Our RV Park in South Fork CO has space for 18 R.V.’s. Each site has full hookups with the majority being 50amp service and are oversized so that they can handle any big rig! There is a shower house and laundry facility available for our guests (seasonal). There is more than ample parking and each site is easy to access.
Our sites are back off the highway for a more relaxing atmosphere and the view is amazing. We have a community fire pit of which we can roast hot dogs, marshmallows for s’mores and tell all the stories you would like. “What goes on at the Fire Pit stays at the Fire Pit.”

We are 32728 hwy 149 Creede. 11 miles towards Lake City on hwy 149. Pull all through the Cabins and either turn left up the little hill camping anywhere, but keep the fire pit open for everyone. Or drive through the green gate past cabin #7 and camp in the pasture. Bathhouse is in the middle of the cabins. (No Bathhouse or water after September 15th.) Fire pit and picnic table are on the hill. You can have dogs off leash anywhere away from the cabins and RV sites, just be careful as we have horses, we don't want the pup's getting kicked. New Sky Ranch is a wild, wild place. We are not only off grid, but also nestled in a large natural caldera (meaning a volcano that has collapsed on itself) and are right next to national forest. This means that we can experience all 4 seasons in a single day - having extreme winds and rain in one moment, and clear summer skies the next! We invite you to not only be prepared for this, but to lean into the experience as this unique high alpine environment can be one of the most inspiring and epic places on earth.
We are currently fixing up what is already on the property for an eco-experiential retreat as well as a space for like minded artists to take refuge and create magic on the land. We currently have our workshop and studio space up and running as well as the first of several livable structures completed - an 100 year old rehabbed miners cabin using Hempcrete and other natural materials, complete with a communal outdoor kitchen. We also have begun hosting our first artist/maker residents who are using the shop space and land to bring their own creations to life. Over time, we have dreams of permaculture farming, eco building workshops, community collaboration, and the ability to host gatherings – however, we are committed to taking it all one step at a time and allowing only what is meant to be to unfold. For now it is simply our home, a maker space for art and experimental eco building, a gathering spot for friends and a quiet Hipcamp spot.

We have 1.75 acres. The history of this property is interesting, varied and historical. During WWII the property was used as a detainment camp for German POW's. They were transferred here from Trinidad and Walsenburg CO to work with the farmers in the community, working potatoes. It was a happy, fruitful work situation and some of the farmers/POW's became good friends, even traveling to visit each other after the war. Parts of the building are still there. Serendipity. The land has served as an auto junk yard, repair shop, metal scrap yard, thrift store and more. As we have worked on the property we have found many treasures that are working their way to the surface. The location of the property we feel is perfect. You can get everywhere from here. We are in the city of Monte Vista limits, town is walking distance. It sits in the middle of what makes the valley thrive. Farming (Cows & hay) to the East. There is also a beautiful view of Mt Blanca and the Sange de Christo mountain range. When the sun sets you understand the beauty of the mountain and understand why is was named Blood of Christ. To the North is Coors - they gather the barley that is grown here in the valley to start the making of the beer. To the West is Mountain King - a potato storage unit. There is about 55,000 acres of potatoes grown with a wide variety of all different colors. With averages of 22 tons of potatoes per acre. - That's a lot of taters! The sunset over Mountain King is what you see in the pictures. Serendipity Camp is less than 1/2 mile from Monte Vista. Gas, groceries, coffee shops, restaurants, thrift & gift stores, and hardware. And although there are town lights around, there is not alot of light noise overhead and you can see millions of stars. There is one fire pit for now, but working on others. Some firewood is provide. There are picnic tables in the community area and we are moving toward a working community kitchen. We are still doing improvements and setup but would love to have you stay with us. We welcome feedback. There are 2 porta potties and some non-potable water to use. For now, come and set up camp where you please. The tents are not ready yet as we need to glamp them up a little. Will get them listed as soon as they are ready, We do allow pets, on leash in the campground. One of the other amenities we are building is an agility dog park that will be available to campers and members from the community.

San Luis Valley is a region in south-central Colorado with a small portion overlapping into New Mexico. The valley is approximately 122 miles long and 74 miles wide, making it the largest alpine valley in the world. It extends from the Continental Divide on the northwest rim into New Mexico on the south.
This campground sits close to the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. I encourage binoculars or even a telescope to view wildlife and check out the Rockies and then the night sky views!
Looking to submerse yourself in nature? The Sangre de Cristo Range in Colorado contains the following 14ers: Blanca Peak, Challenger Point, Crestone Needle, Crestone Peak, Culebra Peak, Ellingwood Point, Humboldt Peak, Kit Carson Peak, Mount Lindsey, and Little Bear Peak.

