Best host ever, a frame was cozy and relaxed, great stargazing and fun for my 5 year olds first of camping experiences. We did kayaks, jumped on the trampoline, roasted marshmallows hot dogs and told campfire stories. Also had some great conversations with the host, great human.

From the wonderful hosts John and Patty, to the serene property, eclectic amenities, and thought out touches included in your stay at the cottage, we could not have been more pleased. Everyone was so nice, and the cottage was more than we could have hoped for and most certainly spoiled us for the weekend. We enjoyed the cold AC, ice maker, water machine, CLEAN cottage and bathroom, comfortable beds, fire pit and grill, chairs, hammock, seriously everything you need to make your stay easy, and enjoyable. I HIGHLY recommend this HIPCAMP property.

I really enjoyed my stay at J & P Creekside. The cabin was awesome, very clean, and had all the amenities we needed. A proper shower would have been nice, but they did have an open shower, which worked fine. The host, John, was very welcoming and made me feel like home. He went over and above to make sure everything was comfortable, which I really appreciated. This time I came mainly for my son’s cross-country event, so I couldn’t explore or enjoy much of the activities around. Hopefully, when I visit again, I’ll definitely try kayaking and some of the other things I missed. The stream by the cabin was beautiful and peaceful — overall, a very good experience, and I’d love to come back again.

We had a fantastic time staying at this lovely tony house as our base for a weekend of camping and adventures. We had a blast staying on John's property for my birthday weekend! The A-frame cabin comfortably fit my husband and I along with our 3 littles (11, 3 and 1). The outdoor shower was our favorite along with the docks for fishing. The property itself was absolutely beautiful, quiet and serene, and there was so much for us to do. We didn't get a chance to take out the kayaks and paddleboards but are hoping to come back in a few months if and when it cools down a bit. :)

My little puppy and I stayed for 4 nights and days. Marty and Wendy are the kindest people I have ever met, I wish I could have stayed forever! We will definitely be going back. Their property is beautiful. The plants, trees, flowers, butterflies, everything was beautiful. My dog made fast friends with their dog, Lady, and they definitely need to see eachother again as well. Their large fenced yard was absolutely paradise for my dog as we don't have a fence at home. This is top-tier glamping in my opinion. Yes, you need to walk across the yard to use the toilet in the modern outhouse, but it is so cute and sure beats using a bucket in the woods! There are lights on all night, so you don't need a lamp or flashlight to wander around after dark. The outside shower and pool are everything, especially if you're lucky enough to be taking a shower while a lovely sun shower goes by. The 2 huge, beautiful oak tree canopies over the pool is to die for, as well as the sunsets and sunrise around the tree tops. I have never experienced the nudist way of life and I could not imagine a better way to try it out than with Marty and Wendy on their lovely land, Paradise Found. There is so much beauty to be found there, mentally, physically, spiritually. Freedom of self here is unbeatable. Absolutely amazing. I will never forget my adventure here! ... and can't wait to do another trip!

The Everglades National Park

When to go

Before you go camping in South Florida, consider the weather, mosquitoes, and wildlife. Avoid coastal Florida during hurricane season, especially if you’re planning a getaway to the Florida Keys. Summer in the Everglades likewise brings bugs, whereas winter’s dry season opens the door for spotting wildlife. However, winter does come with crowds, especially in national parks and resort towns. Spring and fall make for the most neutral camping seasons.
