Check in was easy.
There is a nice trail directly behind the campground that you can let your dogs off leash I don’t know how far it goes but I walked a half mile and came back. Lots of wild flowers on the trail Located on the road that becomes wolf creek pass on the other side of the mountain is treasure falls pagoda hot springs and more restaurants and shopping.

This park is the most cared for we have ever been to. The owners are hard at it every day to keep it this way. Very friendly and will help with giving you options on things to do. Their dog is amazingly well trained, they work with her daily. Site 16 for us was the number one spot

Cheryl was welcoming and helpful at check-in. The cabin was what i expected from the pictures. The bed and pillows in the cabin were comfortable. The grounds were well maintained. It was nice to be there before the place got busy. We really enjoyed our time.

This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a small, quiet, and exceptionally clean park. We have stayed at Chinook in our RV four years in a row. (They have cabins as well but we have not stayed in them). The owners are professional, friendly, and helpful. On several occasions, they provided suggestions for places to go, restaurants where we could eat, and good trails where we could take our Jeep. The RV sites are very large. Also, I work from home (RV) so good internet is crucial for me to be able to do my job. As many people know, good internet can be difficult to find at RV parks. (In fact, our family members stayed at Alpine Ridge RV Park in South Fork last year and they did not have internet OR cell phone service). The internet at Chinook is great. We have not used the bathhouse but have used the laundry room. Like the grounds, the laundry room is kept immaculate. We have zero complaints about Chinook and would highly recommend staying here.

We spent the summer in the RV park. Great place to stay with large RV spaces. Not many places you can park your truck beside your 5th wheel and still have room. The owners are great people and so where the other RVers. One group would gather every afternoon to hang out together; they invited anyone that came by to join them. There where fish fries, ice cream socials, Fourth of July parades, and many other things going on that anyone could join in if they wanted to. If you’re looking for a great quiet place to stay, you’ll find it here.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and have no regrets. The owners were nothing but nice and hospitable. I stayed in the sunset cabin which had an adorable outdoor seating area. The inside had the perfect grandma cabin vibe.

What a wonderful stay! When my husband and I couldn't stay at our other cabin (stay away from Vacasa rentals) while on our honeymoon the first night in South Fork, we passed by Chinook and instantly felt peace about this place. The family who runs the cabins is very kind and offers many different ideas of what to do in the area. If there is an issue with anything, they automatically fix it. Best vacation ever.

We stayed in the Fisherman cabin for our visit. It is a great place to stay for skiing at Wolf Creek. The cabin was clean and decorated with a fishing theme that made the stay comfortable. The Hot water was always available quickly and lasted several people's showers with no problem. They have cage free and organic eggs available for purchase and they are delicious. The very kind and hospitable Keith let my little brothers feed the chickens which was an incredible experience for the city raised kids. The internet was fast, reliable, and easy to connect to. Would recommend to anyone trying to skii in Southern Colorado.

Took the family(6) and stayed in the Rafters Ridge. We loved it. The kids had a blast and so did the wife and I. The owners are super nice and helpful. We will be back for sure. The cabin slept all of us comfortably and we had no problems preparing meals in the kitchen with what was provided. You might want to take a few extra towels. Cabin was also very clean when we arrived and smelled nice. Screened in porch was huge bonus!!!

We stayed in the modern cabin named "Sunset" for an evening. This place has a very warm, cozy feel to it. Charming and a great location. My daughter was even pleased to have a cat that came up on the porch for her to play with! This alone made her day. Give this place a go, it's a good experience! We will be back! Thanks guys!! See ya next time.
Update (September 2021):. Another perfect stay at Chinook. Please give this place a go, as it's very peaceful and just what the doctor ordered for a getaway from this world full of...well, you know 😎🇺🇲. We'll be back again!