History: this land was originally part of a large cattle ranch in the 1980s. The main ranch is still up and running but this parcel was used for many purposes over the years.
In 2021, we were featured in USA Todays Ten Best for star gazing!
My property has 360 degree mountains views with the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range as our back yard. Nearby you can find many different trail systems for all kinds of outdoor enthusiasts. From hiking to jeeping, ATV or dirt biking and equestrians - you can find it all!
You will be surrounded by BLM land, BACA land, and Wildlife Refuge just two miles away. Be sure to bring extra bug spray and protection needed against biting insects such as flies, gnats, and mosquitoes.
For those bringing your pets, they MUST be on a leash/lead at all times. While I do not have much cactus on my property, I do have an abundance of greasewood (Chico brush) which is very thorn-like if stepped on.
Accommodations for those with livestock or horses, just make sure you chat in advance your initial message.
Close to BLM, and National Forest as well as 3 hot springs within 20 miles and the Great Sand Dunes.

HISTORIC SPRUCE LODGE
A rich history that goes back to the 1920's and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Spruce Lodge, originally built in 1927 in South Fork, CO, is located near the Rio Grande River at the foot of the San Juan Mountains and provides an environment of warm hospitality in a relaxed atmosphere. Historically accommodating workers for the Sawmill in the 1920's, The Spruce Lodge was purchased in May of 2022 with a primary purpose of housing adults who are participating in a Gap Year program designed to mentor new adults and serve the South Fork community.
The property continues to operate as a hotel and has undergone extensive updates to all of the rooms. We have 8, 30 amp RV spots available to rent from April to October. Our small RV lot allows for a less crowded RV experience with all the same, beautiful views and access to all the area has to offer. And we have the most affordable rates in South Fork! Most of our RV guests end up extending their stay to take advantage of all the outdoor activities South Fork and the San Luis Valley have to offer. Really peaceful spot. Scott's Ranch is so massive and has so many beautiful sections to explore. The town itself is really beautiful - my wife and I had a routine of going to the nearby Tiny Timbers cafe to get breakfast, letting the dogs loose to walk around the lake, the whole ranch, and the river. It's surrounded by an industrial area, with that being said it's secure gated property, quiet, no one bothers you or your campsite, porta potty was clean has a light in it at night, bring your own toilet paper. If you don't care about the scenery you just need a quiet secure place to stay for a little while I would recommend kalli's land.

This is a little secret I hate to let people know about. We were the only ones camping this week. We had the entire place to ourselves. We ran into the owner and 2 ranch hands a couple of times, but besides that we were all alone. The owner and ranch hands were extremely nice. The fly fishing was top notch. I fished for 3 days and caught 15-18 inch trout every day. The river was maintained very well. We were here the first week of October and the colors of the trees was unbelievable.
My wife wanted seclusion, river, and colors. I wanted fly fishing. We got everything we both wanted.
I want to visit this ranch again.

Beautiful spot on the river! County rd next to it but is rarely used. I did have some families of Amish drive by in horse and buggy. Good fishing. River was low but I managed a handful over a day and a half, one 18”. Height of leaves changing and so colors were amazing. Great hosts. Provide all firewood too!

This spot was perfect. It was in a great location close to the hot springs which is what we go to pagosa for. There are some woods nearby that our dogs had a blast in. Beautiful and peaceful. Totally will come back!

This is a unique and amazing place! We camped here two years ago and loved it again. The grounds are immaculate and so carefully thought out. Our host was very kind and available. I highly recommend this place for a unique experience. Watching the moon, the star, skies and dramatic Mountain View’s. The solitude is therapeutic.

We absolutely loved our stay at High Peaks! Site 17 was in the perfect corner with no one between our view of the mountains and site itself was big enough to fit two 4-person tents, a 6-person tent and 2 vehicles.
There were a few sites nearby to us, but noise was not an issue. We were lucky enough to not have anyone in the sites next to us at first, but even when campers showed up it was very peaceful. We felt like we had our own private campsite even with it being Labor Day weekend!
The porta-potties were SO clean (probably the cleanest I've been in), and the toilet paper was stocked up until our last day. We appreciated that there was firewood on-site and took advantage of not having to go anywhere. The picnic table was also nice to have, and the potable water on-site was a huge blessing.
Wifi didn't work from our campsite but service was still available for calls & texts. Wind was a slight issue for us the first day, high gusts of up to 15 MPH and we had some difficulty keeping our tents down and no campfires in those conditions. It didn't effect our experience at all after it died down, but I would recommend bringing extra stakes. It also gets very hot with no tree coverage.
Sunrise & sunset had the most incredible 360 views, if you're looking for a beautiful, peaceful environment - stay here!! 10/10 would recommend again.

This is an amazing family camp site! The hosts are very kind and want to make sure you have a good stay. They even gave us chicken eggs from their very own chickens on the property. The site is quiet and perfect for a family looking for a peaceful setting. National forests surround the area and there is plenty to explore. Full hookups for our camper was the cherry on top!

