Rasayana Cove

2 sites · Lodging25 acres · Ona, Hardee
Rasayana Cove is a 25-acre eco-retreat located in the heartland of west central Florida. An hour's drive east of Sarasota surrounded by vast tracts of orange groves and ranch land, Rasayana Cove has been operating as a small retreat center since 1995. The long eastern boundary borders Horse Creek, a major tributary of the Peace River. The property features two spring-fed ponds - one small and the other large.  The cabins are accessible by well constructed shell-topped roads with good drainage and a variety of nature pathways.  A natural ecosystem remains undisturbed in the middle of the property - a Florida bay head of native flora and wildlife. While most of the state is crowded and overdeveloped, this eco-retreat offers a haven of peace in the pristine nature of Florida

Camping for Pawsibilities

5 sites · RVs, Tents1 acre · North Port, Sarasota
I originally bought this piece of property to start an animal rescue. Of course like most first-time home owners I ran into One Financial issue after another. This has set back my animal rescue plans. I have decided to start this hipcamp to create some kind of funds for the property that will go towards the animal rescue goal. Right now this is just a trial run. If things seem to go well I will be adding different features to the property to make for a more comfortable / exciting stay. In the meantime I highly appreciate anyone who's willing to come out and park their RV or put up a tent - you my friend are potentially saving a life in the future ❤🐾 * Please give other guests privacy best as you can. * If you have kids, please do not let them climb trees / things. Adult must be with them when they shower next to pool. * If you need anything please let me know before or after you arrive. I like to give guests privacy, so do not feel offended if i do not come out to greet you. * Please clean up after your self before you leave. RV parking : Please check the feild before parking - the back left of the feild is not level. Generators allowed. No sewage dump on property. The gravel area is for RV's that need power and water. Tent camping : in the wooded area - please be aware of poison ivy, down trees from the last major storm (Ian), wildlife, and anything else that comes with nature. Park where you would like but leave the gravel area for RV's that need power and water. Provided For Tent campers: * We have 3 different portable potties with a privacy tent (+ Toilet paper / trash bags / sanitizer wipes ) * Outdoor shower with a tent (+ travel size shower washes / towels / shower floor mat ) * A utility sink (+ hand soap /dish soap / scrubby / hand towel) can provide a bucket if needed * We also have 1 portable fire pit if no one else is using it (+ Grill tools / Plates / plastic wear / cups / paper towels) * Large trash can at front of feild by Fence and small one near shower. * 2 folding chairs (have other types if they are being used) * Dirty laundry basket next to shower * Tarp if you need can be provided Ask for anything else you might need. The pool is not available at this time. (sorry in advance for the pool area being a mess it's hard to keep up on after Ian and my screens being destroyed) Also: * There is very little light out here at night. I have solar lights but Please bring some light of your own. * The neighbors have several farm animals including roosters. * They also have active kids who enjoy riding 4 wheelers, having a fire and sometimes listening to music. * There is a Male dog that likes to come see my dogs, he is friendly just very vocal. I do ask his owners that he is kept put up when i have campers but some times he sneaks out. * I try to make sure no one is in the back yard before i let my dogs out to potty, but just so you know they are all very nice. * Yes we have mosquitoes. Extras: * Pets allowed but must be leashed at all times if outside. * Ask questions !! Thank you !

Camping on the Gulf Coast guide

Stretching for around 670 miles, from the border with Alabama all the way down to the tropical Florida Keys, Florida's Gulf Coast is well-known for its cities and vacation areas, but it's also a great spot to get out into nature. Here you'll find white-sand beaches, wildlife-rich bayous, and mile upon mile of protected lands that provide sanctuary to a host of avian species. Camping opportunities in the region are endless, from state-run campgrounds to private RV to intimate Hipcamps, all just a short jaunt from many of the state’s most impressive beaches.

Where to Go

The Florida Panhandle

The northwesternmost section of the Gulf Coast, this region offers a great mix of sandy beaches, marshes, and cultural attractions. Spots worth checking out include Big Lagoon State Park in Pensacola and Grayton Beach State Park in Santa Rosa, which offers easy access to the Gulf of Mexico and to a massive lake. Other popular spots in this region include St. Andrews State Park, where you can camp near the beach, and St. George Island, a sandy isle just off the coast of historic Carrabelle.

North Florida

Many of the less-developed beaches on the Gulf Coast can be found along its northern reaches, and much of this part of the state is preserved and protected by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's wildlife management area program. The area is also a great place to spot manatees, especially in spots such as the aptly named Manatee Springs State Park.

Central Florida

The central part of the Gulf Coast gets plenty of tourists, particularly in popular cities such as Tampa and Sarasota. Fort Myers is another hot spot, providing easy access to beautiful natural areas such as the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve and the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge.

South Florida and the Keys

You'll find some of the prettiest natural areas in the state at the southern end of Florida’s Gulf Coast, from the Cape Romano - Ten Thousand Islands Aquatic Preserve near Naples to the massive Everglades National Park. At the far end of the state, the Florida Keys feature a mix of developed areas and protected natural spots, including the Great Heron National Wildlife Reserve, where sea birds and turtles flock en masse, to the National Key Deer Refuge which, as the name suggests, protects endemic Key deer.

Hipcamp is created with ❤️ and hope for our future.
