitheater. Anastasia State Park is within a mile. St. Augustine is just over the Bridge of Lions three miles away. Each pad has its own furnished patio and small green yard space. We have a small fishing lake in the back yard (unfenced). There is a national bird rookery preserve a few blocks away so the bird watching is wonderful. There is an alligator farm and a dolphin aquarium on the island., as well as a historic continuous working light house and Maritime Museum. Our pads are just across the Bridge of Lions (2 miles) from the Oldest USA city, St. Augustine, Fl. The historic Fountain of Youth is here along with Castillo de San Marcus National Monument, St. George Street, the historic district plus many other attractions. We have two level paver RV Pads. They both have electric, black and grey water cleanout, fast high speed internet (full hookup). They each have private patios for picnics, socializing, and relaxing. Both pads have high speed internet. Pad 1 accommodates an RV up to up to 28' in length. Pad 2 accommodates an RV up to 34' in length. Fish off the deck or from the yard, zip over to the springs in 10 minutes or head over to the St Johns river for a meal. Lawn games anre under the 5th wheel to use. There is a camp store on site for snacks, bait, drinks, ice, fire wood etc. and there are board games up there that you’re welcome to check out. We are surrounded by conservation land and we have one of the highest populations of bald eagles. We also have friendly squirrels that love to tap on the door for nuts 🥜 in the morning. Turtles, small alligators and a very diverse bird population to name a few are always around. Our internet is Starlink and isn’t the best by any stretch of the imagination, cell service is pretty good though.

Karin and Phil are the best. They have put together a beautiful camping spot in their quiet and fenced area. So many amenities made our stay more like being in a luxury campground but we had the entire property to ourselves. Laundry facilities, a toilet and a shower, sinks for washing up and sinks for washing the dishes, a big beautiful grill and even a hot tub. There are beautiful gardens brimming with vegetables growing right there, and fresh fruits to eat, and even flowers all for the guests! You can tell that Phil and Karin, have big hearts for their guests and they are beautiful people and have a very nice camping spot.

1 night at True Trail Farm

We stayed in the Gypsy and loved it. Very comfortable and equipped well. Views from the windows of the Gypsy are like looking at a painting. The hosts, Kathy and her husband, are wonderful. She introduced us to all the very friendly animals. The property is very relaxing and beautiful. Love the hanging trees and all the shade. We sat outside in the evening and watched the animals. In the morning it was fun to watch the baby goats run around and they came up to say hello. Chickens are free roaming and so wonderful. If you love animals you have to stay here. The location had been on our list to try and so glad we did.

It was amazing. Real old florida feels. What i consider true florida. Secluded but close to store for goods. Lots of wildlife the spring was amazing to cool off in. They had canoe and paddle board but my fav was floating in the tubes. The mud boil was amazing aswell once i located it but that was half the adventure ;) the lady who checked us in was real sweet and helpful. Dogs on site were friendly and was fun when moose joined us for a dip one morning. Was exactly what I was looking for. The only thing ill say is it might be a good idea to treat the camping areas for ticks. We used multiply kinds of bug spray. I know it happens but there was an excessive amount and we were having to stay very vigilant to mske sure we were checking each other constantly. That was the only stress all weekend. Would Def recommend l. Will be back!! ❤️

Weekend Trip to True Trail Farm

What a cute little place! If I didn't have an RV I would certainly take advantage of their cabin or gypsy trailer. The animals are amazing - all named and wonderfully cared for. I was disappointed on not getting a full dozen fresh eggs (can't make a hen lay lol), but was rewarded with an extra bar of goat soap that is heavenly. If it wasn't 15 minutes from my house I'd stay there again!!! Definitely worth it - you'd never know there was a highway "right around the corner"! A little challenging to back onto the property because the road is narrow. Since it was so close to home, I scoped it out the day before.

I set up my Starlink for work. The Host provided wifi password, but I had already set up mine.

Weekend Trip to Timakwa Lakeside Campsites

Loved this land! Visited mid-June Summer 2026. Temp maybe 95° in the shade. Quiet and peaceful. WiFi available - ask the host. I work from home and set up my own Starlink (pic) but wifi is available. AC unit strong, an oil space heater is provided. Lights bright enough to see if you need and completely dark when off. Parking close. Bathrooms very clean with linens and soap/shampoo, great pressure and hot water, no ac/heat in bathrooms. I always camp with my own but it’s nice to have the options if you forget. Beds very comfortable and clean. Host provided microwave, mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker, coffee pods, creamer, sugar packets, salt, pepper, toaster, sink, soap, dishes & drainer, paper towels, first aid kit and fire extinguisher. Pans under sink but I didn’t check for cooking appliances. Like I said, I bring my own. Felt very safe and secure. Wildlife we saw were cranes and hawks and maybe a mink, ferret, or something resembling one. We will definitely return. There is a boat ramp. A few people were on the lake but Florida is experiencing a severe drought and the water level is really low everywhere. We saw a couple of boaters who won tags for alligators— to curb population (legal regulation). Beautiful peaceful place. Lighting bright if you need it, dark if you don’t. Ceiling fan inside and two outside. Host communicates very well. I always reach out before booking any HipCamp. I feel it is courteous especially if there are unforeseen circumstances with the booking.

I had the most amazing glamping experience! It was the perfect peaceful getaway to slow down, unplug, and enjoy nature. My favorite evenings were spent sitting by the fire making s’mores and looking up at the incredible star-filled sky. I loved being able to pick fresh blueberries, gather eggs from the chickens, and harvest green beans, squash, and radishes straight from the garden. Cooking a meal with fresh ingredients from the property made the experience feel even more special and unique. The location was also great; there are beautiful springs just 20 minutes away, making it easy to spend part of the day exploring. One of the biggest highlights for me was being able to bring my dog along. We both had the best time enjoying the peaceful surroundings and open space. If you're looking for a relaxing nature escape with thoughtful touches, fresh farm experiences, and a chance to truly unwind, I highly recommend staying here. The hosts and everyone else staying on the property was so friendly and welcoming! My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and it was exactly what we needed! We stayed in the scotty mccoy which is one of their smallest campers they have on property but had a nice king size bed inside which is all we needed for our 2 night stay. We got to hangout with the 3 cats on the property, along with the chickens, and ducks which we loved. We picked fresh blackberries from the bushes on the property as well as fresh eggs:) the tiki lit shower was one of our favorite feature of the space and provided a woody oasis feel! we plan on coming back and loved our experience not only on the property but in the surrounding areas as well.

This was my fourth stay at Cassandra and Walter’s beautiful Hipcamp, and my first time in the Bee Hive — which might just be my new favorite setup. It’s cozy, creative, and has that peaceful, tucked‑away charm that makes it so easy to unwind. My pups and I always feel completely at home here. The hosts are truly some of the sweetest, most thoughtful people you’ll ever meet. Every stay feels personal, cared for, and full of heart. There are also trails for walking, cycling, and horseback riding, and tent camping is permitted.
