TIMAKWA Lakeside Campsites are located on the west side of Orange Lake, Florida—once inhabited by Timucuan Indians, Spanish missionaries, and local fishermen. The campsites sit beneath shady cypress tree limbs on the north side of the property, which is teeming with sandhill cranes, eagles, cattle, and other wildlife. Relaxation is built into the landscape. Whether you enjoy kayaking, fishing, or birdwatching, our campsites offer something for everyone. You’ll also have access to a private boat ramp and covered boat slips. Each campsite includes or has access to the following amenities: • Picnic tables • Private bathrooms • Outdoor showers • 110V power outlets • Potable water By Special Request: • 30/50 amp RV partial hookups • Boat ramp access • Fish-cleaning station • Firepit access • Grill

Cypress Nook III is a tent-lovers paradise with panoramas of both cypress trees and grazing cows, along the northern edge of Timakwa's old fish camp cottages. This site has a dedicated WATER supply and 20 Amp electric service in addition to a private fire pit (firewood provided). An ideal spot to crash after a long day of fishing, kayaking and bird watching. Guests will have access to common restrooms (single entry) with HOT + COLD showers a few steps away. But if you like outdoor showers, we got that too! Tent rentals available upon request. Please note there may be other groups camping within the same general area. An ideal spot for a family of 4 to crash after a long day of fishing, kayaking and bird watching. Guests will have access to common restrooms (single entry) with HOT + COLD showers a few steps away. Baitshop Bungalow + 2 Twin Beds

Loved this land! Visited mid-June Summer 2026. Temp maybe 95° in the shade. Quiet and peaceful. WiFi available - ask the host. I work from home and set up my own Starlink (pic) but wifi is available. AC unit strong, an oil space heater is provided. Lights bright enough to see if you need and completely dark when off. Parking close. Bathrooms very clean with linens and soap/shampoo, great pressure and hot water, no ac/heat in bathrooms. I always camp with my own but it’s nice to have the options if you forget. Beds very comfortable and clean. Host provided microwave, mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker, coffee pods, creamer, sugar packets, salt, pepper, toaster, sink, soap, dishes & drainer, paper towels, first aid kit and fire extinguisher. Pans under sink but I didn’t check for cooking appliances. Like I said, I bring my own. Felt very safe and secure. Wildlife we saw were cranes and hawks and maybe a mink, ferret, or something resembling one. We will definitely return. There is a boat ramp. A few people were on the lake but Florida is experiencing a severe drought and the water level is really low everywhere. We saw a couple of boaters who won tags for alligators— to curb population (legal regulation). Beautiful peaceful place. Lighting bright if you need it, dark if you don’t. Ceiling fan inside and two outside. Host communicates very well. I always reach out before booking any HipCamp. I feel it is courteous especially if there are unforeseen circumstances with the booking.

Cypress Nook III + Water & Power

I loved tent camping at Vinnys place. The bathrooms are amazing. The morning and afternoon symphonies sold me. Owls, Falcons, Cranes and LOTSA beautiful sounds that I couldn't identify. We were given permission to feed the donkeys some carrots and saw cows and horses in neighboring areas. The site was level and had a firepit, electric, and water. Since we were the only campers for the weekend my dog stayed off leash and loved it( we actually booked a 2nd night) Both Vinny and his dad were welcoming and accommodating.
