I stashed a collapsible picnic table behind the big rock and you're welcome to use that, please just fold it and stash it again. There are no structures at all on the property. Per Hipcamp and local zoning, you may not relieve yourself outdoors; you must be in a vehicle or privacy tent. There is a fire ring. If you intend to make a camp fire, YOU MUST LET ME KNOW so I can call the Hartsel Fire Department. They will then tell me if there's a burn ban in place and I will relay that info to you. This must be done no later than 24 hours before you plan to burn. Hipcamp will sometimes turn on my fire ban based on data from the National Weather Service. The only way to know the full situation is for me to call Hartsel FD. If you see some expensively outfitted motorcyclists cruise by, they're from the Rawhyde Training Camp up the road so give them a wave!

Weekend Trip to A Special Place in South Park

Quiet, beautiful, easy, and peaceful! Eric’s spot is a short drive to nearby fly fishing and state parks while also being incredibly quiet and private. The level gravel pad and fire pit were nice amenities! It got quite windy during our stay, but you can’t control the weather.

3 nights at Pleasant Valley RV Park

Our river front site at Pleasant Valley was perhaps the nicest we've ever had at a commercial RV Park. Great location, all the hook-ups we're functional and the staff was nice. We walked under the railroad bridge to the small parallel road to see the stars and also biked to the south to hike up an unmarked slot canyon and check out the historic Howard Cemetery. It's a ways to Salida and Buena Vista but the road is good and the Arkansas Canyon is scenic. Large number of bird species around and we had an active Bluebird nest box right at our site.

3 nights at Sweetwater River Resort

We stayed at Corral #1. It is beautiful and right by the Arkansas River. We would sit and watch wildlife activity on the river. The managers were available and helpful (we purchased ice from the camp store). It was nice to have flushing toilets and showers available. The road is right behind the camp and you can hear the traffic (but at night we played white noise and it did a good job blocking it out). We enjoyed our stay!

Wasn't 100% certain I was in the right place, but I think I figured it out. Was the only one out there -- very peaceful and quiet. Views were cool, but mountains were a bit off in the distance. Lots of cows and a Pronghorn which was cool!

We loved sweet water resort, nice calm place, clean areas, showers and restrooms. We were able to stargaze the sky was gorgeous. The road is right next to the campground so is loud.
