Beautiful and private. A side of Colorado that offers a very different perspective. Shade is limited at times and wind can pick up. Wonderfully secluded. Great vibes in the sitting area and awesome dedicated tent spot as well. Thank you Arthur!

Weber camping on this spot! Was perfectly situated amongst the rock and trees to feel private and alone in nature. Which many hipcamp listing say they offer but rarely deliver. South Park by nature is a little windy, so thatâs to be expected but we definitely plan to add this to a worthy of returning to list.

Absolutely gorgeous place if you need/want to disconnect and truly enjoy some peace and quiet. The huge fire pit with log seats, hanging grill and picnic table was great and we appreciated the thoughtful wood pieces left behind to use for the campfire.
Arthur is super responsive and the views both in the morning and at night were stunning.

This campsite is arranged very nicely. The tent spot is on soft, flat ground, the picnic table is a nice addition, and the fire pit (though we did not use) was built nicely as well. The views are exceptional and the campsite is not too far from many outdoor activities.

My dog and I had such a lovely time at Arthur's campsite! When I originally booked, I had to reschedule due to getting sick, and Arthur was incredibly kind and prompt in his response. The campsite itself was peaceful, with stunning views, and I felt completely safe throughout my stay. I also felt lucky with the weather - it was mildly cold and windy, which was perfect for late September.
One small thing to note: there are some small barrel cacti around the site, so just keep an eye on your petâs paws.
We will definitely be back!

We loved tent camping at high plains hideaway campsite!! It was tucked away with beautiful views of the mountains. Very clean and accessible! Loved the picnic table and fire pit. The wind can get pretty gnarly so make sure you stake your tents down, also make sure you donât let a loose belongings blow away.

This is a very nice and private site with a new picnic table and fire pit. Plenty of dead wood around and cows wandering in the distance! Was very windy during the day however, it calmed down at night. Highly recommend this site if you are ever in the Hartsel/285 region!

We loved staying on Arthurâs land it was perfect for us to get off the beaten path and enjoy viewing the stars and watching the gorgeous sunset. We loved Hartsel, there isnât much but itâs just beautiful. We will never forget this gorgeous place!

This is a fantastic site with plenty of flat spots to pitch a tent! Our dogs loved running around the property, the log benches around the fire pit were a great touch, and on clear nights you get a wide open view of the sky for stargazing. We were even lucky to catch a glimpse of some northern lights which was really special! Sad we could only stay for one night but hope to be back again, thanks for hosting a great site Arthur!
A note to fellow campers: please please PLEASE clean up after yourselves! There is no reason for anyone to be leaving behind used menstrual products, doggy poop bags, and other grossness anywhere, especially not on someoneâs property when they are so kind to host campers! Letâs all do our part to leave places better than we found them so that everyone can continue to enjoy awesome sites like these (:

Beautiful camping spot, close to many great recreational reservoirs! Youâre a short jaunt to many nearby mountain towns. The spot felt secluded and was very peaceful.
Arthur was very responsive and helpful answering all of my inquiries!

This campsite is gorgeous! The drive in takes you down some dirt roads (all easy - no problem for any vehicle) and the views are beautiful the whole way. When you get to the site, you drive up the hill and find yourself in a great spot with trees, rocks, and views of the mountains. There's a nice firepit, benches to sit on, and a perfect spot to set up a tent in the trees. I loved it, and definitely recommend it.

What a wonderful slice of land. Great views, amazing sunsets, plentiful amounts of stars. Exactly as advertised. Big flat spot. A fire pit and plenty of wood around (fire restrictions for me but just noting). Quiet. Host was quick to respond to all my questions. Great gravel bicycling ride as well! I had no issues finding the spot and had no trouble getting my promaster camper van up there. Not even a wheel slip.

Great spot to camp and would go back for sure. Definitely use Google Maps when heading to the spot. Love the solar lights and tripod for cooking. Would definitely recommend this to anyone that wanting to escape Denver for the evening.

Arthurâs spot is beautiful! It was the perfect spot for our small family. Our dogs loved being off leash & able to roam around. His directions and markers made it easy to find. Hartsel can be windy - but we were still able to have fires both nights of our stay - which our children loved (itâs not camping without sâmores!) Amazing stargazing at night! Thank you, Arthur!