We stayed in the Southwest cabin and had a great time. Loved the historic cabin, built in the 1890's. It was clean, warm and comfortable. The owners were fantastic, we arrived later than expected and they waited up to check us in and help us get settled. Great place to stay, great value.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. We walked the trails behind the park every evening and seen a couple of huge deer. Great place to use as a Basecamp! Absolutely beautiful

Great place to stay in South Fork, for my review below we stayed in the Santa Cabin.
Pros
-Great location - minutes from hiking, Wolf Creek, and basically anything you’d like outdoors
-reasonably priced for what you are getting and the location it is in
-extremely friendly owners with great communication before and during your stay
-mini kitchen (no sink) including fridge and microwave and little kitchen area
-Most cabins (besides Santa) are dog friendly but always good to double check before your stay
-Cabin has little grill, fireplace
-During summer months there are plenty of r/v and camping spots in addition to the cabins
Cons
-In the end it’s a historic cabin that has been updated throughout the years so don’t expect a 4 star lodging.
-To he point above no A/C for summer stays
Overall it was a great place to stay with extremely friendly owners. We will 100% be back for future trips and looking forward to it!

These cabins are great! The owners are super personable and available. The rates are extremely reasonable. We were there over Christmas. We needed more wood for the fireplace. I was able to contact them and get more wood without any problem. We will definitely stay there again.

Great place to stay with kind owners! Stayed in the fisherman cabin which was perfect for 3 people and it had lot of appropriate decorations you could have up to 5 people here if you wanted because there are two queen size beds and one pullout couch. The kitchen had all the appliances you need and there was always hot water and heating when needed.

Slept so well in our cozy cabin! After driving several hours to reach South Fork the owners met us and gave us as nice historical review of our cabin. The Santa's Cabin was perfect for two of us. It included a small kitchen area with coffee maker and fridge. Hot shower. Most importantly the bed was amazingly comfortable. Well insulated walls so traffic noise was minimal. Will stay again on our travels to Durango. Great halfway stop if you drive from Denver area.

Greeted with a warm welcome. Liked the history of the cabins. The camp ground was clean. They have a community fire pit but can also rent a fire ring. Our cabin route 66 was adorable loved the theme. Beds was comfy. Our group of 30+ had a great weekend would definitely come again. Thanks for keeping us warm with all the fire wood you delivered. Loved the cats so friendly. The view was beautiful

Keith and Cheryl the owners are great and go out of their way to make your stay fantastic. I came down with the flu and they went to the store and got me soup and medicine since I was by myself which was going above and beyond. The cabins are very clean and homey. I stayed in grandmas and the Americana cabin and both were very comfortable and well stocked. Even Reaper and Amber greet you like a friend. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cozy retreat or get away.

This place is phenomenal, let me tell you. We rented the Americana cabin for three nights and it was so cozy! The staff is just a guy, his wife, and a cleaning lady. If you like, he’ll give you a history of the cabins (they’re more than a hundred years old! But the inside is updated so it’s quite comfortable). If you’re staying in South Fork, this is the place. Such a wonderful small town.

This was an excellent way to have a little vacation and still be able to social distance. We stayed in Grandma's cabin and found it quite cozy. Everything you could need is provided. There was just the 2 of us and our 15 yr old Border Collie. He loved laying next to the heater. My only suggestion is that the owners consider putting a mattress topper on because the springs in Grandma's bed are starting to be noticeable.
After staying 15 years at another place in South Fork we found Chinook Cabins far more likeable. It will be our choice from now on.

Greatest vacation ever! The owners were incredibly friendly and made our stay wonderful. Being our first trip to South Fork the owners gave us a map and hand wrote all kinds of cool places to go explore.
The cabin was immaculate and very comfortable. Our cabin even had our own bbq! We sat on the front porch and watched the deer and beautiful scenery.
Great price, great beds, all the cookware/plates/silverware you need, personal bathrooms with great hot water pressure.
Definitely we’ll be back!

The clean rustic cozy cabins are wonderful. Hosts Keith and Cheryl are amazing. They welcomed our 2 Doberman Pinschers and supplied pet sheets. The off leash dog run and spacious grounds made for an amazing stay for our whole family.
