Our farm is off the beaten path surrounded by mossy oaks and lots of shade. If you are having a rough week, load up and relax on our working farm filled with miniature horses and numerous other adorable miniature animals that will be sure to put a smile on your face. Pack your camping gear, tents, vans or RVs and find peace away from the traffic and everyday stress. There is plenty of nature and you can take a long stroll to clear your head. Mount Dora is across the main street less than 5 minutes away. Our antique town is an amazing experience to explore with lots of history and complete with quaint shops and restaurants, boating and lots of things to do. Rennigers Antique Center is located right up the street (less than 5 minutes away) for some great picking. We are conveniently close to the Central Florida Attractions and the beach on both east and west coasts within an hour drivep. A few Campers favorite places to visit are Mount Dora Bike Trail - 2.6 miles, Kelly Park - 11 miles and Kings Landing 12 miles from farm. We offer youth day camps on various dates, pony rides and a tour of our farm animals for an additional fee. Reservations required in advance due to the other activities we have going on. In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us. Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property. Little by little we have evolved into more of a need to share with the community and help others with the relaxing qualities our farm and animals have to offer, we want to be able to share and better educate with hands on experiences, teach kindness, patience, confidence and help others to be the best they can be. Thank you for your time and if you visit, share a review! Reviews are the best way for us to better ourselves and your experience. Have a great stay!

First site is a 12x32 concrete slab with city water and a 30-amp camper electric service. The second site (near the rear of the property) is a 10x14 concrete slab with city water and a household electric service of about 13 amps. No sewage facilities for both sites, must have black water holding tanks. Located on an acre with Grissom Pkwy in the back. Very near the restaurant "Jabbers". Great views of rocket launches, just a few miles from Publix, other shops and other restaurants. About a mile to the Indian River, about five miles to the Banana River (and Kelly Park for windsurfing or launching boats) about 12 miles to Port Canaveral and the beach at Jetty Park or better yet (my fav) Cherie Down Park. CDP is great for surfing, beach fishing, viewing rocket launches or just beach walking. While there please visit Port Canaveral's host of bars and restaurants. Also, about 25 miles to the Space Center. PLEASE! Best way onto property is go west on Canaveral Groves Blvd 1/2 mi. to Alan Sheppard, left and left again at 1st. street (Atlanta St.). Back the 1/2 mi. to Knoxville Ave where the trailer/camper entrance lines up directly with Atlanta St. GPS does NOT know if you are pulling a camper/trailer...LOL!

Hey guys! As avid campers and adventure seekers ourselves, we know how important safe (and cost effective) space for a night or two is. That’s why we decided to offer a corner of our own rural paradise - amongst the mature oaks, blooming magnolias and palms. We have just under 7 acres with plenty of yard to share. It’s pretty basic space without a lot of amenities (yet), but we know you’d love it here. Our pricing reflects our humble start and we invite you to park your RV, pop open your tent and make yourself at home. A few things you can expect… ~Wherever you decide to set up camp, we will provide a picnic table, trash can and fire pit with wood. ~We are super pet friendly so bring your furry family members and we will ensure they’re safe and comfortable as well. ~There is access to water from the main house. ~ Electricity can be provided depending on how close you set up to the house. WiFi as well. ~ We do have a chicken coop so you can expect to hear them throughout the day. ~ We are on a dead end road in a rural residential area. Super quiet! ~ Pit potty in a super cute Outhouse. ~ If you stay during the month of March, you will adore our lightening bugs! ~ Tons of mature trees so bring your hammocks. ~ We are on site and available to you when needed. Forgot bug spray or need a band-aid? We got you! Need a board game, yard game or puzzle? We got those too! ~ Want total privacy? That’s ok too! Watch us grow and come back as our offerings grow too. The best camping in Wekiwa Springs State Park, FL guide

Overview

About

Less than a half-hour drive from downtown Orlando, Wekiwa Springs State Park is a lush pocket of wilderness and the perfect antidote to Florida’s amusement parks. Escape to the lush riverbanks and wooded trails and let nature entertain you instead. Cool off with a swim at the star attraction—Wekiwa Springs—then set out to explore more than 40 miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails. The oak tree-fringed shores and wildlife of Rock Springs Run and the Wekiva River are best admired by kayak or canoe, while campers can choose between the busy family campground or four remote primitive camps

Notable campgrounds

  • Best for intrepid paddlers: Big Buck Camp has primitive tent sites along Rock Springs Run and is only accessible by water.
  • Best for backcountry explorers: Cozy Camp has hike-in or ride-in primitive camping with space for up to 10 people and horses.
  • Best for RV campers: Family Campground has 60 spacious sites, all with an electric hookup, picnic table, and fire ring. Sewer hookups are also available.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. You can reserve one of 60 campsites or primitive camps via the Florida State Parks Reservation website.
  2. Wekiwa Springs campsite reservations can be made 11 months in advance for Florida residents, or 10 months in advance for non-residents.
  3. Campsites can book up fast, so plan your booking at least six months in advance. It’s not uncommon for summer and holiday weekends to be booked as soon as they become available.

When to go

Wekiwa Springs State Park draws visitors year-round, but peak season runs from May through September. During this period, the park often reaches capacity, and late arrivals will be turned away—plan to arrive as close to opening time as possible to avoid disappointment. Visiting out of season means fewer crowds, and with mild winter temperatures, outdoor activities can be enjoyed through all four seasons.

Know before you go

  • Wekiwa Springs State Park is north of downtown Orlando, about a 25-minute drive away. Parking lots are set by the two trailheads.
  • There are day-use fees for all Florida State Parks, and campsite booking fees also apply.
  • Facilities at Florida Caverns include a restaurant and concession stand, restrooms, a playground, and picnic areas with grills. Bikes, kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards can be rented at the park on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Black bears are present at Wekiwa Springs State Park, so keep food and garbage secure in camping and day-use areas, and follow the park’s bear safety guidelines.
  • There are accessible restrooms, campsites, and picnic areas at Wekiwa Springs. The springs also have a ramp and chair lift to enter the swimming area.