Lance is an exceptionally courteous and responsive host. His land is truly spectacular. It's a private paradise for people that want to get off the beaten path with a camper. The river is beautiful and this spot it is totally worth the price. It may not be everyone's cup of tea without the amenities of a campground/RV park, but if you don't want all that and are looking for quiet breathtaking views, with space for your fur babies to frolic through fields and swim in the river, this place is for you. I'm so grateful I was able to spend time here and will likely return next year!

We arrived late and checked out early. A quick overnight on our journey. So we didn’t get a chance to experience everything. I can say the host was wonderful. Walked us to our site. Explained everything about the grounds. They seem to have everything you could need. We backed our van to within 15 feet of a running creek. Nice. Beautiful location, not far from Pagosa Springs (10 miles ish). Would definitely return when in the area. Thanks!

My mother, brother, our two dogs and I stayed here in late June and again in early July. We took one of the first sites and it was plenty large enough for three tents - a one man, two person, and three person tent. There were people around, but being Covid times, not full.
It had a nice firepit, but the fire restrictions were in full force, so we didn't get to use it. We used our camp stove instead and it was just fine..
The sites are all close to the creek, which is beautiful in view and sound. Plus it was great not to have to walk to far to get water (don't forget to filter), and the sites were still far enough that the bugs weren't horrible. The mosquitoes were out as other reviewers describe, but not in full force yet.

2020, June. This campgrounds is closed and not maintained. They do not have a water permit or a host I was told by rangers. Covid 19 contributed. There is however, plenty of Dispersed camping the couple of miles in. Meadows or forest. The dirt road is decent and I saw some fifth wheels around. Lots of off roaders too. Pit toilet and parking at the two lovely fishing ponds.

We had planned to camp at Bristol Head campgrounds. Somehow we passed it up and man we were so glad we did! We found site number 13. Right next to a flowing creek with awesome views of the mountains. Not far away is the road the leads to the switchbacks towards the falls, No doubt we will come back here.

We went in early Fall and mosquitos were not a problem. It's a small number of sites, but cool next to the creek in shady campsites. There IS potable water about one mile away at the park in Crestone, from a pressurized spigot. Very close to the Sand Dunes, it's a nice site, strategically located and well-maintained.

I loved it here! Not crowded at all, quiet and every spot had a good view it seemed. Clean bathrooms are a plus too! Make sure you have water and other things before you head up the dirt road.

One of our favorite camping spots. Great views of the San Juan valley and the Dunes can be seen to the north after a 5 minute walk. Plan on a twisty dirt road to get in and start climbing a bit in elevation. The Zappata falls are a quick hike but there is plenty more trail for people who would like to make a day trip into the mountains.

Wonderful place close to one of my favorite places to visit, the Great Sand Dunes. This campground is relatively new so all sites and facilities are really nice. The views across the valley looking at the Dunes are incredible. Hiking to Zapata Falls and in the surrounding area is well worth the trip. When you turn off the highway heading to the campground the vegetation is really sparse but the road climbs quite a bit so you end up camping in an area with pinon and juniper trees. Hiking up to the falls gets you into pines.

Let me start with the pros of this campground: It's tucked away with only a few sites and very little traffic. The sites are large and spread apart from each other. The creek runs through the back of every site. Sites are well-maintained. Now for the cons: I have literally never seen so many mosquitos in my whole life. The swarms were thick and you couldn't move without having a handful stuck to you. We covered up head-to-toe in loose-fitting clothes and I still walked away with over 30 bites on my ankles (where my socks were tight enough for them to bite through), wrists, hands and forehead. We were trapped in our tent the whole time we were there to avoid being eaten alive.

I camped at Storm King Campground on Memorial Day weekend 2017. My friend and I had the whole place to ourselves. It was fabulous. The campsites are big and spaced apart, with some on the side of the mountain and some overlooking the meadow. The toilets were fairly clean with plenty of toilet paper. The fire pits are deep and have nice movable grates on them for easy campfire cooking. The only downside was the ATVs cruising into the campsite and up and down the County Rd. 41 G early in the morning. The noise kinda killed the tranquil woodsy vibe we had going, but other than that it was a dream.

Awesome campground 10 minutes outside the Great Sand Dunes National Park. The Zapata Falls are a 1/2 mile from the campground and make a great quick hike before heading to the dunes.

The cabin is sweet - clean, warm, and the propane lights make it cozy. Not quite as isolated as it looks as there are a few houses across the stream. The trail maps show hiking trails starting at the cabin, but they were so overgrown we couldn’t follow them. There are plenty of forest roads in the area and we had no problems in a 4WD SUV. Mining was huge here in the 1800’s and there are still old mills and mines around. There has been a huge cleanup but the water still looks a bit funky in the streams, not sure the fish would be good to eat. There aren’t any showers but if you want a good soak Joyful Journey Hot Springs is only about 45 minutes down the road. All in all we had a great time and would highly recommend it.

Great spot! Bring shade though as there is none. Great trail loop around reservoir. Lower Loop Site #1 is truly the best there and worth the price. Fills up quickly with RVs in the weekend. Quiet and good fishing spot. Best vault camping bathrooms EVER!
