🚗 Two miles (5min drive) from downtown Sarasota 🌴 Old-Florida charm: lots of lush tropical greenery 🚣🏼‍♂️ On Whitaker’s Bayou. 🌟 It’s the best of both worlds: peaceful nature on the creek, and easy access to all the best restaurants, beaches, and charming Main St atmosphere. 💩 MUST have a bathroom on-board. No sewer hookup 💦 No water hookup, but you may fill your water tank with the hose ⚡️ 15amp & 30 amp plug ins. BYO adapter. Extension cord needed to reach the plug. 🏕️ No long term campers. No tent camping. 🚴🏼 Biking to Main St takes 8-10minutes if you have bicycles! 🏖️ Ten minute drive from St-Armands Circle and Lido Beach; 20-25 minute drive from Siesta Key Beach. The Bayou goes all the way out to the Gulf - we see large schools of mullet here, occasionally turtles, hawks, and herons. If you are lucky, you might see a manatee or an otter! We have a 36” campfire pit you are welcome to use. We are still working on getting seating for the campfire pit, but if you have camping chairs, it’s perfect! We have an amazing location to share AND we also have neighbors to the left, and across the creek. We value and respect them. We wish to share our space with quiet and mindful campers. The property is 0.5 acre. You will be parking in part of the yard, under the shade of one of the oaks, slightly tucked back away from the house. We can be available to help/welcome you, and offer local guidance if you like. **A sweet but fearful rescue dog lives here and we are not allowing any other animals to camp or stay on the property.** NO DOGS WHATSOEVER. Enjoyed our stay at our Hipcamp right near the heart of downtown Sarasota! Felt like our own little private oasis with lush tropical greenery and was within walking distance to the cutest funky retro 70's hangout spot, The Mable. Our host Stephanie was so kind and welcoming, as well as her resident doggie! Would love to stay again when visiting Sarasota.

The place is just wonderful and relaxing. In the city, near everything, and at the same time you think you are in country side. There is a gate so very secure. Hope to come back next year. Thanks again Stephanie for your nice hospitality 🏝️😎

Our third year in a row staying here and we hope we can make it back every February in the future! Perfect cozy spot for exploring the best of Sarasota. 10-15 min drive to Lido, 5 mins from wonderful coffee shops and restaurants, a beautiful site surrounded by bamboo, can’t beat it! Thanks Steph!

A Hideaway in the Suburbs

Driving in I was sure the directions were incorrect, but on arriving, there it was. I'm guessing about 1 acre property, bounded on 2 sides by a tidal creek, and surrounded by bamboo. Very quiet and private. There is a deck to sit and enjoy the creek and surroundings.

Steph was a helpful and friendly host. She welcomed us on arrival, offered suggestions of places to eat and bike when we asked, and checked in by text to make sure we were having a good trip. Her space is beautiful and feels secluded, even though very close to downtown Sarasota. Hope to stay again.

We loved Steph’s little slice of paradise. Bayou Bliss was perfect for us in our Sprinter Van. The property is gated; entire yard is shady; beautiful deck overlooking the small bayou; 30amp electric; and available water. We spent our evening on the deck; quiet and peaceful. We slept well; no traffic noise, no blinding lights. Steph was friendly and accommodating. And her little buddy, Ollie (dog), was sweet. We would definitely stay here again.

Close to everything but private

Close to everything but a private world away! Steph is a great host and her property is gated, secluded and beautiful. The river runs on one side and the camp spot is in the middle of bamboo and old growth trees. We needed 30 feet of electric cord to reach the outlet, so be prepared for that. Steph has plenty of hose to reach the camp spot to fill your tanks. Nearby are bike paths (right outside the gate), Sarasota Bay and nice parks for sunsets, laundry, grocery stores and plenty of restaurants. We dumped at Sarasota Lakes RV park that is a little over 4 miles away for a cost of $15.

When we drove through the nearby town Sarasota, we started to wonder how we could possible arrive at a camp spot like Bayou Bliss. But then we turned a corner into her street and opened a (very beautiful) gate to a little peace of heaven. It really is that beautiful. Steph is very welcoming and just a joy to talk with, and helped us park at a spot that was level, near electricity and a fresh water hose to fill up our tank. A very nice stop indeed. Very recommendable!

This is a beautiful private level site. I spotted a blue heron from the deck on the water. The location provides easy access to Sarasota and the surrounding area. Steph is a great host and I enjoyed meeting her dog.
