We loved walking the farm and watching the horses and taking to the people about the horses. This is for people who want a place to stay without all the luxuries at a very reasonable rate. Got a nice hot shower in the morning.

Great first time Hipcamp experienc!
We couldn’t be happier with our stay at Ashby Farms. This was our first experience using Hipcamp and second camping adventure as a family. We were set up with a great view of the horse ring and a short walk from hot showers and bathrooms. Our 4 year old loved the horses and had a few places to explore on his own within site of our camping spot. Our host was very kind and communicated with us very well. This was a last minute booking but we were happy that we did.

Beautiful land but was noisy…
Ashby Acres is a beautiful piece of land. The pastures and horses make for a nice setting and it is not hard to find. But there are some issues in relation to how they are selling it.
Although the listing said there were picnic tables, there was none available. The only one they had was being used. Also, there was someone camped (living) next to us that had two generators running all the time. He had a loud one during the day and a less loud one at night. This pretty much ruined any chance at a peaceful setting. There should absolutely be a policy in place about generators running past sundown. That, or put RVs in a different place. Trying to fall asleep to the sound of a generator is completely opposed to why I chose this place.
The bathroom, while it is a bathroom with a hot shower was in filthy and not well looked after. It served its purpose but if you’re looking for anything beyond the most basic, it was not.
I don’t want to make this all sound bad because the camping was still nice and we enjoyed our time. There was grass to camp on and the sounds of horses all around were cool. I just wish the manager had mentioned the noise because we could have moved to another area.

We stayed 2 nights and it was beautiful and peaceful. Everyone was very friendly. We got to walk the land and see all of the beautiful horses!

A different type of camping
Note, this is a primitive site with some extras. It is a 20-minute ride to Ft Pierce town and its beaches. The host is very friendly and responsive. It's an operating horse stable and you don't mind sharing some space with them, this is a fun experience. Some sites have fire pits and a few have picnic benches. There is a bathroom with hot water but very simple. You do have use of a large meeting area for electricity , water, and microwave.. I also had good internet reception. Make sure you use the owner's directions. Do not use GPS

Grounding
Beautiful setting, peaceful, spacious and quiet. An active horse farm, I enjoyed the occasional passersby and their greetings. The hot shower is delightful :) Annie, the owner, has a lovely, joyful energy. This is a great place to center oneself. Thank you!!

This was our first time using Hipcamp and it was as good as we had hoped for. We are new to camping so this location was perfect. It’s secluded but close to town in case you need to run to the store. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful.

I liked the fact that there are no designated camp sites. It is just one big area in which you decide where to set up your tent. I picked a spot that would have some shade mid day to keep my tent cool, although it was really cold when I was there at night! It was fun seeing all the horse activity during the day. The hosts were very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful camp location.
What a fantastic place. I’d like to thank the owner Ms Annie for hosting our crew and Melvin for showing us around. Our camp spot was near the horse training ring so we got to watch them train. There were mini horses we could pet so we loved that. It was nice having bathroom and shower to use. The horse farm is close to Summer Crush Winery which I highly recommend going to. Great weekend.

Family Camping
We had such a great time! Camped out with the family for two days. We had such a good spot with a fire pit and picnic table. The grounds were really clean and the grass was cut. The bathroom was a 2 min walk from us. Absolutely loved being around the horses, we could see them training and hear them playing. One of the employees even took us on a tour of the barns. He was so cool and inviting. We hope to be back next year. Such a great way to enjoy cooler weather in Florida and spend some time outdoors. 10/10 recommend!

Clear Communication
We got there late and left early. Couldn’t ask for a better spot to hang our hats for the night. The host, who had left for the day; was an excellent communicator. She gave clear instructions on how to get in, where to park, and some layouts of the land. She apologized profusely for her hurricane ruined roads(of absolute no consequence to us!), and made it clear that we would be able to contact her at any point. The other people on the property were helpful and were waiting for us to arrive and show us to our spot for the night!

Site 7 - Beautiful Florida Horse Country
Well where do I start .. my first tent camping alone and it was amazing … primitive site but soft on my body… had a fire second night and loved seeing the moon and stars … my granddaughters came to help me take pop up tent down and see horses .. so many photos were taken and the horses loved extra pets for sure … quiet and Annie was a jewel showing me around … I’d definitely go again maybe camp with my 14 year old granddaughter who loves horses… somewhat hot in daytime so I’d advise shade sitting in summer …sunsets were welcome to my camera … love all of this place…
